The agency did not know about his accident. Suga kept it to himself and did not even tell the members because he was scared that the agency would give up on him because this all happened during their trainee days. He told the members he fell down the stairs. But the company later found out and scolded him for not telling them sooner so they could help him. And he was not addicted to drugs it was just his medication.
Yeah he told them he fell down the stairs. And he was not addicted to drugs, they wouldn't give him the chance to become addicted. Drugs is a career killer for idols. Everything they take is monitored by doctors. Even vitamins. I'm not saying it's not possible to get addicted because you're right it is, I'm just saying that big hit would not give Suga the chance to get addicted.
He was working to pay his own tuition fees, since his family could not. He did not inform BigHit at the beginning because he was scared to be fired, but then it came out and BigHit helped him with his school fees so that he did not need to work outside anymore. Years later he confessed the members that he did not fell off the stairs. In the end, he went under surgery end 2020 after having endured years of pain, you can see sometimes during live performances. And ni, he never did drugs. But he had to take medications rigorously under medical control. In South Korea your career is over if there is even the slightest suspect.
They didn't know about his accident initially but he eventually told them and the company said Yoongi should have told them sooner and they helped him with his medical expenses and his tuition fees (he was very worried about his education and him/his family not having enough money to afford it)
Dear my friend..he talks about his dear friend who ended up in prison .... who changed ... he continued to rap .. while his friend took drugs and sold drugs ... when he sings it live I get the shivers because even today he cries for the separation. I am an Italian army .. purple you💜
Amygdala, is a almond-shaped region of the brain primarily associated with emotional processes. Suga trying to "get out of his head". Such a emotional MV. If you watch his concert, he finally gets out of the door. These guys are not just a band, they are (all) artists and many of their songs "go deep". As a group, they have been through a lot. It has not been an easy road to the top for any of them. Hope you'll react to 2022 Lollapalooza where J-Hope performed many of his Jack in the Box songs (solo) in Chicago (rocker/rapper J-Hope). So good!
YES, I would love to see them react to that one, with the subtitled version from ENJOY BTS MORE. She improved the quality of the video with subtitles and for the video quality.
Adding to this. The amygdala deals with our flight or fight response. When exposed to traumatic events our amygdala is responsible for recording that and triggering our reflexes and reactions for that and future “threats”. Thats why he’s also talking about 1st choice and 2nd choices. Suga said it was a very difficult song to write because he had to dig up his past trauma.
Dude in the blue hat. Amigdala is very much connected to the first two, it's a prequel. Because of the traumatic events he is showing us in Amigdala his persona Agust D was unleashed. His pain, anger and suffering all led to his determination to succeed at all costs. In both Daechwita and Haegum he was trying to eradicate those sides of his persona that were caused by the traumas. The amigdala is a part of the brain that stores trauma, bad memories and such and triggers the fear, fight and flight responses based on those stored memories. All of our guys have been through a lot of bad experiences but Yoongi more than most.
Suga is too deep for most people to comprehend the intricate meaning of his work. The explanation videos are really helpful, especially when his work talks about Korean culture.
Aqua, show another Suga's personal song "Dear My Friend", "the last" and "far away". There is a bunch of his personal song but i think those 3 songs has a really deep lyrics
As artists, you will want to watch the FMV Snooze. He wrote it to encourage young artists coming up. Also, the scar in the 1st 2 videos represents his anger, greed and some other mental health issues he suffered. So he is sharing why the scar happened.
@@jessicapierce3027 you mean this particular one?: ua-cam.com/video/zCNqdvR9e_w/v-deo.htmlsi=gSytZOL1X_X8DKls I'm pretty sure this is the one we were thinking of, the one most reactors react to, the one that was put together by an Army, therefore an fmv. But i could be wrong. Is there a documentary version of this particular song, on their official page, that Im not remembering right now?
6:05 it's not drugs it's medication. His shoulder had him fucked up for almost 10yrs. Drugs are so illegal in Korea that you get 2-3yr imprisonment for smoking weed.
He also seem a to not like people that take drugs because of how much he talks about pill pipers in his songs and also seems that the friend in dear my friend did those
Demi understands, this is very cathartic for some of us ..amygdala is a part of the brain that stores all the hurts and pains we experience.. If you notice that he wasn't able to open the door at the end of the MV, but on the final day of his concert tour that happened early part of this year there was the same door in the MV which he opened and where he exited..it happened on his very last show..so it was an emotional scene bec it showed that he was able to let go of it all.
The scar on his eye is a representation of his inner struggle, his pain. Please see my explanation below. Also, I will once again leave the explanation of the trilogy title words. *Meanings for the song titles* *Daechwita* - is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the ARMY is marching or as a static performance usually when the King is arriving. (Suga aka Agust D meant the BTS ARMY to be implied.) *Haegeum* - has two meanings. The first, it's a traditional Korean string instrument, resembling a vertical fiddle with two strings, usually played at Royal Court. Also, it means to lift a ban, or release what is forbidden. *Amygdala* - is an almond shaped part of our brain which is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli, including detection of threat and activation of our fight or flight response. The Amygdala helps to store memories of events and emotions so that an individual may be able to recognize similar events in the future. *My own thoughts on Agust D's Triology:* Yoongi has shared his mental health issues with us since the beginning, and he stated how some of his roughest times were in the early days, like from 2014 to 2016, how he developed social anxiety at age 18, he was dealing with depression and OCD. BTS had hate coming at them from all angles, and it took a toll on them in the early years. So hearing all the other things he was dealing with as well, just puts things into perspective. He's such a strong person. In the behind the scenes video, he said the scars we create are of our own making. So the best way for him to represent that was the way that he did with the scar on his face. And the medicine he took was for his condition. He talked about how he saw a psychiatrist and his parents went with him, and they said they didn't know who he was anymore. This was in "The Last" from his first mixtape Agust D. He said how could anyone know him when he doesn't know himself, so that phrase "I don't know your name" made sense to me. Looking back at repressed memories. Thankfully he got through all of it, and now is healed to a certain degree. I see the rain as a shift., He also talked about "What doesn't kill you make you stronger", and he is now blooming like a lotus flower. The lotus flower is very resilient, and can grow in mud and water, like on a lake or pond. So I see the rain as cleansing, and healing. He also said in the behind the scenes on Daechwita, that the mad King was the Agust D from his first Mixtape in 2016, and the peasant was from his 2020 mixtape D-2. You can see the scar is very raw in that video on both of them, maybe slightly less for the 2020 Agust D. In Haegeum, i interpret it as Agust D from 2020 is the Police detective/corrupt Boss, with the partially healed scar, and the Agust D that kills, and steals the money with no scar is D-Day Agust D. The one that is mostly healed and is talking about freedom. (Do we ever completely heal from our scars?) In an interview with IU, and in the D-Day film, he talks about how he was very angry and now he has forgiven the haters and is living in the present. So his music moving forward may not have the angry vibe that we have seen in the past. But he is definitely not done yet Finally, Yoongi went on a world tour, after this album was released, and at the Final concert, he was very emotional, and had his BTS Bros. and his PEERS there with him. on a couple occasions, ARMY's sang the parts because he was so emotional he couldn't sing. And at the very end, the door he couldn't go through in this Music Video is on the stage, and he's able to walk through now. That tells me that he has healed and accepted those parts of himself, and he can move forward and let go now. You could see the relief on his face and the love as he waved good bye and closed the door. EPIC MOMENT.
He did a world solo concert in April to August last year and in the very last days concert he opened the door and went out that was to say he was free from it !
Suga has credited Jin, the oldest member, with keeping him from going over the edge and not unaliving himself - they talked a lot at that time and that helped Suga deal with a lot of his issues. He also sought professional help for his anxiety and OCD/depression. These days he is mentoring and talking to younger Kpop artists about their path and how to deal with the fame and attention. He said that BTS didn't have anyone that could have given them advice or answered their questions. You should react to 'Snooze', a message to the 4th generation Kpop idols and a collaboration with his friend Woosung (Sammy, he is American) from The Rose and Mr. Ryuichi Sakamoto, a Japanese composer and actor, which Suga idolizes. He passed away shortly after this song came out from cancer.
Thanks for sharing this. Was that conversation between Jin and Suga during the In the Soop? Indeed, Jin always tried to give Suga that positive perspective. He read allowed a letter during one of the early fanmeets....was it in Japan? I forget but yah....They're all truly there for each other.
Stop spreading this misinformation and blatant lie...... yoongi never said anything remotely similar to what I said. Delete this comment and have respect for Yoongi and the rest of the tannies
@@wongpauline22 what op said about Jin stopping Yoongi from ending his life or whatever is not true and op is spreading misinformation.......don't believe it because it's not real and none of the members have said anything remotely similar to what op is saying
Yoongi never credited Jin about such a thing because it never happened. Op hope you know that what you're saying is 100% just lies and misinformation which is not cute because it's on such a sensitive personal subject when it comes to Yoongi.
@@g100-w6j I'm pretty sure it did happen. Unless it's a mandela effect or something that only me and OP remember. It has something to do with a bathroom as well, I think not sure, but I do remember Yoongi talking about it years ago. May not have been in so much words but he did at least insinuate it.
Actually, the accident that is shown in the MV was more severe irl (maybe obvious idk) from what I remember, he was dragged underneath the car and when he opened his eyes the wheel was centimeters away from his head
Yeah… Yoongi explained in Burn the Stage I believe and the members were shocked because I remember him clarifying that he hadn’t fully told them until then but they knew it was talked about in his music. That was around 2016-2017 time…
The accident happened while he was still a trainee with the agency, he has not debuted as an artist yet. He needed to earn money so did deliveries during his free time. He got into that accident and busted his shoulder. He didn’t tell the agency because he was afraid they might kick him out. So he kept quiet and took pain killers. During the pandemic, he finally got the operation. Years after the accident.
Copy pasting my reply from another comment: You're right but just one small correction- Yoongi eventually told the company during predebut about his injury even tho he was afraid of being let go/not getting to debut and the company said that he should have told them earlier. They said to him that they will wait for him if necessary, also they paid his medical expenses and also tuition fees (Yoongi was very worried about his education and him/his family not being able to afford it because he/his family didn't have money). And the company helped him as much as they could at that time, due to not having many funds in general. Then from their documentary he said he was very grateful and they had his back. And he eventually debuted with the rest of the members and as they say the rest is history Yoongi only told the members later on during their Wong tour in 2017 (from the Burn the stage Documentary released in 2018) that he was in a car accident while doing deliveries and the rest of the members were like shocked then they then said "so that's why you had those lyrics in your mixtape about holding on to your broken shoulder because of your delivery job" (paraphrasing ofc but the guys said something along those lines)
Suga auditionned for BigHit through a HipHop battles and he ended up second, but BangPD saw a lot of potential and took him as producer first, he was already known in his town as underground rapper and producer, he was even used to do busking in front of 2 peoples. The company never told to no talk about his shoulder, he literaly talked about it in his track "The last" released in 2016... Before that, during their debut, he was the one who hided the accident from the company and even his bandmates.... in their documentary from 2018, we learned that he just told them he fell in the stairs, he didn't want to tell them because he and they were struggling financially, even the company, and he was afraid to be told to go back home which he didn't want because his family also was poor and he had some college fees to pay.. He worked during their debut as a delivery to help the group and the company.... When everyone knew the truth, the company told him he should've told them because they would've waited for him and paid his fees, and they will never give up on him.
Edit: should have finished reading your comment because you explained everything perfectly and I jumped the gun😭😂 my apologies You're right but just one small correction- Yoongi eventually told the company during predebut about his injury even tho he was afraid of being let go/not getting to debut and the company said that he should have told them earlier. This is more of an autobiographical song, a story of Suga's life, especially during his years of struggle. Everything in this song really happened, even his mother's heart surgery (making him question whether it was right for him to be born) and his father's liver cancer. But now his parents are fine. Suga was in a car accident while making deliveries on his scooter during his trainee days before BTS's debut, where his shoulder was torn. He said he remembers seeing the tire next to his head. He never told Big Hit about the accident, fearing he would be cut from BTS and their debut. He worked for years with extreme pain in his shoulder, until 2020, when he had shoulder surgery. In some live performances, you may see him not moving his left side, lifting his arm, or rubbing his left shoulder area. The pills you see him taking in the MV are probably painkillers, but he used to take cortisone shots before performances so he could dance. The pain he endured is heartbreaking! And that's why he's not in the military, but rather doing military service through the social service department. Amygdala (ah-mig-dah-lah) is the part of your brain that stores your traumatic memories. He's the size and shape of an almond, so you see him eating almonds in the MV. He needs his amygdala to save him from all his painful memories, asking his own brain to help him process everything he's been through, but also begging him to forget some of the things that still torment him. Oh, during the last show of his D-Day tour in Seoul, he managed to get through the door. This trauma will always be a part of him, but now he has overcome it and can move on because our AGUST D, (SUGA, MIN YOONGI) is healthy now! He knows he is not alone in this world living with depression, social anxiety and OCD. And when he openly exposes his emotional and mental baggage for the world to see, he shows us that we're all in this together. His words and lyrics offer understanding and acceptance to those who feel marginalized and stigmatized by the true anguish they feel. Suga is basically saying that it's okay to not be okay, but that we should seek help and have the chance to be our best selves. To do this, we must love each other! 💜

Part 4 was at the actual concert... he actually ended the FINAL concert day, with a DOOR that he was finally able to open it. We all cried for weeks after it.
He was never addicted to it yes it helped his pain, but when it stop working he chose to have surgery to get rid of the pain. I understand your journey with what happened to you , May God Continue to Bless You Always.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yeah I think it was around 2020 after the ON/Black Swan choreo I believe at that point he was struggling to continue dealing with the pain because it was like late 2020 when he had the surgery and MOTS7 came out February that year. I’m just glad he’s healed now.
You guys don't even know the s*** that yoongi has been through even just recently you guys need to react to last next but there is no music video just a lyric video and also speaking of a DUI, it would be interesting to see your take on the controversy. Please react to a video by an army called boracity' "Korea has a scandal problem sugas controversy" but if you do per her request please put her name in the title Thanks!
if you see suga’s personality outside of music, at first glance you’ll notice a lot of the time that he’s a very calm person. he doesn’t really express himself or show much emotion, but when it comes to his music he’s the complete opposite. music is his outlet which is why, out of all the members you’ll notice a lot of his songs and lyrics are a lot more raw, whether he’s talking about himself or criticising something it’s always just real.
listen to the last - agusd d ahi explains many things, it is one of the deepest songs he has, the last and interlude shadow, it will explain more in depth
En definitiva comprendieron el significado de la canción a profundidad. Ese era el objetivo, tanto que hace recordarnos los sucesos fuertes que hemos vivido en cada uno de nuestros momentos.
The black room is actually a depressive and traumatic state, from which Yoongi always tried to escape, August D is his version of himself who faces the pain, his strong and serious side. Agust D is the one with the injured eye, Yoongi is the only one who is "Fine", at the end it shows how Yoongi tries to get out of the depressive state, which Agust D faces. The dislocation of his shoulder lasted approximately 8 years, in 2020 he had surgery if I remember correctly, the accident was almost years before debuting as a group. But that's it, Amygdala is that part of the brain from which emotions develop in every situation that arises in your life, Yoongi "got high" on antidepressants 💔‼️, to calm that pain and that impotence of wanting to die (he tried to do it like 5-6 times) he said it himself, in his last concert before going to SM, you could see how he went through the door (of the black room in the MV) What for others is little and something insignificant in that concert, for his fans and for him, was the most important and valuable achievement, getting Yoongi, not Agust D, not Suga, out of depression. Since AgustD and Suga are their facets as artists, the face they gave to the public, not Yoongi, what was hidden behind. Simply Yoongi is a person who respects himself, is strong and brave, and achieved what many unfortunately cannot, managing to get out of the depression that lasted since his childhood, until now, as an adult.. We love Yoongi as he loves us, his fans. 💜💗
I don't speak English, maybe some things seem incoherent, but for me it was a great little contribution to know more about Yoongi, I hope you like it and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
When SUGA first hurt his shoulder, he hid it from the company, thinking they would toss him aside as damaged goods. That is how most kpop companies operated then. But his company was horrified when they found out and took him to the hospital for treatment. They also paid for his schooling so he didn’t have to worry about it (he was working that job to pay for school before). But by the time they were handling all this, BTS was debuting on a tight deadline and the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. It was a do or die moment. They had aaaaaaall the concerts and timeline ready to go… SUGA had to make a decision - either to drop out for surgery or do pain management and soldier on. He chose the latter and BTS grinded on for seven years before he had a window to get surgery. Lockdown is the only reason he finally took care of himself.
His tour concert was just amazing! It was such an emotional rollercoaster. His entire discography is made like these 3 songs: personal real shit and hype. And he took part in all the production or produced it himself entirely.
Loving how deep you go into the songs! I would highly recommend listening to Agust D ‘ The Last’ that goes deeper into his struggles & also ‘People’ & ‘So far away’ these are only lyric videos as they dont have official Music vidoes, but they are worth it , and im sure youll appreciate Yoongis work even more :)
Amygdala will never stop to hit differently. He’s a true mental health advocate. I‘m one of those who healed a lot just from knowing that he knows and openly talks about what a Dark Place your mind can be.
Before debut Suga was breaking his contract by working as a delivery man on the side. His parents could not help him out like other trainees parents because of the medical bills and his brothers school fees. He was scared to blow his chance so when he could not hide it anymore because dance training agrivated it because the dislocation was never reset properly and he got adhesions. He told the company he fell down the stairs. Even BTS only found out the truth later. The pain was so bad he thought of quitting. But by then he was one of BTS main producers and songwriters with RM. So to keep him the company agreed to pay for for his degree. They all ended up with degrees the company paid for. Mostly associated with the business and production side of the music industry. Jungkook directed one of their mvs as part of his.. Suga used to under medicate with additional cortisone injections before shows. Thats when he developed problems sleeping because of the pain so he would be in the studio most of the night. Suga worked to distract from the pain,( and because hes got OCD he even will forget to eat) and got a reputation for behaving like a grumpy grandad because he would nap whilst everbody else was fooling around. When Suga was absent for his op. BTS would leave a visable gap and take cut outs of him to interviews. Even once had a holograph of him on stage with them once.
I second this Sarah. I highly advise when you do watch Agust D to also watch Give It To Me as a double feature Demi and Mugi as they are linked and give it to me is quite a short track on it's own.
12:59 ngl I got anxiety and depression and August d/yoongi in general lowk did help me through it and to this day still is, especially ‘ SNOOZE ‘ I definitely recommend yall listen to snooze or so far away !! Before snooze was released, so far away would help me get through life simply because like the lyrics say, “everyone is running but why am I still here?” And other lyrics from this song just felt like my own thoughts and having something or someone that feels the same way you do but seeing how far they got simply keeps me pushing. If that makes sense !! So 100% recommend Snooze & So Far Away
Yoongi went through a lot during trainee and early debut era. Like he went through the car accident as a trainee and then early debut he had appendicitis and was absent from a lot of stuff. Then the next year was American Hustle Life 😭😂
Amygdala is something of a prequel to the other two. In amygdala, Yoongi is speaking very candidly about several of the experiences which caused him trauma and impacted his life. We see him get his scar, an open wound across his eye symbolizing those traumas. His younger self (without the scar) is trying to reach him, but is unable to because the trauma has him stuck inside his Amygdala. The amygdala is the part of the brain that takes over in traumatic situations (think fight/flight/freeze) and if a person experiences severe or ongoing trauma, they can get “stuck” in trauma-mode where the Amygdala stays in charge even when the threat is passed and the person makes decisions from a traumatized perspective. It wreaks havoc on body and mind. In Daechwita and Haegeum, we see him working through that trauma and fighting off the various versions of himself to be free from its effects. In Daechwita, we see that the King (whom Yoongi described as a personification of anger and ego) has a scar that is vivid and raw, barely healed at all. By contrast, the rebelling slave’s scar is scabbed over, still present, but healing slowly. We see him throw off the control his anger has had on him and kill that part of himself. Then, in Haegeum, we see the mob boss/corrupt cop with a scar that is much more scarred over. The cop is part of a corrupt system. The guy rebelling against that system has no scar at all. It has healed completely and no longer impacts the way he’s living. He is able to see through “the Matrix” as you guys called it and to choose to step out of that system and free himself, taking down the part of himself that had lived according to it. Yoongi recently went on a solo tour in which these songs were heavily featured. At the end of the very last show of the tour, the door from Amygdala appeared on the stage behind him. He finally opened that door, smiled and waved at ARMY and then crossed through to the other side, symbolizing stepping out from his trauma and putting it behind him. It was an incredible and highly personal journey that he took us on through his music. A few more notes: Yoongi never told his agency when he got hit by that car because he feared that they wouldn’t let him debut and would give up on him. He said he fell down the stairs but was fine. The agency found out years later when his shoulder got stuck and would barely move any more since he required surgery he’d never received. He was injured before 2013 and he finally got surgery in 2020 I believe. The rest of BTS also didn’t know about it for years. Also, Yoongi had to take pain pills for years to get through his concerts but as far as we are aware he did not have addiction. He did struggle greatly with depression, OCD, Anxiety, etc. and has credited Jin with helping him through his darkest times. He sought therapy and now, having healed, he’s studying psychology. Several younger artists have mentioned that he has helped them deal with their own problems.
Hi, thank you very much for reacting to Agustd. He has many songs that make you think of two miztape and his album D-Day. You should also see D-Day's final concert in Korea. It hurt us to see him cry in three songs and also to see the gate of the amygdala and to leave there and close a cycle. 💜🤍🫂
Andy's always been very open about his struggles with depression social anxiety his thoughts that you know of unpleasant things and he's talking about how he and his parents have never seen in the beginning eye to eye on his choice of careers how they didn't support him in the beginning. And how they went to therapy together after a while he talks about it in several of his solo songs so he's always been very real and raw and kind of just laid it all out there to let us know hey I struggled we all struggle
If you like this song for the lyrics and the message, you would probably also like Suga's "The Last" and "Nevermind". Very similarly both talk about life problems and struggling to get through them
You should show them “The Last” by Agust D. With that song was his first time telling us his mental problems with depression, OCD and social phobia… that song hurt so much every time 🥹
9:00 😊 if part 1 & part 2 had nothing to do with part 3, Suga would not have said this was a trilogy. Because the music and visuals don’t strike you the same as the first 2, doesn’t mean they’re not connected. Sometimes the connection is deeper than surface. EDIT: I see comments providing context and explanation, I’m learning from them too.
Part 1 he recognized his ambitious self that is aggressive and ruthless and “killing” that side of himself. Part 2 is about him regaining his artistry why he loves music. Part 3 Amyglada is him trying to deal with his trauma and healing. Amygdala is the part of your brain that creates responses to trauma. The last day of his D-Day concert he open the door and walked through. Everyone cheered that he feels he has dealt with the trauma and can finally move forward.
If history is inspiring, it is incredible what a great being he is and everything he went through to achieve what he is today, thank you for reacting, this man truly makes art.💜
This song IS very relatable for many and it helps bring clarification maybe a little faster by being an ‘artist’ but it’s not a necessity when you’re just a basic human being….we all have trauma stories so we all can relate (unfortunately😢) Suga is a GREAT trauma survivor and activist which puts him in the same vein as listening to DAX (IYKYK) and his triumphs gives many hope that would ‘normally’ give up….so ARMY may seem like fanatics (🤷🏽♀️) at times when it comes to BTS but this is because they’re not afraid to air their dirty laundry and /or ask for help when needed nor are they unwilling to recuperate what is given to them from their fandom….This is just the story of one member so imagine the concept of the remaining six having stories to tell as well….it gets deep, frustrating, thoughtful, encouraging, just everything you could imagine….BTS are literally life coaches even though they are STILL fumbling their way around life as well…. Depression brings many battles within self and sometimes you have to ‘cancel’ those demons in your head because they will manifest in physical form and next thing you know you’re doing things that’ll have you not even recognizing self….All three videos follow that path of recognition, acknowledgment, purpose and fulfillment….you have to know the enemy (self) in order to fight and only then will you find that balance within yourself I ramble….Apologies😂🤷🏽♀️😂 💕💖💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💖💕
You are correct. Rx pain meds/narcotics are highly addictive. I am guessing his pills may have been depression/anxiety meds. I love he shows that as a person who takes meds for that, too. Someone mentioned, he finally MADE IT THROUGH THE DOOR, his last concert! This song was very cathartic for him and he will tell you he is much better now. Since he had shoulder surgery, he is doing social service because his shoulder prevented him from boot camp. He has to serve longer than the others. Would LOVE to hear from him soon. Miss him terribly.

best choice, second best choice, third best choice; every choice the floot tilts more and more making it more difficult to climb out. such a great cinematography!
this is definitely (imo) yoongi’s most emotional song. the first time armys heard this, we all kinda went insane and experienced a wave of emotions. a lot of this; we didn’t exactly know about until he mentioned it in the song. some armys still refuse to listen to this song since the first time because they can’t bear the thought of yoongi going through all those things while keeping a smile on his face & doing everything he can for us. this world doesn’t deserve him. thankfully, he’s healed from this trauma and he’s let it go. but it couldn’t have been easy. also, he’s decided to let go of the name “agust d”. so he probably won’t be releasing anymore music under that name. “agust d” was the angry, hurt part of him (as you’ve seen in these past 3 mvs). but now that he’s healed and he’s not angry anymore; he doesn’t need that name anymore.
Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Moogy dude pls don't spread misinformation. No one told him not to talk about it. He made that choice himself. He was really scared. He did not want to be kicked out of the trainee system. Many of his songs have his story in them. They(Big Hit) didn't know about his accident initially but he eventually told them and the company said Yoongi should have told them sooner. They helped him with his medical expenses and his tuition fees (he was very worried about his education and him/his family not having enough money to afford it). Such a good song. This is my fav song from his album. My 2nd fav is Snooze. I love all the songs though. But these for some reason made me feel more. When i heard this for the 1st time i smiled. This MV speaks his truth. I am glad Suga talked about it more. I think the more u speak about it the easier it gets as the years pass. I am sorry he went through so much. I am sad he did not reach the door. I think this song is tricky. I think the MV enhanced the song a lot for me. Good visuals. Loved the feels. I am an empath so i take it in. Suga was sharing his trauma, his painful memories right. I was not aware his mom had heart surgery or that his dad battled cancer. We know Suga survived it was a miracle. Yoongi dealt with so much pain for so long. We were all so glad he finally had the shoulder surgery in 2020. They are so strong all of them. They are our strength and we theirs. I was finally able to cry for him at last. My therapist said I am not afraid of death. I faced my death already dealing with cancer. So his truth was not that shocking to me. But still I wanted to cry for him because he can't. Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army 💟 I Purple Jimin 💜said on 4/25/23 People with PTSD have the same issues with their amygdala. Not being able to process emotion and trauma properly. People who suffer with PTSD in multiple forms would understand this mv straight off. It's the whole process of nightmares vs flashbacks. Flashbacks being more of a process for PTSD sufferers. I have Complex PTSD and hypervigilance so i understand this mv with all its little nuances. I respect Yoongi so much that his been able to be so open with these issues. Alix DriftwoodDragons said on 4/25/23 I think the trilogy is about slowly recovering from trauma... the Amygdala MV explains the key to understanding the other two MVs, in that it shows that the scar is a mark of a character that is acting on their trauma - Yoongi has been slowly healing over the years. In Daechwita (D-2), he replaced "blond Agust D" from the first mixtape (he was blond for the MVs he released in 2016), who was a king who ruled out of anger... in Haegeum, a new Yoongi who DOESN'T have a scar, he's healed from his trauma - or at least has learned how to have it not continue to hurt him any more by self-inflicting wounds in response to it - and Haegeum Yoongi replaces D-2 Yoongi whose scar is old but still there, and is ruling in a civil manner but perhaps too caught up in the flexing aspect (the fancy suit, the slick image). I think Haegeum is the end on a note of Yoongi being free, and living the way he wants. Amygdala is needed to explain that key though - what Yoongi had to go through mentally to get to that point. The fact that he's sharing this with us, to me, means that he's reached a healthy place where he feels strong and recovered enough to share the story. Even if he can't put a firm happy ending on it, because you can't do that with mental struggles - in the latest episode of Suchwita, he even tells RM that he gets low every 2-3 years, but has learned how to handle it better as time has passed, and now RM thinks he's the most positive person on the team. Really, Yoongi is absolutely amazing. I love him so much and he deserves all the hugs in the world. @charethiebeldad8303 said on 5/4/23 His trying to save himself, but failed so he just accepted the other side of him wholeheartedly and later they both find healing,. I always felt like Yoongi storyboarded these MVs the way he did for a reason - that they can touch on both his personal journey, but also the problems with the industry/society that he sees. I also loved Carlos' comment about Yoongi putting himself in both the hero and villain role, as a commentary that he's also part of/a product of the society/industry that he's criticizing, but that just means he knows exactly what he's talking about. Anyway, great discussion! @heathermurray7130 said on 5/21/23 He couldn't open the door because you can't open the door. Once you have experienced trauma, it stays with you forever. I think that if you've struggled with your own inner demons, depression, mental health, pain, medications etc you have a different perspective on this song and music video. Agust D has many songs that are quite dark and deep. I hope you listen to his whole albums. 💜
Please react to his song "The Last." He goes even deeper into his personal struggles, both as an artist and as an individual. As your friend mentioned, Suga/Agust D is known for his blunt honesty in his music and interviews. He’s been recognized as the "savage" member for years. He was the reason I got into BTS, and I can definitely see you all appreciating the rapper lineup. I really respect you for taking the time to react. Personally, I don’t think you have to enjoy every song you hear-music is all about personal preference, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Overall, I truly appreciate how open-minded you’ve been in your reactions. Thank you!
Great vids been a fan of BTS for years but Agust D is my favorite as a SOLO artist❤ He is very talented and REAL! I Never get tired of reactions of Agust D ❤
This is actually the prelude to the other two stories and tells how he got the scar which is the dark and greedy survivor part of him. So it’s this story then Daechwita and Haegeum. He got his injury working to get money to debut cause the company was so broke they were in the brink of bankruptcy. And he had to choose whether to eat or take the bus to the studio. He took the bus. He didn't tell the company about his Injury because he thought hey would remove him from the group. He got shoulder surgery in 2020. The medicine is also for his anxiety not just his pain. Also the amygdala is the part of the brain that protects you from terrible memories and locks away the pain by keeping you from making the same mistakes. There is a book called Almond about a mom who feeds her son almonds because he has a bad amygdala and the amygdala’s are shaped liked almonds so she hopes eating almonds will help, so he’s referencing that book when you see him in the green hoody snacking. His solo concert the stage would get smaller as you go through the songs and after the last song he would literally just turn around and dip no bye or nothing. Then on his LAST show he finally walked through the door and smiled and waved before he left. Then we ARMY realized that the staged looked just like the room in his head in this mv. Fucking genius honestly. It’s him showing us he finally healed by walking through the door that he couldn’t reach in the mv.
When he's saying I don't know your name he's talking about the emotions that's one of the things that therapist I see is that when we are trying to process our traumas the reason we struggle is because we don't have the right language to identify and label what it is we're feeling so every time he's saying I don't know your name that's what he's talking about he's saying he didn't know what it was he was feeling he didn't have the language but now he does he has the words he has the language
This song hits so hard that I actually tattooed Amygdala on my collar bone Also, if you want more of his deep songs, recommend The Last and Dear My Friend
Now Listen to The Last...it was written before these but it les you into his head. He never took drugs as such, ati depressants and pain killers he was never in addiction though. Listen to, Dear My Friend ,he tells you his opinions on drugs
please watch his solo concert songs : dear my friend (where he speaks on a real experience in the past with one of his closest friends who changed, went to prison, got caught up in drugs, his live performance is heartbreaking and he ended up in tears but still continued to rap, he also rapped it in front of the other members whilst they sat in the audience and it was heartbreaking) Never-mind, and The Last, live, with lyrics. Yoongi goes deep into his life, feelings, problems and fighting his demons. Never-mind resonates a lot with me, especially the lyric "if you think youre gonna crash, accelerate harder, you idiot." he strives to use his experiences to help people going through similar things. Hes an amazing songwriter and artist, there really is no one like him.
I want to provide some better context The meal is the small almond( like the things he’s eating in the video) part of your brain that stores and controls fear response for example, if you almost drowned when you’re younger, even if you are Olympic quality swimmer when you’re older, you’re still going to have a fear of water a little bit. If you freeze the video where he’s popping the pills they’re actually sleeping medication. Young used to be so stressed that he literally couldn’t sleep for more than two hours. The car accident happened when he was a trainee and he didn’t tell anyone because he was fearful of being kicked out of the group. And positive note, even though he’s unable to escape his head in this music video when suga went on tour he had a door at the end of every show and on the very last performance he was able to open up that door and exit the stage proof that he finally gone through that cathartic experience

Amygdala is the origin of all his pain that made him create his alternate selves as a defense survival mechanism. The King and all Agust D’s were born from his real life struggles.
in Daechwita lyrics, SUGA/AgustD says "I'm not a weak pill-popper like you" while he's coming for the merciless/arrogant king version of himself. safe to assume, he fought through a lot of self-conflict trying to keep it together to realize his dreams. his self-awareness and loyalty to his team is top tier. SUGA, among the older members, was always heavily involved in every way to keep the group together when their company was near bankrupt (hence, why he was working a delivery job during his trainee/debut years), and as one of the main songwriters in the group from the start. to fall into addiction - like so many musicians coming up - was a non-option for himself. in several behind the scenes videos, SUGA can be seen being administered varying forms of alternative (eastern) topical treatments for his shoulder injury after performing. my guy's a focused fighter - partly why he's so admired.
Just to correct you he worked as a delivery driver (amongst a few other jobs) PREDEBUT. he was not working part time jobs when they debuted as BTS, because he wouldn't have had the time, like at all
He never told the agency about the accident because at that time, he was working to earn some money to survive and buying food for the members. Big Hit was out of money, so he was very scared to get kick out before debuting.

The scar represents his alter ego Agust D. The Amygdala is the part of the brain where memories are stored. He is letting go of this persona now. Listen to The Last from Agust D.
I think he said that he fell down the stairs, if I'm not mistaken ...

That´s it!
Suga is too deep for most people to comprehend the intricate meaning of his work. The explanation videos are really helpful, especially when his work talks about Korean culture.

6:05 it's not drugs it's medication. His shoulder had him fucked up for almost 10yrs.
Drugs are so illegal in Korea that you get 2-3yr imprisonment for smoking weed.
No, they were antidepressants and anxiolytics
He also seem a to not like people that take drugs because of how much he talks about pill pipers in his songs and also seems that the friend in dear my friend did those
@potaxianadominguez5326 how does that differ from medication? I thought he was also taking pain killers
*Meanings for the song titles*
*Daechwita* - is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the ARMY is marching or as a static performance usually when the King is arriving. (Suga aka Agust D meant the BTS ARMY to be implied.)
*Haegeum* - has two meanings.
*My own thoughts on Agust D's Triology:*
Yoongi has shared his mental health issues with us since the beginning, and he stated how some of his roughest times were in the early days, like from 2014 to 2016, how he developed social anxiety at age 18, he was dealing with depression and OCD.
But he is definitely not done yet
Finally, Yoongi went on a world tour, after this album was released, and at the Final concert, he was very emotional, and had his BTS Bros. and his PEERS there with him. on a couple occasions, ARMY's sang the parts because he was so emotional he couldn't sing. And at the very end, the door he couldn't go through in this Music Video is on the stage, and he's able to walk through now. That tells me that he has healed and accepted those parts of himself, and he can move forward and let go now. You could see the relief on his face and the love as he waved good bye and closed the door. EPIC MOMENT.
thank you so much for this!
He did a world solo concert in April to August last year and in the very last days concert he opened the door and went out that was to say he was free from it !
That's beautiful and wonderful to hear.

Actually, the accident that is shown in the MV was more severe irl (maybe obvious idk) from what I remember, he was dragged underneath the car and when he opened his eyes the wheel was centimeters away from his head
Yes!
Yes, and it was a quite severe injury...

Copy pasting my reply from another comment:
You're right but just one small correction- Yoongi eventually told the company during predebut about his injury even tho he was afraid of being let go/not getting to debut and the company said that he should have told them earlier.
And he eventually debuted with the rest of the members and as they say the rest is history
Yoongi only told the members later on during their Wong tour in 2017 (from the Burn the stage Documentary released in 2018) that he was in a car accident while doing deliveries and the rest of the members were like shocked then they then said "so that's why you had those lyrics in your mixtape about holding on to your broken shoulder because of your delivery job" (paraphrasing ofc but the guys said something along those lines)

Part 4 was at the actual concert... he actually ended the FINAL concert day, with a DOOR that he was finally able to open it. We all cried for weeks after it.
Would love to see you react to the BTS guide now!
Same but at the same time I want them to do the rest of the members a solo song from each before it
It's better to just let them react to the music
He was doing all the dancing in his songs in so much pain and finally had the operation in Covid when they couldn’t do nothing!
En definitiva comprendieron el significado de la canción a profundidad. Ese era el objetivo, tanto que hace recordarnos los sucesos fuertes que hemos vivido en cada uno de nuestros momentos.
Next “the last”by agustd. The last is my favorite song because the song is more deep 💜
Amygdala is one of my favorites from suga 💜💜💜
Ummm let's not lie and spread misinformation because Yoongi has never said he tried 5-6 to k*ll himself.
If you want something really deep listen to the last - agusd d, so far away or interlude shadow there he says everything he feels
They had aaaaaaall the concerts and timeline ready to go…
SUGA had to make a decision - either to drop out for surgery or do pain management and soldier on. He chose the latter and BTS grinded on for seven years before he had a window to get surgery. Lockdown is the only reason he finally took care of himself.
I literally cried when I first heard this. So authentic, so Yoongi
Yoongi healed many Armies with his lyrics😢. Please react to more Agust D including Suga Interlude Shadow please
I don't think anyone has said this before but I like how you guys change seats every video. And never stay in one spot.
Suga is nicknamed Savage king, Savage Suga, etc. He won't hesitate to say what's on his mind
Wait till yall hear more of their songs like born singer and also so many of their meaningful songs they hit you in the feels in so many ways as well.

Amygdala will never stop to hit differently. He’s a true mental health advocate. I‘m one of those who healed a lot just from knowing that he knows and openly talks about what a Dark Place your mind can be.
Thank you for the reaction!! 🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️ Stay healthy,Stay Blessed! 😇💌😇
Even once had a holograph of him on stage with them once.
thanks for the reaction guys 💜💜 🤩, NEXT PLEASE AGUSTD BY AGUSTD🤭🤩🔥🔥

If you don't know Suga is the ambassador for the NBA in America. Every time Suga goes to America he always goes to attend a basketball game.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yoongi went through a lot during trainee and early debut era. Like he went through the car accident as a trainee and then early debut he had appendicitis and was absent from a lot of stuff. Then the next year was American Hustle Life 😭😂
8:42 no último dia do seu show na turnê ele atravessa aquela porta sorrindo para nós, está tudo bem agora 💜
Guys you need also to watch suga's song "the last" it's really emotional ❤
The Last should be next…I personally think that is the prequel to Amygdala Aqua will for sure appreciate the soul of the song.💜
D-DAY concert is a must... 🔥🔥🔥
With that song was his first time telling us his mental problems with depression, OCD and social phobia… that song hurt so much every time 🥹
I love your reaction videos
Love this reaction guys , keep it up 💜
React to his other solo raw songs, first love ,the last. He also has a single with juice world
9:00 😊 if part 1 & part 2 had nothing to do with part 3, Suga would not have said this was a trilogy.
This song is about all his hardships that he went thru since he was born until now. Those are pain pills for the pain for his shoulder.
In his final concert he was able to get out of that door which means everything is fine now...luv you Suga❤❤❤
DEAR MY FRIEND live 😢😢😢
He did get out. That happened in Part 2. Part 3 is the prequel, explaining how it all started.
Depression brings many battles within self and sometimes you have to ‘cancel’ those demons in your head because they will manifest in physical form and next thing you know you’re doing things that’ll have you not even recognizing self….All three videos follow that path of recognition, acknowledgment, purpose and fulfillment….you have to know the enemy (self) in order to fight and only then will you find that balance within yourself
I ramble….Apologies😂🤷🏽♀️😂

Reaction agust d dear my friend, and snooze
You are correct. Rx pain meds/narcotics are highly addictive. I am guessing his pills may have been depression/anxiety meds. I love he shows that as a person who takes meds for that, too.
Someone mentioned, he finally MADE IT THROUGH THE DOOR, his last concert! This song was very cathartic for him and he will tell you he is much better now.
Since he had shoulder surgery, he is doing social service because his shoulder prevented him from boot camp. He has to serve longer than the others.
Would LOVE to hear from him soon. Miss him terribly.

Pleasee , reaction "Amygdala " concert ❤
Put on a mask! You should react to the entire Love Yourself series. That is a trip
this is definitely (imo) yoongi’s most emotional song. the first time armys heard this, we all kinda went insane and experienced a wave of emotions. a lot of this; we didn’t exactly know about until he mentioned it in the song. some armys still refuse to listen to this song since the first time because they can’t bear the thought of yoongi going through all those things while keeping a smile on his face & doing everything he can for us. this world doesn’t deserve him. thankfully, he’s healed from this trauma and he’s let it go. but it couldn’t have been easy. also, he’s decided to let go of the name “agust d”. so he probably won’t be releasing anymore music under that name. “agust d” was the angry, hurt part of him (as you’ve seen in these past 3 mvs). but now that he’s healed and he’s not angry anymore; he doesn’t need that name anymore.
*_Please react to 'Interlude: Shadow' it's also by Sugaaa and it's VERY GOOD , It has a great meaning_* ❤😊
Borahae. -NY USA 2019 Army 💟

People with PTSD have the same issues with their amygdala.

I think the trilogy is about slowly recovering from trauma... the Amygdala MV explains the key to understanding the other two MVs, in that it shows that the scar is a mark of a character that is acting on their trauma - Yoongi has been slowly healing over the years.

I really appreciate the interpretation of "green Suga/almond-eating Suga" because I honestly didn't know how to interpret that character and what Carlos said makes SO MUCH SENSE and also gives me closure for the MV, when I didn't feel like it had much closure before.

He couldn't open the door because you can't open the door. Once you have experienced trauma, it stays with you forever. You can't "save" yourself from it, you can manage it, and you can give it less power over you but in the end, it is a part of us, you can't cut it out. I think that moment when he slides down the door is that moment of acceptance.

During the tour the stage was basically that room, it had rain and thunder in it, fire too, the stage getting smaller and smaller as the pieces of flooring disappeared. Until finally at the last show Yoongi opened that door and left the place of sorrow, like literally there was a door on stage and everything. When i tell you army's BAWLED like babies that day...its an understatement 😅

He has mentioned about his mother's heart surgery in Moving On, which is a song from their 2015 album, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt 1.
I think that if you've struggled with your own inner demons, depression, mental health, pain, medications etc you have a different perspective on this song and music video.
Agust D has many songs that are quite dark and deep.
I hope you listen to his whole albums. 💜
Omg this song 🤧💜💜
мне нравится парень в маске для сна,так правильно про бтс рассказывает)
This song hits so hard that I actually tattooed Amygdala on my collar bone
Also, if you want more of his deep songs, recommend The Last and Dear My Friend
This Suga song is really cool and emotional. 💜
Now Listen to The Last...it was written before these but it les you into his head.
He never took drugs as such, ati depressants and pain killers he was never in addiction though.
Listen to, Dear My Friend ,he tells you his opinions on drugs
please watch his solo concert songs :
dear my friend (where he speaks on a real experience in the past with one of his closest friends who changed, went to prison, got caught up in drugs, his live performance is heartbreaking and he ended up in tears but still continued to rap, he also rapped it in front of the other members whilst they sat in the audience and it was heartbreaking)
Never-mind, and The Last, live, with lyrics.
Amygdala is the part in our brain that is responsible for memories and emotions
His 7 tattoo is right next to his scar on his shoulder to.
I want to provide some better context
The meal is the small almond( like the things he’s eating in the video) part of your brain that stores and controls fear response for example, if you almost drowned when you’re younger, even if you are Olympic quality swimmer when you’re older, you’re still going to have a fear of water a little bit.

You're right but just one small correction- Yoongi eventually told the company during predebut about his injury even tho he was afraid of being let go/not getting to debut and the company said that he should have told them earlier.
Miss you mi angel Yoongi 🥺
Amygdala is the origin of all his pain that made him create his alternate selves as a defense survival mechanism. The King and all Agust D’s were born from his real life struggles.
In this song he is learning to control his emotions and dealing with his painful memories
in Daechwita lyrics, SUGA/AgustD says "I'm not a weak pill-popper like you" while he's coming for the merciless/arrogant king version of himself. safe to assume, he fought through a lot of self-conflict trying to keep it together to realize his dreams. his self-awareness and loyalty to his team is top tier.
