- Hello, and welcome back to the channel!
In this video, we have this year's rendition of bus service during the Celebration of Lights. The three-night festival brings in well over 1.4 million visitors and require 60 buses each night to bring people from the SkyTrain to the beach and back. This video compiles footage from all nights.
Just wanna apologize
1) for ot having normal uploads throughout the month of July - was pretty much focused on my single school course
2) that this video may appear technical to the general viewers.
which course
I’m surprised that PCT and HTC transit centre didn’t send XN40’s
@@JosephLikesTransit PCT did… except those were stationed for local work.
Apparently this included stuff like the 173/174 and 187 etc etc. Will never be able to confirm though.
❤❤ Nice video
Nice montage as always! ‘Twas definitely a pleasant surprise to not only see but also catch a ride on one of the LFs on the last evening xd
Imagine if Trolleybuses were also used in this 😜 & how is it that they were able to revive some of the D40LF’s but they can’t do the same with D60LF’s??
These D40LF were once in the training fleet, hence their revival over their articulated counterparts.
A metaphor I like to use to describe the D60LF is "Held together by tape and chewing gum".
They should just put those D40LF training vehicles back in regular service and to their original transit centres 😊
I see myself in this video
3:04 that’s one heck of an ISL sheeeeeeeesh
for real lol
Why was overload service needed on 209? There's no one on those.
Was hoping to take some busses over to Mission and then catch the special WCE train for the event, but realized none of the BC Transit busses were operating because of the strike that has concluded. 🤦♂
On the flipside, at least the strike is ended and there will be free rides for the rest of the month for CFV+Chilliwack
I did a drawing of some XHE40s for my art gala at school back in may and used the D40LF livery for them
PS Why is that Burnaby bus #18063 seen on the R3 sometimes?
If it is often being used on the R3, it is most likely a PoCo/PTC bus rather than a Burnaby bus. In some cases, depots don’t bother with changing the prefixes on their buses. Hence, you could get something like R12345 operating from Hamilton.
The bus debuted in Burnaby then transferred to PoCo. The PoCo depot did not bother to change the prefix.
Where did tbe north shore bus go to and where does it stop at?
As far as I know, the North Shore buses sent from Georgia at Denman were often sent to Park Royal or as additional trips on the 240 Lynn Valley or Grand & 15th, following the same routing as the regular 240. The same was probably true for the additional 246 Highland buses.
After the 240 some went back to Lonsdale as 228/229 as far as I know, then back to downtown
