Daechwita is a genre of traditional Korean music that consist of military music played by wind and percussion instruments. It translates to “great blowing (like wind) and hitting”
Adding to this, it was traditionally played anytime the king left the palace so all the people knew he was coming, so they could pay respects etc. Suga is basically saying he’s the king and y’all better play it loud AF. Lol
@@bunnyboopbubblesbcubed8380 yep! The king never leaves the palace without his ARMY! 😉💜💜 Must’ve been cool to have a soundtrack for life lol. 😆 But yea it was also generally used as military music.

Cameraman brought something up I never thought about despite the 50 times I've seen this video. And then I suddenly realized everything modernized is connected to him. The clothing, the car. And everything in "the past" is connected to his past self. There are almost 3 Agust D's here IMO (I've seen other's mention this too). The peasant in the beginning is still in the past with his clothing, so I consider that the Agust D that was born a slave. Then he became a king, and the 3rd more evolved iteration is Agust D. So he went from being in the gutter, to being high in the sky, to being in the middle with his "feet on the ground".

To the best of my knowledge, the only CGI was insertion of a rural mountainous background as the actual site is currently surrounded by the urban sprawl that emerged surrounding the ancient site.
That cartoon drawing of Bang PD was originally drawn by Jungkook, it is remarkably lifelike. Bang Si Hyuk is the guy who made Bighit and recruited our guys to become BTS. The Meaning Behind The Song: Daechwita by Agust D/Suga Daechwita is a powerful song released by Agust D, also known as Suga from the popular South Korean group BTS. It is a mix of traditional Korean music and modern hip-hop, showcasing Suga’s unique and versatile musical style. The song holds significant meaning and tackles various themes, including identity, history, and personal growth. Suga, as both an artist and a composer, often uses his music as a medium to express his inner thoughts and feelings. Daechwita is no exception. The lyrics delve into his journey as an artist, reflecting his determination to break free from societal expectations and find his own voice. Through his introspective verses, Suga explores the complexities of fame and success, grappling with the pressure of living up to the high standards set by others. Moreover, the song is deeply rooted in Korean history and tradition. “Daechwita” refers to a genre of music that originated during the Joseon Dynasty, which featured military-style instruments and was played during royal processions. Suga skillfully incorporates these traditional sounds into the modern hip-hop beat, creating a fusion that symbolizes the collision of the past and present. This blend of old and new highlights the importance of embracing one’s heritage while embracing change and advancing forward.
Daechwita is a war cry from the Joseon era after returning from battle with a victory. This is the wind instruments and sounds made from the music played then. Min Yongi (Suga) is a real descendant from that Min dynasty and his ancestors were king and Queens, if they still existed in this day and age, Suga would be a prince today.
He wouldn't be a prince lol but he has relations/distant relations to the Min clan who ruled at some point a few centuries ago (i cant remember what it was exactly but i for sure remember that he wouldn't be a prince or anything like that in present day, it has to do with which Min lineage he comes from exactly. Like Joon and Tae are from the same Kim clan while Jin is from another Kim clan [if im not mixing them up😭😭 my memory is failing me right now] but they're not related if that makes sense. Dont remember the specific clan names of the BTS Kim line but u can look it up)
@@g100-w6j the Yeoheung Min clan to which Yoongi belongs were often high ranking officials at the Joseon royal court. They never ruled as kings or queens in their own right. Some families within the clan could be considered aristocrats and it’s from those that occasionally daughters married into the royal family, sometimes the king, sometimes princes. The Joseon royal family from its beginning in the late 14th century to its end in 1910 has the family/dynastic name Yi. That family is still around and Yoongi is definitely not a member of it. My understanding is that Yoongi is **possibly** distantly related to the most famous of those Min daughters, the 19th century Empress Myeongseong (aka Queen Min). Again, she was not born royal, she married the king. Jin and Tae are from the same Kim clan, I believe. Their ‘royal’ connection is even weaker. Tae is said to be descended from King Sinmu of Silla, one of the predecessor countries that became part of Korea, via his third son. Thing is, Sinmu reigned (briefly) well over a thousand years ago and the way genetics works means that Tae likely shares his ‘descent’ with millions of other people. The Emperor Charlemagne ruled in Europe at the same time and he is thought to have well over 100 million living ‘descendants’ in modern Europe.

The song is the lead single from the mixtape, "D-2." The song's title refers to traditional Korean military music. The arrangement is usually performed using wind instruments and percussion instruments. In true military style, this is done while marching and wearing appropriate military attire. The video is in keeping with this theme, presenting the sageuk story and was shot at MBC DaeJanggeum Park. Many Korean dramas were also filmed here, a genre of traditional South Korean music that consists mainly of military motifs played on wind and percussion instruments, often performed during marching. The line "born slave, raised to king" appears in the 2012 film. Masquerade. The music video for the song is inspired by that film.

Bang PD was the founder and CEO of Big Hit Entertainment where BTS came from. Then years later BH restructured to HYBE and that the original recipe Big Hit Entertainment became the label BigHit Music (as a subsidiary of HYBE). Bang PD also made sure to separate BigHit from HYBE so they could stay a private company and operate independently with BTS as they’ve always done. After all that, Bang PD appointed another CEO for HYBE, so he can step down from that role just to focus on doing what he loves, which is being a music producer (which is what he has always been before even starting BH) and just be the Chairman of HYBE.
You will notice that the street AGUST D has 6 in his crew. They represent the other members. They always have Easter eggs in their videos to acknowledge the rest of the members.
daechwita is actually a sonically and lyrically genius song that incorporates traditional korean wind instruments historically used in royal processions. yoongi uses this to create the 'boy with humble roots vs. powerful greedy king' battle we see in the MV. essentially, daechwita proposes the question and opens discussion on how power, greed, and other outside factors (in his case, fame and money) can literally change an entire person, and is that change ultimately for the good or the bad
Daechwita is a representation of Suga’s constant battle against himself and how the desire to achieve his dreams have given him the courage to do everything to achieve being on top, and the emptiness he feels even now when he has everything he wants. This MV references parts of Korean culture as well. Set in a royal palace, the video sees Agust D take on two opposing characters. He is a humble boy who represents the Korean people and is also the king. He faces himself in an endless battle, his revolutionary and humble side against the powerful, cruel and dangerous part of his personality. Daechwita gives a powerful message about being proud of our roots, of being able to become what we most want despite adversity. At the same time, the dark side of power is also made clear, where having what we most wanted is sometimes not enough. I can’t wait to see you guys react to the next 2 songs! You guys were definitely onto something!💜 💜
If you get into the BTS discography, their music eras also relates to the concepts in Agust D’s trilogy especially Map of the Soul 7. RM’s Intro: Persona, Suga’s Intro: Shadow and JHope’s Outro: Ego. MOTS7 is about bts coming to peace with their artistry and their fame. The Agust D trilogy focuses on the same concepts but how it affected Yoongi personally-his mental health and his struggles coming up as an artist vs being famous. The two Agust D’s are part of Suga. The blonde Agust D has become a persona that’s about being powerful and famous. Black hair Yoongi is the Shadow persona representing artistry fighting fame and power. When you guys watch Haegeum and Amygdala, that Agust D is the Ego, taking control and acknowledging and accepting the other parts of him and finding peace with it.

Just like RM (Got six bullets in my tongue /Six snakes in my lung), Yoongi makes reference to the other six members of BTS. In this video the peasant Suga has a crew of six guys. There are two nods to Army in it as well - when peasant suga grabs the car keys and walks toward the camera with the 'crew' behind him, there is a girl sitting and watching...she's us. The other is the Colt ARMY revolver at the end. Mugi - you make me happy. 🤗💜

When you're ready, "A Long and Helpful Guide to BTS 2024" is an excellent video of all seven members and shows their much more current work (as the title implies, it is very long and usually reacted to in parts). You may also want to react to their difficult rise (hate, envy, death threats and much more) to the stardom they now achieved, by watching '" BTS Hardships 2013-2021" They have really gone through a lot and this is a major reason Army is so very protective of them. Unfortunately, a lot of this hate continues today.

@@mugiOT7 siblings things I know😂
@@mugiOT7 which concert/tour did you got to? Im curious and highly jealous lol i still haven't seen them live. Incant wait for their tour (or maybe Jhope tour🤩 idk hes cooking something so its a possibility too)
@@mugiOT7 ohh wowwwww I just know it was spectacular. I watched the PTD concerts through livestreams (either streamed by their label or I was rawdogging with 480p quality streamed by armys in the crowd lmao I don't exactly remember) but I know being in person has to be something else. I would have been in shock and I already suffer from post concert depression idk what I'll do with myself when I actually go to one lol 😭
Anyways, I'll stop yapping and just say that I hope you (and your friends, the demi gods, if they want) manage to get tickets for the upcoming tour. It's gonna be one for the history books and I also have to survive the bloodbath that the ticketing process is gonna be like
Really enjoyed and appreciate your reactions and commentary reflections at the end. Thanks.
I so love you, Mugi!!
Borahae 💜
You showed them it all
Jin and JK... Explained the concept.
Lots of love from Brazil 💜
GUYSSS you're late... I always see yours videos at my lunch time.. now have to see it during work time 😂😂😂 no way I'm gona wait
I am continually impressed by your interpretation. Since you’re an artist you understand where the tannies are coming from 💜
Guys, there's a GREAT video explaining this song, you should watch it! it's AGUST D - DAECHWITA '대취타' Explained By A Korean
First of all: Thank you for your service. May you guys always stay safe. I appreciate you keeping an open mind and I enjoy hearing your perspectives.
*_Please!!! Also react to 'Interlude: Shadow' is also by Suga!!! Very good and with a deep message!!!_* ❤😊
Everyone has already told you what Daechwita means, so I just wanted to say thank you for starting the trilogy. Daechwita is my favorite mv ever. I've watched it at least 100 times and I see something new each time. Can't wait for Haegum! 💜💜💜
A to the G to the U to the STD!!!! thanks for the reaction guys next is agust d by agust d 🤩😍😍💜💜💜💜
Was waiting for it for a while now, lets gooooo!
Obrigada pela sua reação 🇧🇷💜
Daechwita is the music that was played when the King left the palace or was returning to the palace..a marching song for the king.
Lots of symbolism exactly. Agust D is always battling himself and the system.
Yeeeeeeees finally, his 2 mixtapes and full album are fucking crazy, it's really impressive, please react more to Agust D🔥💜
Demi Aqua... So glad you checkin this out.. your boy is true Army... Love you guys💜🫰
There's an explanation video on Daechwita by DKDKTV I think you would find very helpful.
Yes! It's an English explanation by a Korean. He's really good in explaining the cultural references and wordplay...
I don't understand anything they say, but I'm active in the caption, and just the name haters, the B-ARMY already recognizes from afar (I'm 🇧🇷 Brasil)
You got the gist of the theme of the MV 😊
Agust-D is a must react song too!! Its by Suga and one of the most famous hit songs of him
Daechwita is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the KING is marching…. announcing the KING
You did good Grasshopper!! Keep going - Suga IS genius!!!💜
There is also a DKDTV explanation video for Daechwita. There is a lot of symbolism to Korean History as well.
Your analysis is very perceptive 👍
Yes young man, you got it!!! in one.
Jimin (black belt, kendo, etc) helped Suga with the sword scene :)
No he didn’t lol wtf. SUGA trained for 2 days for the sword scene. Jimin wasn’t there. 😆
❤❤❤ great reaction and analysis ❤❤
daechwita is actually a sonically and lyrically genius song that incorporates traditional korean wind instruments historically used in royal processions. yoongi uses this to create the 'boy with humble roots vs. powerful greedy king' battle we see in the MV.
essentially, daechwita proposes the question and opens discussion on how power, greed, and other outside factors (in his case, fame and money) can literally change an entire person, and is that change ultimately for the good or the bad
Suga's flow ! >>>
You can hear the traditional instruments. In Suchwita which is Suga’s chat show episode 27 he talks to the person he cowrote Daechwita with. They did it in one week. You might want to check out Suchwita sometime. All the BTS members have been on.
Dude on the left put that lamp shade over his head...took me OUT!! 🤣
ESCUCHEN" Agust d" les encantara el flow k carga mi hombre un artista completo compositor y productor de sus propias canciones 😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Podríais ver el detrás de cámara, para ver bien la localización, es divertido de ver
Bang Si-Hyuk, also called Hitman Bang, is a musician, lyricist, producer. Bang PD is the founder and was the CEO of BigHit Ent.; then became CEO of Hybe, now he is Chairman of the Board. He stepped down because he wanted to focus again on music production.
This Korean historical theme is for real! This is how things were! It is fascinating to me!
Military music played ahead of the King when he walked the village...Like saying "Here comes the King"💜
The whole group does this song in a live performance Festa 2021. Everyone rapped.
There is an explanation video to Daechwita on the channel DKDKTV.
Good reaction & interpretation.
Daechwita is the song the play for the king when the king arrives
Amygdala is pronounced - A myg (mig) dala An "almond shaped" region of the brain primarily associated with emotional processes. Amygdala is my favorite of the three.. very emotional. Take note of the scar by his eye in this ..
Unfortunately, a lot of this hate continues today.
like said is a military music that it was played when the King was passing on the streets or at events ...
"It's another rapper - it's Jin" 😂😂😂
I mean, you're not wrong...
Traditional music announcing the king or ARMY.
There is nothing better Than a rapper flexing about his rapping skills and backing it Up no many rappers can do It nowadays to the A to the U to the G to U to the STD
15:45 EXACTLY I never listened to rap b/4 BTS--I didn't like American rap. J Cole has ft w/JHope. BTW, Korean history has Japanese occupation and thus Japanese influence.
There is an explanation video of this like for Daeng
Daechwita is the song they plan for the king...so I'm the fucking king play my song when I come in.
Suga is an Ambassador for the NBA.
Amygdala pronounced..Ah.Mig.Da La
Is the part of the brain where trauma is stored.
React to Shadow. This song relate too
Bang PD their gen director
You have to react to a guide to bts.
I don’t think it’s time for them to.
For the second part haegum you probably won't be able to catch all the lyrics in the music video so it would be really interesting to see you guys break down the lyrics after you watch the video oh and also when you when you do get to haegum you should know that it's a Korean instrument but it's also a word that means to release from bands basically freedom
"I always set traps in my music. You know how you set traps to catch cockroaches? They always come and die in the trap. The songs “Daechwita” and “What Do You Think?” are my traps. I guess those people just never learn. They always come and step on my traps. They should have learned something by now but they always seem to step in the traps still. I just laugh when I see that." -Suga
Not y'all doing a Suga reaction without JC that's his probable bias 😔
I suggest you to react also to "Interlude" Shadows, is by Suga too and is very meaningful song!
Fun fact in case u dk, suga is the ambassador for NDA and SAMSUNG
We'd also like to see the lyrics, please!!!💜
Amazing reaction 💜🌎💜🫰🏻
I like the dude with the black cap , He's really trying bruh, he messed up sometimes but he's kinda cute ❤ , he's not that interested but, He lil bit interested I sense that.. I like this guy
Also, it's a very historic building that he is using
Next.. August D..by August D 💜
guys hey. My TKT compilation for you when u gonna check it!! - I just asked cz bts content is so vast as a group or as solos. That's why u won't have time for the TKT compilation if u kept reacting to the songs only. That's why I want u to check the compilation to give u an overvall of bts in general. Then u can dive more into their content. Tnks tho for accepting the compilation ❤❤
It means the music was used for when ARMY marched
ah-MIG-dah-la is how it is usually pronounced in English just since you weren’t sure. Suga is pronouncing it the way it is pronounced in Korean.
Daechwita is what people yell as the band plays when the king enters the court. Think Korean version of all hail the king.
LA, Korean gang bangers. Calm down. Loggers wore plaid shirts before hoods decided to make it their own. Note: Koreans and Latinos 🫰🏾 DKDKNY has a video explanation
please watch the whole group now guys
