Cheering at the funeral of a six year old kid who died of AIDS?! The hell is wrong with people? 😡 (I know this is fictional, but I'm guessing that's based on something that actually happened.) The AIDS crisis was sad all round. I read an article written by a gay man who lost most of his friends to this disease. Then you had people being infected by contaminated blood transfusions, another layer of tragedy. It did scare people, my mum grew up in the 80s and has talked about it. It's less of a death sentence these days, thankfully, it can be controlled.
I think alot of people still view HIV and AIDS as a gay disease because of how a lot of gay men died of it back during the 80s but we've come a long way since then to know that HIV and AIDS can be contracted by anyone no matter the sexuality or gender and then we have medication that can allow men and women who have HIV to live long healthy lives and start families, I know we aren't nowhere near a cure, unless you count the stem cell treatment that had cured about 3-4 people with HIV but that was for something else HIV caused them, we shouldn't allow HIV and AIDs to be a stigma anymore but hopefully one day soon, the scientists find a cure for HIV and AIDs so they can mass produce it and give to people who have contracted the virus first time as well as people who have lived with it for decades even if the meds have helped them live healthy lives
I'm sorry you feel like that. Please remember there's also lots of people in the world who love, accept and support the LGBTQA+ community, whether they are themselves in that community or not.
Yup, I don't live in America as not from there but I definitely know about their "views" and I will say this, I'm disgusted how people or a "church" more like cult can hate on people for being different whilst forgetting that Jesus said "Love thy neighbour" and "Treat people the way you want to be treated", I'm not exactly religious but was Christened in the Church of England but I don't really see myself as religious, do Christians expect to be treated the opposite of the way they treat the LGBTQA+ community, if they do then they are morons, but as I said, I might not be Christian but I always follow Jesus's line of treat people the way I want to be treated, though I was raised to be a good kind person by my family as my nan and my mum have always told my family to treat people the way I want to be treated, so if people treat me nicely then I'll do the same but if they treat me terribly for example Christians then you can bet, I'll treat them the exact same way whilst reminding them what Jesus's told people about treating people the way they would like to be treated

Romans 1:26-28 ~ For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. Mark 10:6-9 ~ But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. Stabler says "Most homophobes are repressed homosexuals". That is unfortunately very accurate.
It really isn't - most homophobes are straight who have inherited bigoted ideas from their family/culture - it's a bit like saying most racists are Black. Internalised homophobia is very real however and is a product of heteronormative narratives being shoved down everyone's throats from birth. Thankfully the increased LGBT representation in media and more people being out has challenged preconceived notions of what it is to be gay.
@@DialecticDaveit is, many are afraid of a random gay though that occurred at some point and act out on it
reminds me of my ex , he was convinced that he is straight .And wanted to kill me after telling his girlfriend we were dating for a year and i didnt know his girlfriend until his friend told me he has a girlfriend so i ratted him out

What's astounding is the multitude of "Christians" lean very heavily on the Old Testament rather than the New. Fire and brimstone as opposed to God's Love, very interesting ideology.
Homosexuality is a sin in the old and new testament. But of course a person who never read either wouldn't know that.
@@emilfrederiksen.1622 I have read both books and only in the old was it frowned upon because it detracted from increasing the population and in the new,not was Paul or Saul who was against the Roman orgy practices. Regardless, you can condemn homosexuality all you want but it is God who judges and no matter what, murder is also a more grievous sin and nobody has the right to take another's life. It's amazing how "Christians" use scripture to justify acting as God's hand of judgement and forget that for an unbeliever there is no mandate to act from God. It says to turn away from sin, it doesn't say that you have a divine right to pass judgement on another. Judge not, lest you be judged. Get off your soapbox and preach in church. There are many practices that the various denominations have differences with and consider it sinful. Jonathan Tucker, who plays Ian Tate here, was in the movie The Deep End years earlier. That starred Tilda Swinton as a mom forced into drastic measures on behalf of her son, whose problematic relationship with an older man leads to an extortion threat.

I'm an apathetic person mostly. But I wouldn't go THAT far!
I’m actually scared of who I am because of people like this in the world. It’s terrifying
I'm sorry you feel like that. Please remember there's also lots of people in the world who love, accept and support the LGBTQA+ community, whether they are themselves in that community or not.
The church was based in the Westboro Baptist, right? Kansas, Nebraska... it's close enough
Just to clarify I'm from Nebraska there's lots of us here that aren't homophobic and are either part of the LGBT+ community or an ally most of us love everyone 😊

Jude 1:7 ~ Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
Romans 1:26-28 ~ For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions.
