    Makoto Shinkai is my biggest inspiration, I studied a lot of his works in the past. This would have been so helpful!

    I remember someone talked about "donut" shape lens blur technique of Shinkai. Surprisingly it was not from your video, I can't remember where I found that.

    They are not "imperfections". Its about the places being "lived-in", these are "lived-in" details not "imperfections", same as the props. "lived-in" is standard industry terminology, not "imperfections"
