Great!! I have another 4-speed video coming but I've been working too much to finish it. Look for it in early December. Thank you for watching and if you haven't, please subscribe. Thx
The bearing that was .123 inches was the worn bearing that came out of the transmission when I took it apart. So with that said I went back in with the stock size bearing .125 inches. Your measurements should match close to the ones in my video especially 4th gear. If your measurements don’t match then you have to have the 4th gear race (that’s in the case) honed out. It takes a special tool to do that. That tool can be found on the JIMS website. As for undersized bearings I’ve never seen anyone selling them. I may have saved my old bearings. Let me know if you would like me to check for them.
If you would have bought the real canadian made spacer with o-ring, instead of the chinese copy(yes they copied the real canadian spacer. this is what they are only good at) ...you would have not need to find a machinist to make it fit....some like to use chinese product even if they are american like you :( ...not more expensive at the end ...55 dollars shipping included is not what I call high price for the real thing, not the copy....by the way the supernut is only a (band aid) ,when you use my spacer with o-ring and the drive gear with 2 small seals,Ray(saddlebagrail)
I didn't see your part until after I bought the one from V-Twin. I have another 1946 transmission to rebuild, I'd love to do a review of your part while I install it. If your interested send me an email at hdrap_1999@yahoo.com and I can provide my address. as for finding a machinist my work location has a full machine shop so I didn't have to fine someone. I'm guessing your glad I mentioned your product and people saw how I had to modify the one I had. That should send some business your way. If you have a video of your product I'd love to see it. Thank you for watching and please subscribe.
@@Rapsgarage Hey guys - Ray writes in his comment - "and the drive gear with 2 small seals" - what does that refer to? I bought his spacer awhile ago, finally getting ready to install it. I know about the "small seal" around the main shaft that sits inside the main drive gear but there's only 1 AFAIK not 2... Thanks! -Rich ('81 FXWG)
One seal in the end where the main shaft comes through, 1 cork seal under the spacer, the o-ring seal inside of the spacer, the seal, the seal inside of the super nut and the main drive gear seal. 5 seals right there and if you RTV it, that makes 6
@@Rapsgarage Thanks yeah I should've written my question better... I was only wondering about "the drive gear with 2 small seals," what that refers to. AFAIK on the drive gear there's only 1 "small" seal (oem# 12013A).
Great video! I have a 1974 FX Super Glide, that the Trans. never been into. Going to go thru it this winter, using your tips. Thanks!

Where did you find the undersize roller bearings? I have standard size and 4th gear doesn’t fit

That isn't a Vernier Caliper. It is a Dial Caliper.
Why would grease not melting off of the bearings be a bad thing?
It’s a dial Vernier Caliper. Verniers measure I. D.
Calipers measure O. D.
This tool does both.
Thanks for for watching and commenting.
👍👍👍👍🤠
