Honestly u have become the arsenal therapist and its much much needed, I was literally typing in the analogy of city and liverpool losing their entire back lines, the standards we are being put against are crazy. Aren't we like on the same points total as last season at the same time? Again WITH THE CONTEXT of this years fixtures to last its incredible actually. With an easier December and tough fixtures picking up in April we are on course of repeating if not beating last seasons point tally. Thanks for the videos honestly, this period of weaker arsenal form came right during my exam week if I didn't need more things to stress about.
3pts worse off. After 9 games played we were 6W 3D 0L having played Utd, Spurs and City at home and Chelsea away. +10GD last season vs +7GD this season. 1 less clean sheet too this season
Nothing but fax-everyone is panicking abt being 5 points off the top when we’ve been down to 10 men in 3/4 games and the other game we didn’t have any of our 1st choice defenders(Ben White is debatable)on the pitch
Such refreshing takes which The Arsenal fans need to hear, too many football fans think our (online) fanbase are toxicity and over reactionary so glad to see this perspective from the best Arsenal fan channel out there
I would love for you to be my son-in-law... what a pleasure it would be to talk to you and see our beloved Arsenal. Your comments are so assertive and many times you illuminate edges of the game that I didn't get to see. I am subscribed to your channel, I support according to my possibilities and I will try to continue doing so. You have a great friend in Chile. Big hug COYG Andres
I like that u are a cool-headed and rational guy who always tries his best to not go overboard and also at the end of the day i agree with your conclusion. But i think that talking about most of these things is just "pointless". We are the best team in the league, tactically and pound for pound, its that simple. We were better than pool even with serious personel misses and everyone else we have played this season. We were already there last year but this season we evolved into an even better team. We can maybe talk about injuries bcs it is an important factor but at the end of the day we have no idea what to do with that. Arsenal did what they could, the depth is there (I also believe that zinchenko might still be injured). I dont think that saying 'well we have a lot of injuries and wait for them to come back' is a real conversation, its just obvious. The recurring theme that defies this season for Arsenal is that we get refereed differently as other teams. In the last 2 years i have watched this bias and disgusting decisions become gradually more and more blatant. And i dont want to talk about it being a conscious/unconscious bias, corruption of whatever, because it just doesnt matter. We will never find out or know for sure and cant do anything with the reasons behind it. What we do know, after the start of this season, for sure is that the refereeing puts us at a genuine disadvantage in the title race. I really dont like the word cheating but it actually might apply here. Decisions are being given against that are literally never given against anyone else. Rules being twisted and applied in a way that they can use it to fuck us over again and again. You can say that they are just that incompetent and inconsistent and you might be right. But also there is an another idea which i find much more suitable; If you create an environment where inconsistency and uncompetency becomes an everyday and standard thing, where people accept it as normal, influencing certain events becomes a really easy thing to do. I was skeptical at first and even last season. No shit tbh, the just world cognitive bias is not a made up thing. But what they have done already this season, i cant really walk past it and say that there is no connection. And i think it will just continue like it began, maybe even getting worse. And in that case your team can be as good as it gets but you still wont win the title, especially when your title rival gets the eact opposite treatment from the refs.
As always, your insights are on point. You've got a unique and fresh way of looking at things, even when it comes to tough situations like injuries, scrutinising the subject from multiple angles. You find a way to make it positive and inspiring for everyone. I really appreciate the effort you put into your content and the way you present it. Keep up the great work!
Regarding squad depth, sure defence has been stacked up... but I sure do miss having ESR or Vieira or any new player who could back up Ödegaards role. And sure Nwanieri is on the bench and does look promising as hell... but mikel just doesn't trust him yet to start a game
I agree with you. But I think that Arteta could have avoided that Martinelli loses the ball before we conceded the second goal by make a substitution earlier. Martinelli was dead from around the 70th to 75th minute. Saka was dead even earlier. Arteta tends to wait too long with substitutions.
it's not easy as you think. We're winning so he's thinking if i change it and lose a goal then i won't forgive myself. Especially not the best of players on the bench. Give the guy a chance lol
Martinelli is getting the shit end of the stick at the moment. He’s had at least 5 different left backs to play with by my count, two of which are basically new signings, plus a kid just promoted to the squad, plus Zinny who has been injured more often than not, plus Kiwior. He’s working his cock off, mentally as well as physically, because his partners are all learning the position/partnerships/combos.
Mr Noncepenny gives me hope. he is so so so good at breaking things logically and applying actual ball knowledge. i wish we could have alex and the like on commentary / pundit teams
Why do you not even mention how many times Haverts lost the ball. So many times after a Haverts touch the ball went to an opposition player or out for a goal kick or throw in. He is by far the worst player we have. Any half decent striker could have scored more for us.
Something that would help Arsenal win games where we are bad or unlucky with injuries is a fast direct striker. Even City play bad games and have injuries, but they have a striker that still can score if they play bad. We need that type and I think the best option rn is Sesko. He offers it all, we just have to improve on it. Not saying Havertz out btw, I just see him more as a striker that makes his teammates flourish. Sometimes you need a player that has a ego to go on his own.
Amine Gouiri, Victor Roque or Gabriel Vidovic. We need a skill moves capable/tiki taka capable/creative/silky/tekky/technical striker who loves possession and loves to drop deep, similar to Firmino, Aguero, Suarez, Van Persie, Sanchez, Jesus, Trossard, Felix, Berbatov, Benzema. Havertz lacks magic. He is not Cazorla on the ball. Haaland is the reason Man City is playing poorly.
I'm proud and frustrated at the same time. I think they did awesome so far. Look at the injuries. Look at the awesome game at Etihad. 1-0 down and in no time and with so much class they turned it into 2-1. Ofc, the overall picture got marred by the impact of some peculiar refereeing. But that's not in our hands! We did great so far. I'm also guilty of overthinking espacially the referee part. So I really enjoy that there'er YT channels like this wich haven an almost philosophical approach to the matter. Keep on doing your great work, Alex!
Everything is coming together now. We’re going to have our full strength team from next week onwards. We’ve managed to match exactly what we did at the same time last season with tougher fixtures and we’re only going to get better now.
I feel like Martinelli was absolutely scared of taking Konate on, and I think the moment where Konate beat him in pace 1v1 the last game was running in his head everytime he faced hime up. That was the first game I have ever seen Martinelli give up, before facing someone
Nah, we've. Seen Nelli beat konate for pace before, Nelli just is lacking confidence alot, last season in this same fixture we saw Nelli start his sprint behind konate and beat him for pace to put that cross in
You can’t analyse completely without considering the personnel that are missing, the squad is built with specific profiles to execute particular game plans in particular game states. When your depth is emptied out the analysis is warped, much in the same way that beating 9 men 7-0 will warp the strength of a win.
Decisions gone against us, key players injured, it's just pure bad luck. Not a doubt in my mind about the quality of this team and manager, we have got some incredible results with our backs against the wall, for example Spurs(A) no odegaard and rice, Etihad(A) no odegaard and down to 10 men. Not once I have felt we are poor than our rivals, quite rather the opposite, this team and manager is special, just bad luck which led to a moderate start to the season. We are cable of going on a monstrous winning streak and it will happen. We are winning the league.
Couldn’t agree more on the crappy refereeing the EPL. Is it just incompetence or that plus some type of corruption, eg. referees going on junkets in the off-season and being paid 4 times what they get in the EPL by certain vested interests? Who knows?
I am right with you on the fact that while excuses are frustrating, this season we've actually had a silly number of legitimate ones, BUT the one place I'd push back? The fact that we carry Tomiyasu (and give him a new contract) and Jesus KNOWING how injury prone they are. There is an element of not being able to belabour our injury luck if we carry MULTIPLE players that are perennially injured. Same applies to Partey. So when we have that many defenders out, there is an element of critique for the fact that we kept Tomi and didn't acquire someone more reliable to potentially fill in that squad spot which would allow us to have not played Kiwior on the weekend. I know that may be getting too deep, but I think it's a legitimate critique. Again, I'm with you on the adversity we've faced and, frankly, can't believe we're only as far off the top as we are. League better watch out, because once healthy, this side is going to be pissed and looking to go on a tear.
Lack of flexibility in Arteta's tactics cost us that match. He seems to stick to the same game plan even if it's not working. 1. The late substitute that he only made coz he conceded the second goal. 2. He could after easily brought in Jorghino and pushed Rice to wing to cover for weakness on right back. 3. It was mistake to sit back and defend with a less competent defence.
We didn't push on in the second half. We lost the initialtive. It's almost as if, leading by one single goal is good enough - so now let's just defend. We are playing smart, too smart imo. Instead let's keep it simple. 1-0, we target 2-0, then 3-0. Maybe after 3-0 we stop. But when we are leading 2-1, we should not stop pushing on. Atleast make it 3-1. Most importantly when we score more goals, the more demoralized our opponents feel. The referee issues will be there in the future. That is why we must create atleast 2 goal buffer. When your best defenders are out, why not go for it. I'm sure Arteta has his reasons. Hopefully we improve.
“When your best defenders are out, why not go for it” Because Saka has been injured and was knackered, Martinelli is playing with a new fullback every week and looks confused and knackered and Ødegaard is out. We dont have the firepower, especially not when our midfielders (Rice and Merino) are keeping an eye on a makeshift defence.
We drew to liverpool with no Cb, Noother first choice cb for 45 mins, a RB at CB, a slow CDM at RB, No LB, No Odegard and finishing the game with 2 teenagers. We were good.
I think the enforced chopping and changing at the back has restricted Mikel’s ability to mix things around higher up the pitch. If he’d been able to field an identical back 4 over the past 6 weeks then my guess is that we’d have seen Jesus up top, Havertz doing MØ and Trossard & Martinelli sharing LW/impact sub duties. But Mikel does have a conservative streak and I think that if he’s having to tinker at the back week after week then he is reluctant to change things in other parts of the pitch (unless it’s enforced, obvs).
Totally agree. Everyone needs to keep calm. Unlike years past where we couldn't even dribble out against them, Liverpool is no longer scary. We really deserved to beat them in spite of everything. City without Rodri will undoubtedly drop more points this season than in past seasons. Arsenal are fine. Let's get healthy and start thrashing teams!
Arsenal are too slow in build up at the moment. Too often a backward pass is made rather than a forward one, or we look to make the through the eye of a needle pass rather than a simple one. Liverpool and Bournemouth both exposed this with quick forward balls. Give Martinelli and Saka a run, put ball over top on occasions.
By the 'injuries are no excuse' crowd logic, we should really have no first 11 and should be able to rotate this squad every week with no drop off in performance... What squad on earth can do that? By the same logic Raheem sterling is just as important is Saka... Ofcourse injuries make a difference, and can absolutely be an excuse for not winning these types of games. Although less of an excuse against weaker opponents
I've been a Gunners since 2006 at 14years old and I'm not stopping being one. This is the best Arsenal I've seen in my life time and Im gonna enjoy it. We will never win the league by external factor (lets not pretend we don't know why 🙄) and I'm okay with it. Always a Gunner.
All I can say is that we are good. Referees are the one letting us down. Arteta should stay focused and not let this bad officiation demoralise him. We keep doing what we do
I do not mind the result. I just worry that even drawing feels like a loss because of city juggernaut. They hardly ever lose and it's not feasible to catch them or keep up with them even though it's just end of October.
This is so spot on. Kiwior is good against the smaller teams but not good enough against the top teams. People forget how he cost us the game against Bayern in the champs league. He got skinned by Sane that led to the pen goal by Kane. He just makes too many bad decisions when we're under pressure. There's reason why mikel delayed his debut by almost a year. He's not ready at that top level and we only play him out of desperation smh
@@shobudski6776 Bro he's at fault for the goal just like he was at fault for the bournemouth 2nd goal. Makes 2 basic school boy errors. First he tries to intercept a ball he was never gonna win giving one of the quickest players in the prem Nunez a free run on our defense. Then he compounds the mistake by not tracking Salah instead he and MLS run after Nunez which creates the space in the middle for Salah to run in and score. It was so annoying and beggars belief. There was never any reason to be that aggressive when you're leading and trying to see out a game. That's the tyoe of mistake Gabriel will never make at that time of the game and leading by a goal. This is what mikel was talked about when he talks about the discipline required to defend like we did against citeh at the Etihad this year and last. He said it just takes one 1 player to switch off for 1 split second and you get punished at that level smh
Anyway, Martinelli needs to move with his eyes up a bit more. Seems to me like he used to be a better decision maker on the ball than he is now. Had a better balance of when to take defenders on, when to pass and go etc. He’s improving but he’s still a ways from his best
Not for nothing but Kiwior got dragged out because of how cheaply the ball was given away in attack. But still should have been dealt with better by defence
The reason Arsenal are not higher up on the goals overturned by VAR is that the refs whistles for a foul before we even get the ball in the net. Can’t overturn a goal if it never went in the net.
That last part! “Stick together, block out the noise from those who actively profit from division, and try to enjoy the ride”! This one was really needed, kudos, Sir Alex. So many try to profit from division and it is really sad to see. BTW, I like you better on TDK 😊
same way arteta will say one thing to the cameras and feel differently off them is the same for some of your own personal opinions, which is more than fair. so i'll say the refereeing really has gotten to a very weird point. there are simply way too many instances in different matches, ours and others' for us not to draw valid conclusions from. the bias is blatantly clear i'd argue not to mention the clear conflicts of interest, but of course it's not what you say it's what you can prove in court. but if you see what we see week in week out and you can't make the connections i'd say you're doing your critical thinking a major disservice. i'm just furious really but also prefer to just move on as we can't do much else
Alex the only issue I have with what you said is the moment you listed the defenders unavailable and used the word EXCUSE. It's never acceptable it's REASON - Not you!, anyone who ignores the real impact of such a depletion in key resources and the impact that has on your teams capability is burying their head in the sand, unaware or ignoring factors that affect outcome, they are ignorant to the information or an idiot.
using injuries as an excuse for the liverpool perfomance isnt really good enough. we've arrived. this is the project. this is the vision the staff have for the squad. liverpool was a must win game, i blame the officiating moreso than anything else. liverpool cut through us with one ball for the second goal and the players and depth we had on the pitch shouldve been more than enough. if people want to blame MLS for being young and raw why not blame the manager for bringing him on instead of zinchenko. we're so far ahead of liverpools project and last season people said klopp worked miricales with that squad last season. now people are touting it as great squad building. mac allist szobo gravenberch is not a title winning midfield. diaz and nunez are not title winning forwards. the only excuse for not beating liverpool was the ref (again!). im seeing such a loser mentality from arsenal fans this year. we dont have to be calm and patient the whole time.
Personally the only game we played crap was against Bournemouth imo. If we had all our players against both City and Liverpool, we'd have definitely won both. People will likely hate on my opinion, but I don't care. The truth sometimes hurts. Get over it 😘😁
I think our attacking depth is terrible our defensive depth is what our attacking depth should be … if that was the case we’d win the league. I don’t think anyone of “the negative” crowd ever said our defensive depth was the issue … we commented that we need an upgrade on the left wing (which makes Martinelli depth), proper backup to Saka (not over the hill Sterling) , and another 9 alongside Odegaard backup since we let go two number 10s. You are arguing against strawmen here 😂
I think you are right that the season is by no means over and if we can get through our next two prem games with wins … we are in a really good spot considering the away games we’ve had within our first 11 games but that doesn’t mean there aren’t issues with the squad that will stop us from getting over the line / nothing to see here
I don't like the fact that we are dropping off in the second halves of games. We play attacking football in the first, but then when the energy drops a little bit, we retreat, especially if we have the lead. It's not just one game where it happened, it's a pattern. It brings back bad memories from the Emery era. Arteta is feeling the pressure.
Its so boring to talk about missing players but but Without Saliba, Odegard, Gabriel, Timber, Tomiyasu, Saka And Liverpool with Salah , Trent, Van Dik , big mac and Sobo Arsenal still drew 😂 almost won it Our 2nd best against your best still the match was close if the refs were to be fair we had 3 points
Just wondering what could be done with clowns refs ? It’s boring to talk about it ! Agree 👍 but in the same time we can receive constantly apology from their bosses and suffer in silence! Today arsenal tomorrow will be other club with exception to City 🫣

0:07 tears in my eyes
By the 'injuries are no excuse' crowd logic, we should really have no first 11 and should be able to rotate this squad every week with no drop off in performance... What squad on earth can do that? By the same logic Raheem sterling is just as important is Saka... Ofcourse injuries make a difference, and can absolutely be an excuse for not winning these types of games. Although less of an excuse against weaker opponents
Sure but our bench is not fixed m8… Real Madrid bring Brahim Diaz and sometimes Rodrygo off the bench
Magic sponge and a trip to Dubai is all we need boys
Hell yah
I've been a Gunners since 2006 at 14years old and I'm not stopping being one. This is the best Arsenal I've seen in my life time and Im gonna enjoy it. We will never win the league by external factor (lets not pretend we don't know why 🙄) and I'm okay with it. Always a Gunner.
You’re very good
You’re very kind
i love ur energy
All I can say is that we are good.
Referees are the one letting us down. Arteta should stay focused and not let this bad officiation demoralise him.
We keep doing what we do
Lol i always wait for your videos to calm me down, it always works
Not going to lie, but you make my day, Alex. Keep up the good, refreshing, not so over-thought out work.😅
Thanks mate
Kiwior isn’t our 8th best defender on the team. This tie can’t be totally blamed on him.
It's football, the more you try applying logic to the game the more ways it will find to send you mad if you let it.
You might not want to become the arsenal therapist…. But you are, for all us fans.
Accept it 😂
Welcome back tooooooo!!! 🇰🇪
Love the intros man 😂
i closed after 40 seconds, bro is waffling like a mad man
Eye edits were class 😂
It's never acceptable it's REASON - Not you!, anyone who ignores the real impact of such a depletion in key resources and the impact that has on your teams capability is burying their head in the sand, unaware or ignoring factors that affect outcome, they are ignorant to the information or an idiot.
we need another sponsor segment listen to us
bro is doing a therapy session - 40 seconds into the video by the way 🤣
Overturned by VAR? doesn't prove anything about bent refereeing.
Top Gooner!
Ngl this going 2-1 up and drawing at the end is worrying me even tho it's probs unfair
using injuries as an excuse for the liverpool perfomance isnt really good enough. we've arrived. this is the project. this is the vision the staff have for the squad. liverpool was a must win game, i blame the officiating moreso than anything else. liverpool cut through us with one ball for the second goal and the players and depth we had on the pitch shouldve been more than enough. if people want to blame MLS for being young and raw why not blame the manager for bringing him on instead of zinchenko. we're so far ahead of liverpools project and last season people said klopp worked miricales with that squad last season. now people are touting it as great squad building. mac allist szobo gravenberch is not a title winning midfield. diaz and nunez are not title winning forwards. the only excuse for not beating liverpool was the ref (again!). im seeing such a loser mentality from arsenal fans this year. we dont have to be calm and patient the whole time.
Personally the only game we played crap was against Bournemouth imo. If we had all our players against both City and Liverpool, we'd have definitely won both.
People will likely hate on my opinion, but I don't care. The truth sometimes hurts. Get over it 😘😁
Where has TDK live gone?
It's now on The Cannon Podcast! Check it out 🤝
I think our attacking depth is terrible our defensive depth is what our attacking depth should be … if that was the case we’d win the league. You are arguing against strawmen here 😂
I think you are right that the season is by no means over and if we can get through our next two prem games with wins … we are in a really good spot considering the away games we’ve had within our first 11 games but that doesn’t mean there aren’t issues with the squad that will stop us from getting over the line / nothing to see here
un-cool status? yes You have 😂😂
Someone’s been studying psychology !
Alright Mr. Alex.
I won't over think, but am losing the love for English premier League games.
Why he wearing pjs?
Come on Gunners!! First comment 🫡
Its so boring to talk about missing players but but
Without Saliba, Odegard, Gabriel, Timber, Tomiyasu, Saka
And Liverpool with
Salah , Trent, Van Dik , big mac and Sobo
Arsenal still drew 😂 almost won it
Our 2nd best against your best still the match was close if the refs were to be fair we had 3 points
Early gang!!
Mr Waffle waffles on.
Don’t watch then?
The solution is simple . Ditch the next international break and go for a Dubai trip
First innit
No likes in 10 seconds he’s fallen off
Just wondering what could be done with clowns refs ? It’s boring to talk about it ! Agree 👍 but in the same time we can receive constantly apology from their bosses and suffer in silence! Today arsenal tomorrow will be other club with exception to City 🫣
