    Christian, Michael - I would re-consider your partnership with Fake Fragrances. The branding and name of the company does not quite align with your brand ethos IMO. There are other similar brands such as Dossier and ALT who similarly produce dupe fragrances, but at least they don’t push the ‘fake’ thing. Also, you should realize that the fragrance industry is huge and the art of creating a unique fragrance deserves recognition. It would be like promoting San Martin watches (an homage AliExpress brand) as opposed to promoting the brands they are homaging. Just something to consider.

      why not? they use the same extracts and oils as the name brands to approximate the formulas. fake watches don't use the same movements or finishing, but will print a copyrighted brand name on the dial. copy fragrances don't violate IP law whereas copy watches do.

    People who know fragrances, know fragrances. It’s just like watches, most people only know of Rolex, have no idea about Patek or JLC etc. When you’re around people who know fragrances, they know. Fake anything is classless, if you can’t afford Creed, get Ralph Lauren. Just like watches, if you can’t afford Rolex, get Tudor etc. I’m frequently around people who know what fragrance I’m wearing. If you’re advertising fragrance, it’d behoove you guys to do a little research about it. They are people who love colognes like “we” love watches.

      I agree. The fragrance community is a strong one as well. I happen to partake in both watch and fragrance communities and there are definitely some similarities. I think if one is to carry a set of moral values when it comes to watches, it should translate over to other hobbies, even if you are not a ‘fragrance person’ in this case. It’s just the moral principle behind it imo.

If the big three( Rolex, AP, PP) already run the market that makes watches for slim people maybe Omega focus is to make the best designs for heavier or more muscular people. Can I or will I ever wear one? No, I have bird bones, and am so small I disappear if viewed sideways, but that doesn't change how incredibly sick that watch is!

    A lot of interesting content in this video - thank you for sharing. I feel bad for you reading the comments which are overwhelmingly focused on your choice of sponsor! I have split views here 1/ i get the choice of sponsor doesn't seem in keeping with the spirit of this channel (i.e. "original heritage"), but 2/ it is consistent with finding value, and not spending more than you get differentiable personal benefit from, and that's where it gets subjective based on tastes/interests (everyone has different budgets for cars, watches, headphones, fashion, fragrance, food, wine, travel etc), and 3/ you've got to make a living, and you need a sponsor given how little you'll get from UA-cam relative to the amount of time you spend making great content! Keep up the great channel, it remains my favourite and i enjoy watching :-)

      @@notenoughtime7274I get what you are saying but it still doesn't make sense to support fake fragrances but not watches. Ok, everyone has different budget for different things and I get that. But why is buying fake fragrance because of that justifiable but not watches? Watches have lots of good budget friendly watches? So dies fragrances. I can never justify anyone buying fake stuff for anything. Those are just excuses you use to make you seem like you ain't a fake wearing person. I would rather respect a seiko wearer over a fake rolex wearer the same way a I would respect someone actually wearing lazy Sunday morning over some fake of it

    • @notenoughtime7274
      @notenoughtime7274 11 місяців тому

      @@mrparkx2 i respect your points which are well made and I agree with you. But I also do think the point that has elicited the wider reaction in the comments (which I do get but also sympathise with) is the term “fake” as part of the brand image.
      As an analogy, there are many watch companies that offer more affordable alternatives to more expensive watches that have their own heritage. Tissot PRX and Christopher Ward 12 deserve respect and aren’t a “fake” but they certainly have been heavily inspired and influenced in design.
      These fragrances are being more blatantly honest in their marketing of what their inspirations and influences are and what they’re initiating at more affordable prices. Am I interested in buying one, no not really. Am I offended by the fact they exist no, and do I think they’re an interesting proposition for some/many yes. All up do I think they fit as a sponsor for this channel….debateable not sure ! But I did still enjoy the video and content as a whole

    • @mrparkx2
      @mrparkx2 11 місяців тому

      @@notenoughtime7274 idk. As both a watch and fragrance enthusiast, I hate any blatant copies. Prx and the 12 are fine since they are homage. Not the same replica. Fake fragrances is different. Same reason I don't buy the Pagani designs

  • @MarcoDeLasVegas
    @MarcoDeLasVegas 11 місяців тому +9

    Fake fragrence is exactly the same as hommage watches. You buy it for the look, not for the name.
    As 95% of the population don't give a damn or know anything about watches, wearing an hommage sub or hommage datejust, is the same as wearing a fake cologne.
    Don't try to pretend it's not the same. You cut the expenses of research and development, you copy a recipe that is already recognized to be ultra efficient to be sold and almost all the time, you cut on the quality in regards to the real deal.

    Love the content and the channel but I have to disagree with you on FAKE. Counterfeit cologne is problematic for me because it is infringing on not only the IP of the original company but benefits from the investment of time, marketing, research and capital that the original company made. It’s far easier to and, cheaper to copy the efforts of those that have gone before you than to create something new out of thin air. Innovation is costly and time consuming. I don’t think it’s right to essentially steal from LV, Gucci and Prada designer handbags any more than someone should create a copy of a Rolex, Patek or AP so why should fragrances be any different. Look how long it took Creed to create and market Aventis. Aventis takes 3 months to manufacture and the only reason anyone would copy anything is because it is successful. How would a copycat know this without the investment of time and money of the original designer/manufacturer and without any market risk? Doesn’t seem fair or ethical to be honest. It also costs the original manufacturer an ROI on their original investment. JMO for what it’s worth

    I think the Seamaster collection is very very far from the legendary status that the vintage Seamaster collection has and they need to focus on bridging that gap. The Seamaster 300 is fine but would be so much better with vintage sizing true to the original and no fauxtina. Then more watches with the style of the 1948, but more legible, less limited, and cheaper. And release something like the CK859 in a smaller case that you don't discontinue after 3 days.

    • @miabeatz80
      @miabeatz80 11 місяців тому

      Most of the vintage 60s Seamasters were under 36mm so why would Omega release models in that size today if there isn't demand for it. Something to consider is the dial of a watch has symmetry based on the size. For example if you took the Daytona and made it 36mm you don't have the same design. There are plenty of Omega designs in sub 40mm that most people scoff at so as a brand I wouldn't make several designs in a size people don't buy. Bronson 300m had a 36mm how many times have you seen it in the wild, same goes speedy reduced?

    Porsche makes as many cars as the watchmakers make watches…. And you can get a custom-made Porsche that is essentially a one-off…. And Porsches are far more complicated than any watch ever made. You’d think that making customs would be relatively easy and an extremely lucrative proposition for the makers…..

    • @miabeatz80
      @miabeatz80 11 місяців тому +2

      The amount of custom versions sold versus standard is much lower for Porsche. Besides having too many customizations of watches sometimes lowers the brand prestige. That's why Rolex and Patek won't even sell you a bracelet. The chef wants you to eat the food as is no extra salt or pepper 😌

    • @MrFloRolf
      @MrFloRolf 11 місяців тому

      @@miabeatz80well depends on how you define custom. You can still select the color, accent color, rims, interior color, materials, sound system, engine, transmission etc, basically making it a one of. With watches you get a small selection of colors (1 to 5 maybe) and if you are lucky metal bracelet or leather. So in the end it's one of 10 possible combinations.

    • @miabeatz80
      @miabeatz80 11 місяців тому

      @@MrFloRolf True. My guess is that too many options would dilute the design. Imagine LV luggage in every color.... Would lose the cool factor and it would be harder to create a limited version of a particular color. Also consider they only make a few thousand 911 Porsche each year compared to probably 50-60k Seamaster or Submariners. It's easy to customize in smaller orders and with cars paint is paint you can crash one and get it repainted. You bash a dial or bezel and they have to keep in stock thousands of color variants to replace.

    II'm really happy Harris finally mastered the art of buttoning a shirt! Now, we're eagerly anticipating Theo's move to bid farewell to that quirky, overgrown mop on his right side. Hard to fathom he pays a whopping $50 and yet the stylist fails to mention he's walking around looking like a character straight out of a comedy sketch! It's like those whimsical monks who deliberately leave one strand of hair dangling.
