This shows how much work goes into the Anime scenes. Aside from the character's faces (and bodies) being exaggerated, the surrounding architecture is stunningly realistic (albeit in a cartoon style). I am trying to learn Dillongoo Studio (I know how to use Blender) and Krita (I use Linux) - so I can create rendered scenes. That's a really interesting question. I think legally if the building is visible from public spaces then it is fair game for use in photography and art (with some exceptions like the NY Chrysler Building, or the Hollywood sign). On the morality side of things though I think it should be totally okay to include real buildings in anime as it does not detract from the value of the architect in any way. If anything it makes them look better. But I'm certainly no architect so I'm not sure how they would feel about the subject, I just can't imagine someone being mad that Makoto Shinkai did a beautiful drawing of their building.
Of course its animation, it was made to look more beautiful but not that far compared to the original. In conclusion both are good just be thankful that this places existed even in real life. We have a huge chance of visiting it.
