Had to Pivot Midway Through Modernizing This MCM Highboy

In this video I modernize this mid century modern highboy I got off of Facebook Marketplace for $100. There was no manufacturer logo on the drawers, however, there was manufacturer code on the back that read "JDB". After some research I found that it was a 1960s Bassett Highboy. I also confirmed this by emailing photos to the Bassett Company in which they said the code was for a factory in Virginia that has since shutdown.
This ombre wood tone is very dated so I updated with a fresh paint job. The hardware is a little dated and odd too but I grew to really like its funky design.

I'm sorry, but I don't like that at all. It will always be incomprehensible to me why people paint beautiful wood with ugly paint.
