Hi Bambi, your channel encouraged me to make a dream true and I decided to start the PPL this summer. Thank you for the inspiration. Kind regards, Alex.
As always a spellbinding video, Mozambique is a very special place. You guys have to go and spend more time there. Lovely people, lovely weather and amazing food.
What a great trip and adventure. Its on the bucket list to do some air travel in a small plane to other parts of the world. Keep informing about customs, airplane rentals and other procedures. Stay safe!
Glad to see a new video, very enjoyable content. Beautiful videography, wonderful views, skillful piloting and I like all the ground content. I especially like the flight planning, all the graphics and maps really give you a sense of actually being there. Thanks for the ride.
Thank you very much! This comment means so much to me, as I love getting feedback on the videos. We're definitely going to keep sharing moving maps + graphics as I want you all to know what I'm talking about even if we're flying in very foreign places :) thanks for the feedback!!
It was great to see more of your Southern Africa trip. Many thanks to Sling for hooking you up with that aircraft for the trip. Despite all the border crossings, you only had one problem with aircraft possession and none due to covid! That was pretty amazing! I left another comment on Instagram with an interesting aviation link I found. Keep up the great videos and above all STAY SAFE! 🛩️❤️😁
So glad you enjoyed following this journey!! It was such a dream to be able to do a trip like this. And as you said: many thanks to Sling. They are absolute legends for letting us use their plane!
Hi Bambi. your videos are awesome. So nice to hear Hoedspruit ATC and that you mention Hoedspruit. I use to be in Airforce at Hoedspruit and worked ATC there. Now living in Belgium for last 9 years and doing SPL at Keiheuwel (EBKH). hoop om een dag zamen te kan zitten en babbel oor jul Afrika avontuur
I bambi and pal hope you are doing ok.what a awesome experience for you. The scenery looks amazing. The sling sti looks a amazing plane. Would love to learn how to fly that one. You will have to teach philip.nice to see you both looking well try and keep cool and live life to the full take care for now phil. 🇬🇧👍💜🤘
yes plz do a very thorough test of the high wing, I want one eventually. Don't be afraid to push it a bit. I am super interested in seeing what is is capable of
Hi Rosita, greetings from Argentina. Amazing!! A new video from Pilot Bambi!!!! I missed you. What is most amazing is that it seemed to have occurred just yesterday when you started your channel dropping parachuters somewhere in the Careebean and now you are near 100K subs! Well done, sister in the sky! I started loving Africa and mostly South Africa due to a novelist called Wilbur Smith when I was a teenager (I´m almost 64 now) and looking and watching all those wonderfull landscapes and scenarios thanks to you and your camera skills is a blast!. When I said "sister in the sky" it´s because I past my PPL checkride 40 years ago (waaaaaaay before you was born) just when the Malvinas/Falkland conflict started here in the Patagonia. As always, your joy for life is contagious, please don´t loos it no matter what. That´s your "hook". Question: Are you planing to step up to a complex aircraft, retract gear and/or multi-engine? Let us know and take us with you in the journey. BTW: your camera and editing skills are improving. I guess I have to wait until a next video, so .... So long... Cheers to both of from NE Patagonia, Argentina.
Wow, what a lovely comment!! Thank you so much Walter, this means the world to me! Yes, what a crazy journey it has been. I also can't believe its almost 100K followers.... I still feel like I’m trying to navigate my way on this platform, and figuring out what people want to see in these videos. But this video style; travelling the world by plane, is my favorite. Are you still flying a lot? Must be incredible flying in Argentina. I currently fly the Cessna Caravan (turbine), but haven’t made any videos on it just yet. I also passed my Multi-Engine instrument rating 3 weeks ago. So lot’s of progress happening in a short time. Looking forward to sharing more on this in future videos!
@@PilotBambi 1st) No, sadly I don´t fly any more, but it was very challenging here in Patagonia since we have 8/9 month of heavy wind (25/30 Kts). Therefor, pilots who trained in this region of our Country are very skilled, specially on cross-wind landings in small planes. If you want to see some piloting skills, check out some footage of what argentinian pilots did in the Malvinas/Falkland conflict. They deserved even the recognition from the History Channel a few years ago and from the UK pilots as well. 2nd) I´m subscribed to several aviation related channels, but your´s is distiguished by combining flight with joy for doing it in a right balance, besides all those scenarios you share with us. Congrats for passing your complex aircraft checkride. I hope you will show us some of your experiences. Take care, be well and happy and... GO, GIRL, GO...KISS THE SKYS! My best to you and your BF & family from NE Patagonia, Argentina.
So glad to you back on another video!as always spectacular adventures! Also happy to see you say goods things about my home country, I wish I can fly there someday as well. Keep the great content.
Loved the transcription of tower, good for practice! Question: when you approach for vilanculos landing on runway 35, how do you know whether you are joining left or right downwind ?
Glad you enjoyed it! Sometimes the radio calls are so difficult to understand, so we've decided to add subtitles to all of it :) . Unfortunately we can't add all the radio calls as the video would be too long, so a few are cut out. The tower told us in advance where to join, and usually it's also found in the AIP what the joining procedures are
Absolutely stunning and awesome video! You are doing what I hope to do sometime in future. You are my rolemodel, keep doing what you guys do❤ love from Switzerland🇨🇭
You guys should fly to Fanjove Island or Mafia Island in Tanzania. If you do want to visit Lake Victoria, Mwanza and Rubondo are great places to go alongside the geita and chato area.
We are planning a trip to Tanzania end of this year! It's just a bit expensive to fly there, but we're trying to get all the permits sorted. Would love to visit the country I grew up in again!
Sad to say that I experienced problems with customs at Vilanculos on more than one occasion trying to charge you will illegitimate fees. Once they waited until after our start-up (with clearance) with the PC-12 to make us shut down and more
Nice to see you back. Great video loved that coastline . Mozambique is now on my holiday list and I can then practice my Portuguese. However I should claim a refund for those Mug Shots! Regards, Jim in NI UK
G,day Pilot Bambi from Sydney Australia. Fantastic filming: having the arid land and ocean meet is very different from Sydney. There is (I believe) parts of Western Australia's coastal areas the same. Say.... Nice aeroplane!!!!! 🌏🇦🇺
hey, this might be a random and strange question. but i lived in south africa for 11 years before moving to nl 3 years ago. i know you need to have HAVO diploma for a commercial license, but what about getting your PPL can you have a VMBO diploma for that?
Have you eve considered a subtitle and number for those videos that go together so that "we" can figure it out. Or simple title like now for stand-alone videos.
Bambi you’re coming back. Finally! I love you and we have all missed you way too much!
Thank you so much!! Sorry it's been so long, but we've still got lots of videos to come!

Was the ocean water warm enough to swim in Mozambique? I might like a vacation there (after all covid restrictions are lifted).

There are no schooling requirements for any license. Ppl or cpl. Some flightschools might have their own requirements but they are not legal ones
Hi Bambi, so happy to see your blogs. One question, do you have to pay every time you leave the plane at any airport???
Amazing, but to spend one night only in Moz that’s a pity.
Yes, it was such a shame!! We hope to be back end of the year and spend more time in Moz.
Have you eve considered a subtitle and number for those videos that go together so that "we" can figure it out.

Long time no see,,, ps afgevallen ???
Did you guys meet up with JP at sling?
Ah we were gone before he arrived, so just missed eachother
it is actually a sonaca 200
The Sonaca's are Sling's certified in Europe :) Same plane!

Sling 2’s are roughly 1500-2000zar an hour

We did 4,5 hours of flying on the first day!
