Answering Dani’s questions: Dark Sister is Daemon’s sword, it’s Valyrian steel. That’s the same material the necklace he gave to Rhaenyra is made out of. It’s also the same metal that can kill White Walkers. The Crab Feeder is an enemy ship captain attacking Corlys’ men in the Stepstones. He got his name due to his gruesome methods. You’ll see more later. The throne isn’t poisoned, or is it? It’s more a symbolic thing. Aegon (the first Targaryen to conquer Westeros, a century before this) made sure to make the throne extremely uncomfortable, with swords jutting out every which way. It’s the most dangerous seat in the land and he wanted to emphasize that. Viserys is getting cut because he sits on it wrong (notice how Daemon was leaning when he sat on it instead).
Something Ive always thought is that Daemons line of “we all mourn in our own ways” might not even be a lie, and that “The heir for a day” was actually taken out of context and spun by Otto to be an insult. When Aegon I Targaryen, aka “Aegon the conqueror” or “Aegon the dragon” took over Westeros he did so wielding the Valyrian steel sword Blackfyre and riding the dragon Balerion “the black dread” together with his two sister-wifes: Visenya, who wielded the Valyrian steel sword “dark sister” riding Vhagar and Rhaenys (same name as “the queen who never was”) who rode Meraxes (Rhaenys prob had a sword, but not a named one). The entire point of the series is that they're all people, terrible, good and everything in-between. The point that GRRM was trying to make is that patriarchal societies and their monarchies push people to engage in very problematic stuff
Fun fact Daemon Targaryen is George R. R. Martin's favorite Targaryen, he is the author of game of thrones books. Plus Dark Sister is the name of the Valyrian steel sword that Daemon wields.
The two most considers successor at the Great Council were actually Viserys and Laenor, Rhanes son. Laenor however was just a bit of 7, had no wife, heirs or Dragon. Videos was 23, married, a child on the way and rode Balerion the Black Dread.
What about your daughter? what about her? Has Daemon shown any signs of hurting her? Their whole conversation has been lovey dovey so far lol. What about her? So you just making shit up now without him doing anything? Yes, he is reckless and impulsive but what about Rhaenyra that Daemon did so bad? He even said to her: Your father needs you, more than he ever has. Talks throughout the whole season and is baselessly naive about something he has not even done. FFS
I would recommend watching an episode breakdown video after you finish each episode. It would help flesh out who's who and how they are related to each other. There are a number of channels that do this. For instance, I found "New Rockstars" to be helpful in decoding some of the more obscure stuff.
The dark and handsome unknown common born Criston Cole, cutting a very Jon Snow-esque figure, unseats the Prince himself, then audaciously walks up to the princess to ask for her wreath, which she gladly indulges him, her best friend giggling beside her. Such an insignificant thing in the middle of all this tragic and impactful events : the king's wife and the heir's death, a new heir, a rogue prince. And yet...here it all begins.
Guys the dragons with riders belong to the chosen rider no longer to just house Targaryen so daemon can’t take his dragon if he wants cause no one else can ride it till he dies and he rides ones of the most fiercest dragons in history caraxes known as “ the blood wyrm”

Otto was practically trying to get his daughter a date with the the best suitor imaginable. Not many other lords can say they’ve done the same. Yea the thing with the dress was sad but the dresses can’t stay catching dust forever
Most of the action does occur on the continent of Westeros. This is the city of King's Landing, the castle is the Red Keep (there are certain areas within it where the royal family live, such as Maegor's Holdfast). The dragons are kept at the Dragonpit, a huge domed building atop Rhaenys' Hill (some distance from the Red Keep).
@@MS-bk7we there are many other lineages with strong first men blood, and many of them are "purer" since, as a large house, starks have to marry nobility from all over to maintain alliances
Nope, just the oldest humans in Westeros, and it's not exclusive to the Starks, most Northern houses and some riverland houses (like House Strong and House Blackwood) descend from the First Men too.
Take one of the dragons? Lmao. He is literally The Rogue Prince, Daemon Targaryen. He does not need to take it, he owns that dragon. He is a Targaryen and they all own dragons. It's not taking when it is yours.
the king cutting himself not because daemon put something it because he doesnt fit to sit there it just foreshadowing that daemon was right the council eating him up
Daemon loses on purpose because he had bet against himself... that's why he gets distracted and leaves space for Criston Cole to attack him from behind.
King Jaehaerys had 2 sons. Aemon and Baelon. Aemon died having only a daughter, Rhaenys. Jaehaerys named Baelon as heir. Baelon died leaving behind 2 sons, Viserys and Daemon. The King elected to form a Great Council to choose an heir. By 20 to 1 the lords chose Viserys. For many this established an ironclad precedent, whereby a daughter could only inherit if there were no legitimate males available. Viserys named Rhaenyra heir, and forced the Lords of Westeros to acknowledge her rights to the throne. The Targaryens have 2 Valyrian Steel swords (Like Ned Stark's Ice, or Longclaw wielded by Jon Snow.) Blackfyre is always wielded by the King. Dark Sister is often given to the most capable Targaryen warrior. Visenya Targaryen, Aemon the Dragonknight, Brynden Bloodraven have all wielded the sword.
Incest has nothing to do with it, they have never been affected by incest, incest basically does nothing to them and they also never get sick, Targaryens are different from the people of Westeros. Targaryens' pregnancies are also different, the fetuses start with dragon characteristics and become human until the end of the pregnancy. Basically it's as if they were Gods, people who came from another world, because they have connections with dragons, fetuses start with dragonic characteristics, etc...
That dragon pregnancy is not confirmed in any source material, but it is a valid theory. Also worth noting its only when they start to dilute their blood that madness actually starts occurring.
@@alastorcorvus Which books talks about the mental and phyiscal decay of the Targaryens? Fire and Blood lmao? ASOIAF? Dunk and Egg? They definitely affected by the incest. I mean this is also the (fantasy) world where genetic work very differently than ours. So the damage of inbreeding probably not exactly the "same" as the real world, for example : poor health, stillbirths, prone to insanity, etc. Now, some might argue those "dragon-like" state of the pregnancy also can be considered as deformity because of targaryen's incest.

The entire point of the series is that they're all people, terrible, good and everything in-between.
The point that GRRM was trying to make is that patriarchal societies and their monarchies push people to engage in very problematic stuff
@@alastorcorvus exactly. The suffering and stupidity that a society like that causes and perpetuates
because it's much harder and longer to do good stuff
Fun fact Daemon Targaryen is George R. R. Martin's favorite Targaryen, he is the author of game of thrones books. Plus Dark Sister is the name of the Valyrian steel sword that Daemon wields.
You mean daemon the peado sex groomer. george r martin keeps those vibes is well.
FFS
Love you all’s reaction, just need some volume with the show. Y’all prepare for a wild ride with the show, it’s crazy!!
DAemon had a list of the criminals so he was house by house
Guys the dragons with riders belong to the chosen rider no longer to just house Targaryen so daemon can’t take his dragon if he wants cause no one else can ride it till he dies and he rides ones of the most fiercest dragons in history caraxes known as “ the blood wyrm”
Just give them some time guys. Not long until Daemon becomes their favourite.
It’s ALWAYS like that with reactors
Then the girls will start hating him again after the last episode
@@gaiusx287 Nope

He grows on you after you get most of the way through the season. I don’t understand anyone that likes him immediately and I still don’t like him much by the end of the season.
There's dozens of us, dozens!!
Tbf, I don't really hate him, but he's definitely not a character that anyone should admire or justify, he's the Rogue Prince for a reason.
@@alastorcorvus He's a good character, arguably the best in house of the dragon, but his fans are shit.
Can’t wait for daemon to be their favorite character
Guys no one really in this show is “good” all do some morally wrong stuff
Otto was practically trying to get his daughter a date with the the best suitor imaginable. Not many other lords can say they’ve done the same.
Yea the thing with the dress was sad but the dresses can’t stay catching dust forever
Holy copium, Batman
Eewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Most of the action does occur on the continent of Westeros. This is the city of King's Landing, the castle is the Red Keep (there are certain areas within it where the royal family live, such as Maegor's Holdfast). The dragons are kept at the Dragonpit, a huge domed building atop Rhaenys' Hill (some distance from the Red Keep).
The starks are like the first men, probably the oldest among humans
they are the first men. They came from Bran the Builder
Northners and the blackwoods and also strongs originates from first men.
@@MS-bk7we there are many other lineages with strong first men blood, and many of them are "purer" since, as a large house, starks have to marry nobility from all over to maintain alliances
we dont know when the andals came into existence. for all we know theyre as old as the Valyrians and First Men
Nope, just the oldest humans in Westeros, and it's not exclusive to the Starks, most Northern houses and some riverland houses (like House Strong and House Blackwood) descend from the First Men too.
Otto pimping out his daughter gotta love game of thrones
Take one of the dragons? Lmao. He is literally The Rogue Prince, Daemon Targaryen. He does not need to take it, he owns that dragon. He is a Targaryen and they all own dragons. It's not taking when it is yours.
Can't hear shit from the show.
the king cutting himself not because daemon put something it because he doesnt fit to sit there it just foreshadowing that daemon was right the council eating him up
Daemon loses on purpose because he had bet against himself... that's why he gets distracted and leaves space for Criston Cole to attack him from behind.
lmao these lot really thought Otto was a better character than Daemon lol
You need a better thumbnail
Thanks dad lol
Getting a cut sitting on the throne means your not worthy of sitting on it.
The Targaryens have 2 Valyrian Steel swords (Like Ned Stark's Ice, or Longclaw wielded by Jon Snow.)
Blackfyre is always wielded by the King.
Dark Sister is often given to the most capable Targaryen warrior.
Visenya Targaryen, Aemon the Dragonknight, Brynden Bloodraven have all wielded the sword.
Daemon is the hero we needed not chose
yeah a real hero that guy..haha what
Aemond

Nope, that's just a fan theory.
The incestous implications of their mental and physical decay are all over the books, you should read them.
@@alastorcorvus Which books talks about the mental and phyiscal decay of the Targaryens? Fire and Blood lmao? ASOIAF? Dunk and Egg?
Pre-Dance at least they are primarily very healthy and there are much less "madness", and we do not have Fire and Blood 2 which is the book that would chronicle the periods were there were the most signs of mental and physical decay, but we do not have that yet.
Would love if you could refer me to where this decay is so obvious in the books, I have read them all, so if I missed something I would love to have it pointed out.
@@bjornerluffy In the books Aegon II son Jaehaerys was born with an extra finger and and extra toe on each foot.
They definitely affected by the incest. I mean this is also the (fantasy) world where genetic work very differently than ours. So the damage of inbreeding probably not exactly the "same" as the real world, for example :
poor health, stillbirths, prone to insanity, etc.
Now, some might argue those "dragon-like" state of the pregnancy also can be considered as deformity because of targaryen's incest.

You have just been introduced to the most interesting and charismatic character on the show - Daemon Targaryan. He is absolutely mesmerizing. Viscerys is another very interesting character as well. I can't wait to see y'alls reaction to this whole season. It's so good.
It's confirmed that Viserys basically has leprosy
As with Game of Thrones, you love characters, then you hate those characters, then back to living them. Y'all are in for an Adventure! I liked House Of The Dragon more than Game Of Thrones. Only slightly, though
daemon hate her wife because otto make him marry her...
Targaryens came from a place cald valyria. They came to westeros after valyria hit by a doom( it was a volvanic explosion if i remember correctly). Westeros was a thing before they came. There were 7 kingdoms and aegon conquered them( except dorne, they were taken later) and united them.
ngl Viserys is probably my favorite character throughout both TV series, closesly followed by Ned Stark, they're just... SO COOL AND NICE and dedicated and LOYAL. it's heartbreaking to see their chapters end.
The only other show I've been overly awaiting since "The Boys", is "The House of Dragons" you girls are going to fucking love this show, I'll wager that statement on the reputation of my (.01% rating)💯🌚💯🤔🧐🤫💯😎🌷💯😎🌹💯😎🥀💯😇😇😇😇😇

by the way not all Targaryens are born of incest Aemma's reason for failed pregnancy is not because of incest her parents werent even related but yes there is a lot of incest otherwise!
Daemon🔥🔥🔥
You need to pay more attention to what’s happening.
The Alicent-Rhaenyra "lost friendship" aspect IS the central driving force of Hotd. It's what provides the show with its emotion, angst & tragedy. Anyone who do not understand this is because they are a petulant Targ Cultist for whom scoring Sports Team dunks is more important than the beauty of the story. They get mad that hotd dares to have substance and nuance instead of being their self-inserf silver queen warlord cosplay/targsryen apology show. How dare the antagonists are themselves victims and made of sympathetic flesh and blood instead of being one dimensional cartoonish mustache twirling doormat villains with no characterization, arc of screentime. The average targ cultist wanted a snow white girlboss warlord vs 65 year old evil stepmom Disney movie. Hotd gave them a greej tragedy like sophocles instead. I guess it's going to be tough luck for all the Disney brained Daenerys self inserts.
I know Daemon looks like a villain but he actually loves deeply his family (Viserys and Rhaenyra) he wouldn't murderer them just to take the Iron throne
kills innocent people though but hey never mind hes cool huh
@@paulelroy6650 Isn't it so strange how something so basic as caring about your family redeems anything you do in the eyes of so many people? I do not understand the way peoples minds work. If anything you should be judged more on the way you treat random people who you have no responsibility for.
