[HD] 2024 TransLink CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS Special/Overload Services ft. D60LFR

Hello, and welcome back to the channel!
In this video, we have this year's rendition of bus service during the Celebration of Lights. The three-night festival brings in well over 1.4 million visitors and require 60 buses each night to bring people from the SkyTrain to the beach and back. An arduous effort is very required on what is the busiest transit ridership on the system between 10pm and midnight each year. This video compiles footage from all nights.
This year, the standard diesel articulated buses headline the special assignments. Only five of these are left in the fleet, and are being replaced by newer hybrid models with a powered middle axle.

Nice. Crazy day. I drove one of the D60LFR 21000series #2. We had a route to 4th Ave. 4th & Macdonald was a tight turn but no problem with the 60 not tight as #8 turn Broadway/Fraser which is my regular.
