I can imagine my older brother dancing and dressing like this back in the 60s. I was a kid but remembering him looking really handsome (had similar haircut, but fair haired) and dressing really smart. Loved a mohair suit.. Remember the sisters next door flirting with him cos he was good looking AND had a decent car!! Remember him getting ready to go out on a Saturday night. I can even 'smell' the Brut if I close my eyes! My sisters said he used to sit in a cold bath of water in his Levi's to shrink-fit them! Being the youngest of 5, there was a lot of good music in my house: soul, Mowtown then Ska, oh and my mums Sam Cooke❤.... I was absolutely spoilt!!
This isn't northern soul dancing, is it? This is more of the cool mod groove. Northern soul dancing involves a lot of walking about in different directions covering huge distances. Which is why a lot of overweight people are into northern soul. Northern soul, so I'm told, is basically a weight loss club to soul music.

Definitely not northern soul dancing. This is the James brown shuffle. I’ve been on the scene donkeys years and the N S dance is all about sliding steps.

Back in the day if you opened ur gob with that shite at a niter u would have got a dig in the mouth. Nsoul niters were not for the faint hearted.
