Hi everyone, Thank you all for the incredibly kind and positive comments on our Long way South Series, we truly appreciate all the support from around the world! At the very end of the series we want to make a video about how we planned the journey, and what our final take is on such an endeavour. In this video we’d like to answer the many questions we’ve gotten so far. If you have anything in specific you’d like us to talk about, please do not hesitate to share the questions below. We’ll do our best to answer as much as possible in the final video. Love, Rosita and Maurits
I always have my leatherman Titanium multitool on my belt. When my wife gave it to me on my birthday years ago I wondered what the heck she was thinking. I tell you there is rarely a day that passes that I dont use it. Lovely video as always. Love your smile and energy Bambi. I see you are already in SA. Looking forward to seeing the other videos. Regards from Port Elizabeth.
Well done both!!! You have such an Amazing chemistry together !! I binge watched all the 6 episodes!! What an Amazing experience that it must have been! Thank you for sharing !!! (from a Pitts Special driver :-) )
I always bring a polaroid camera on an adventure. Its not always the best if you want to travel compact. But I love to take a polaroid in every country I visit.
One thing I always pack before I go flying is a pen and a notebook, of course I'm still a student pilot so making notes when and where you can does come in handy. I do however hardly ever touch it which is a behaviour I should probably change just to make life that bit easier.
Veeeery nice! What a trip to look forward to! Great video as usual. You seem to have a special connection to Southern Africa. Those Sling planes certainly are becoming popular. I see them all over the world now!
My good luck Bambi and wish you and your boyfriend a safe flight to South and whole African region from 12,000km feet by your lovely flight. Have a good tour and happy new year 2023 Bambi and your partner
Cool trip for sure, jealous. I’ll be visiting rotax factory in few weeks from canada. Curious if you can hit 142ktas cruise as sling website indicates? Happy travels!
Excellent videos guys, love your passion for aviation and travel. . . Glad to hear you both made it to the loo after 3hrs airborne! . . . I did wonder if the Sling came with it's own loo 😂
Your biggest flight has startet, so the visit of the rotax factory is a good choice, maybe you can learn some service tips, helpfull for your flight. I wish you a safe flight and good weather, if you remember Mac Rutherford had lots of delay of weather reasons and visa/permit issues. See you on the next video! 🤣😎🇫🇷
I hope both of you are well. What a brilliant vlog.you are well organized how did you way it all. You will have completed alot of miles by the time you get back home.good luck with the rest of your journey I will keep supporting your journey philip. 🍻 💜
Sentimental old fart that I am, I'm watching this through tears. My distant connection with the Sling, is that my brother was killed in 1993 in a Microlight, built by Mike Blythe, in which the wing & undercarriage separated after a hard landing. Mike was involved in the accident investigation. My brother's best friend Jean, was involved in the initial development work on the Sling & is currently co CEO of the Sling Academy in California. Another friend of mine who was a fighter pilot & test pilot in the South African Air Force has also tested the high wing & he has nothing but praise for the aircraft.
i love your videos but i wonder what happens in these long flights inside small planes like when one is pressed or feel urgent need for the toilet.how do you cope in such situations?
Great video! I must say for me personally Rotax beats every other engine manufacturer by far and seeing MOGAS 1,72€ instead of 3,20€ on screen is a lot nicer :)
Awesome video, getting excited for the rest of the adventure! Question tho: What app are you using for the checklists? Is this part of ForeFlight or something else?
