  • I bought a 2003 Club Car DS Golf Cart from Facebook Marketplace for $1000 that was sold as non running. The wiring on this cart was a disaster and previous owner said it wouldnt run! So I accepted the Challenge! This $1000 cart has a $1000 lift kit on it with 14" wheels and 26" tires that are hardly used! So this is my plan.........

Your the man! Very great example of patience. I wish I wasn’t color blind , that project would be tough for me. I find older DS carts a challenge. I’m finding a lot of dead solenoids and a few controllers lately. Keeps me busy using all your knowledge, still love to hear that click and cart move , getting to be my favorite sound , keep up the great videos

Excellent video on wiring and troubleshooting! I have a 05 Club Car IQ that I got in very similar condition that I have been trying to troubleshoot it for months now and now I think I have a much better idea on what I need to do to get it running. Thank you for this video! It really helped me and I'm hoping I can get mine fixed now!

That looks as bad as that cart I've got I call "Rat Cart" it had been left on a farm under a shed. The only thing left was the connectors. The wood rats ate all the wiring except the battery cables. I had to build a entire harness.
Moved the FNR to the steering column while I was at it
Keep up the great work 😊

Question: can you point me to a video or tell me how to bypass my OBC in my ‘02 club car? (Not IQ).
You’ve convinced me to go lithium but I don’t know how to bypass the OBC issue.
Great score on this golf cart with the 10” lift

I really like the cart, curious to know what the tire size is on it.

Good work. The number #9 pin on the main harness (grey) needs an inline diode to prevent "main drop out" stalling condition. A problem in these early DS models. Let me know if you need one, I have plenty in stock, having to do this rewire many times on carts. I will donate some and mail them to you. Cheers.

Ten4, The schematic didnt show that. I mustve downloaded the older schematic. The band side goes to the controller right?

By chance are able to check the solenoid being able to just apply 12v? or do you need the full 48 to test and here a click. Thank you and great job on the video, learned a lot.

If its a 48v solenoid then you would need close to 48v on the smaller terminals. The 2 top lugs only make and break continuity.

Gotcha, I was testing with 12v and could not get it to open or close. Yes its a 48v solenoid so Ill proceed with testing at 48v. Thank you for the help.@@Fentertainment

I might swap it out with a stock motor when I flip this cart. This could be used down the road in something else.

I usually just google which ever model and put schematic behind it. Sometimes you have to dig through a couple different schematics but for the most part they are easy to find.

I swear by my Chinese Yamaha Raptor-clone, *but whoever wired it deserves to be slapped in public lol.* Other than that and the stock tie-rods, I lucked out.
