Guys I've just seen Skylum have launched a huge sale on Luminar NEO. It's the last sale they're doing before it goes live at full price. Here's the link: bit.ly/3yVRqqt-NEO
I cannot wait to try this
Thank you for this very informational video! I love turning day photos into night and this has helped even more. This is May 2022 and NEO has had many good updates and I am now loving the program the way it should have released.
Excellent tutorial! I actually learned a lot from this! I had no clue how the masks feature worked or that I could play with it, and then selectively apply it. That's extremely helpful! I tagged you in my finished product over on instagram. Appreciate it!
You're such a lovely person. Thanks for the tip!
I must have been putting out some good vibes on this one! Thanks for the compliment.
Looking forward to the release! Thank you for the great info.
Fantastic job, Anthony. I guess I will do my best with the forthcoming LUMINAR NEO, with the help of your handy videos
Thanks ever so much
No worries Jose. I'll keep the tutorials coming as long as they're helpful and being enjoyed 😀
Brilliant work with very clear explanation 👏
Great tutorial, Anthony!! Thanks very much. Can't wait for Luminar NEO to be released to all of us.
Thanks Jim. Not long now!!!
Thank you! I've been doing photography for a while and I've never even heard of this program until today thank you for sharing I'm definitely going to try it out
You're so welcome Aron!
Just downloaded my copy of NEO and looking forward to do some editing. Thanks for some great ideas.
This is pretty cool. Thanks for the tutorial!
No worries AJ. It was a fun one to do!
What a fun and creative edit! Nicely done, and engaging tutorial. Thanks!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for this
Well done, Neo looking good.
Thanks Nigel!
Excellent video - enjoyed your edit. NEO is beginning to look the business!! Have you heard any further talk of NEO being able to host Aurora and the Topaz tools as plug-ins as L4 does?
Hi Nigel. Good question. I haven't heard about its ability to host programs like L4. I'll keep you and the viewers posted when I know more....
@@AnthonyTurnham Thanks - it just seems a backward step not to include the facilty to run plug-ins such as Aurora (Skylum's own program!!) and DeNoise AI amd Sharpen AI when this has been available with L4
Very nicely explained. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Good tutorial. Even though my system will not support NEO, I incorporated many of your steps into my Luminar AI and got a
believable night scene...
Great stuff. 👍 Glad the info is still relevant to Luminar AI.
Haha, everyone’s a critic. Obviously Mazzy is a tough crowd. I thought it was great video though. Looking forward to the next one. Neo should be available to us next month and I can’t wait. Seems far more immersive than Luminar AI.
No flat profile for DJI though. Hope they add more profiles unless I am missing something in NEO
G'day Anthony
Brilliant and you made it so simple.
Arrr, there's is one thing for us whom live in the southern hemisphere, that you have to do.
Flip the Milky Way, so it's upside down.
Just a minor point, but the authentic presentation makes it more Ozzie or Kiwi's pictorial.
Havagooday mate
Greg
Spot on Greg! It should be flipped. I'll bare that in mind for the next time I feature a night 🌙 sky! Good on ya 😀 Hope things are okay over the ditch. I'm looking forward to revisiting Aussie at some point!
How do you keep the blood from running to your head?
@Joel Wexler that's is the question that I was going to ask you!
Brilliant and you make it so easy to understand and follow. I missed the link as couldn't watch the original vjdeo. Do you still have your link to skies
Thanks Kris and yes I do! The sky pack I'd recommend is bit.ly/2Ruj8KP-Skies
Hi Anthony... Thanks for your time and effort. The 'Relight Tool'- it's a powerful and truly needed tool. It would much more beneficial if SKYLUM added to it "The Adjustable Gradient and 'Set Orientation' which is available in L4. And also the Brush, Radial and Gradient Mask...
Hi Anthony. Great video! Would it be worth mentioning that if you're entering the end result in a Salon then you should ONLY use skies you have shot yourself, rather than any of the built-in ones or any library skies you have purchased? Thanks
Hi Richard. Tbh I'd avoid the skies that ship with it completely just because your work will be generic and instantly recognisable as a "Luminar Sky" to other users.
I think it's okay to use purchased high quality skies in commercial work. If they can help earn you $$$ then why not. But obviously no competition entry as it's not your work. Whereas a commercial client just wants the result not the authentication of how you got there.
Thanks, good work. BTW what are the differences among the membership levels?
Thanks Big A :) Memberships are very much a way of those who want to help support the channel just giving a token amount each month to keep me in coffee ;) The level jumps just introduce small perks from the basics such as custom emojis, priority responses from me, and member shout outs.
Hi , will you do some more "NEO " lessons? In Luminar 4, I followed all.
Hi John. Yes, definitely. Had quite a few commercial photography projects hat have taken my time recently but I'll be back with more Neo soon!
Nice video. Question- can I import an image from Affinity Photo and use it in NEO? If so, what format do you recommend I use and also as the final to save? I'm new to all this and appreciate any insight from the experts! These are the two software programs I am considering buying- unless anyone can recommend something else? I want EASY and CHEAP but still very good results. I chose Affinity because unlike AI, I can do Pano-Stitching and HDR under a single roof...no need to buy Aurora. I also heard from many that editing using AI can be like watching paint dry. Neo and Affinity could get me the best of both worlds. I know LR and PS are the gold standards but they are priced like gold too. I am only editing vacation photos.
Hi 👋 Yes Neo will import and allow you to work on any format photo 📸. If you're going from o e app to another you want to keep the most information in the file possible. For that you'll have to ditch jpg and obviously your file is no longer raw, so your best bet is a 16bit tiff file. When you're done with all your editing, then a more compressed format is fine. IE an 8bit jpeg. You just don't want to be trying to edit 8bit jpegs if you can helpit bur they're great for displaying your work online and fine for printing too.
@@AnthonyTurnham Great, thank you. This is very helpful. do you use Adobe RGB or sRGB?
Today all want to be photographer with all this programs
Me and some others preordered and paid the NEO software months ago and still waiting to the production it is a shame last time we preordering !!!
I think Skylum are pushing out there "coming this Winter" statement for all its worth! This version I'm using is available to those that pre-ordered through your skylum account.
Last time i looked it was supposed to be at the beginning of February and the earlybirds were to get it one week before February
I had a go at this but since I haven't so far received Neo I used L4. I think it is quite successful but a lot more work than Neo would be. Using the edits is easier and more flexible than layers. I would love to have sent you the result and the original but understandably you wouldn't want folk sending you all their efforts.
Hey there Dobro. NEO isn't too far away now! If you want to send me through your before and after to anthonyeditsyourphotos@gmail.com I'll take a look! I'd be keen to see what you came up with!
@@AnthonyTurnham Great. They are on their way.
I enjoy making day to night chnages so thanks for this. The sky replacement in NEO will unfortunately probably be same as in Luminar AI in that there is not a true mask made of the sky. This limits the flexibilty of adjusting the sky independently. For example, you mentioned the noise in the sky looking different to the ground. If the sky had a mask then noise reduction could be selectively applied to it very easily.
Hi Chizz. Yeah having the mask that's generated made available to the user would be very useful!
Great content do you know if there’s a way to get fujifilm styles/ presets in luminar
Hi Matt, you can load .dcp profiles in via the profiles dropdown box. I believe fujifilm have their profiles available for download from their website.
Can I apply my Lightroom presets in this program?
No. Not LR presets. There are a lot of good presets that ship with it though and it's pretty straight forward to make your own too.
Can I ask about the profiles? I do shoot in raw using a Panasonic G9 but nothing comes up if I change the profile same thing in Ai too?? Any ideas?
Perhaps it's not a camera that Luminar has the profiles for? That seems strange though. I'd follow up with the Skylum helpdesk.
Hi andy. Can you stack in NEO?
Hi Martin the layers functionality hasn't been revealed by Skylum yet so currently I'm unsure as to whether stacking will be possible. I'm sure we'll be able to bring different exposed images in as layers and work with them but how automated this is and whether there's access to luminosity masks etc we'll have to wait and see!
Is it final yet?
First full version is coming in Feb. (so we're told...)
Can you please edit a portrait with neo
Good idea 💡👏👍
This must be a joke. why would you do that? Daytime to nighttime and the results are very very poor.
In fact, no, not a joke. You'd be surprised how many times I got asked by people how can you use Luminar to create a "night shot" from a daytime capture. This is the video about it! I appreciate your feedback though. Cheers for the comment 😀
skylum must be paying you well, unsubscribing
They're not mate. I've found that when I do LR, PS and other topics they bomb compared to when I do Luminar vids. Sorry to see you go. Out of curiosity what topics were of in terest to you? Why did you subscribe in the first place?
