Laughed out loud and spit my drink when Porom noted there's 20 different spell ids for Living Bomb and even if Blizz buffed it they'd buff the wrong one.
the thing i dislike most about the attempt to bring back necrolord frost is how half-assed they were with it. death's chill fails in making either side happy, because you dont spam frostbolts in aoe forever like necrolord, but you still have to use frostbolts in aoe which makes the people who dont want to do it mad too. the infinite ramp that was possible with the skeleton man added an interesting element of using buttons later into your cooldowns makes them more effective. if infinite frostbolts was the primo aoe i would actually be fine to play it because it makes frostbolt feel nicer to press but this version where you have to do it but also it sucks just feels terrible. also we dont turn into a cool skeleton man whats the point
Arcane is really weird. It feels less complicated, even though I know it's more complicated. That feeling along makes me want to play it. I also feel like the most likely thing to happen is that arcane is nerfed at the end of heroic week, and we're just playing frost all tier.
That would make me sad. I think Frost can be fun but it's the least interesting spec. I also have the same feeling with Arcane. If your dps doesn't plummet if you make a small mistake here or there, it's going to be amazing.
I personally would like something else than arcane played on progress because it was mostly this in dragonflight But the top priority is that no matter what spec you play it's interesting deep enough and not turbo brain dead 1 2 button spam
Think blizz needs to kill the whole frostbolt build concept. Or at least secrtion into one capstone. I think Cold Front should be based on lance. I think Death’s Chill should be based on lance if it should even exist, I’d rather just see a capstone that makes lance hit another 2 targets. I wanna see Glacial Blast come back. DF S3 Frost felt so amazing. I really would love to just see Glacial Blast come back. That along with a lance build instead of a Frostbolt side of the tree. Instead of winter’s chill maybe splinters should give the comet storm debuff and allow it to stack. Who knows.
as far as it concerns fire mage design: 1) change phoenix flames from being this 2 spell sequence in the back end to being a normal spell so that there is no big delay in getting the crit count for hot streak 2) allow flamestrike to be cast on target 3) make pyroblast only castable with hot streak active. we don't need to be jumping during combustions just to prevent a hardcast that we never need. Adjust sun king's backend accordingly (transform the spell, separate button, whatever makes sense) 4) like you fixed kindling and unleashed inferno to work with flamestrike, fix firefall and phoenix flames talents to also work with flamestrike 5) both kindling and UI CDR existing is silly. Figure out what you want base combust CD to be and put all the rest of the CDR in UI 6) recognize that updating a spec by simply "letting it do the thing more often" (in this case, cast pyroblast) is a lazy design and ends up in 1) flooding us with resources and 2) making damage linear. Another side-effect was when you tried talents that make phoenix flames hit harder than pyro, you had to reduce them in order to not mess up priorities. 7) after 6 is recognized, repurpose phoenix flames to be an on-CD hot streak SPENDER similar to sub rogue secret technique. Allow it to do high damage, splash aoe, living bomb or whatever else it needs 8) Change living bomb in a way that the frequency of applying it is not just... 4%. The expected number of pyroblast casts is more than the time you need to get combustion back, so essentially the base lit fuse talent does nothing. You can even make it just stay on one target or only be related to 7), whatever it is 9) change heat shimmer to not be instant cast. Because of the fact that heating up registers after you have queued up another spell anyway, the only time you know for sure you need a guaranteed crit instant cast is when you cast an instant pyro without a fireball. keep fireblast as the only hot streak converter because it was designed very well for that, and anything else should have a cast time
Mage feels less clunky than S1 DF, perma iv was terrible to play, fire was undertuned, and arcane didn't feel good too. Frost need buff on it's capstone and the removal of winterchill on spliterstorm .
Out of touch guys; a TON of people probably love spamming frost bolt. Add in a few other things occasionally, and have it within 5% of the other specs and everyone would play it.
@@jayryan1956 Dunno, I actually like when frostbolt feels good to press. MoP frost is peak frost gameplay because of that. Frostbolt feels good to press, Ice Lance feels good to press, Frostfire Bolt feels good to press. When buttons don't feel good to press, it's bad design. Same with fire mage's fireball as well as pre-TWW arcane missiles.
I d rather have several abilities that we have to juggle between nad not necessarily spam one spell Bolt or ice lance spam is not great same with arcane blast spam

Where can I find the other twos Mage content?
fuck missed it again; thanks for the uploads

Great video, appreciate the discussion guys!

Someone wanna explain what shimmerlance entails for someone who’s never heard that term?
Iirc there was a time where you would fb->lance->shimmer-> lance to get both to land in wc before it had 2 stacks
does fire need to be buffed by like 40% to compete with arcane 😵 shame , it looks fun with hypertermia /alar machine gunning

IP, TV, SL perma frost was peak frost imo.

30:15 TRUE AND BASED
I really enjoyed Necrolord style of gameplay lol
how

Frost is in a great place (assuming tuning) if they just remove winters chill from splinterstorm. Very few players want ice lance spam
Yes
First like and comment wooo

no they dont lol
