Unfortunately, no. I would recommend a 3-legged full tripod as it may be prone to natural elements or knocks. The head is also not a ball-head and will not be able to compensate for uneven ground. I would recommend you look at the Ulanzi SK-04 or MT-63 which i have recently reviewed.
Yes, I use it often with my APSC A6400 and now my Full Frame ZV-E1. As long as it's a light or kit lense, it will do fine. Just don't add anything more than a microphone to be safe.
Excellent review! How does this compare to the Ulanzi SK-04 in terms of stability? Is it shaky to attach a phone for video filming at its max height at 2mtr? Dou prefer this over the SK-04?
Thanks! The SK-04 will be more stable as it has 3 independent feet. For phone, no issue at all not shaky even at the highest as it was made to hold lights. In terms of portability yes i prefer it over the SK-04 but if i want to be extra safe in situations like if the place is windy or alot of crowds, the SK-04 will give me a better piece of mind.
Yes I love it for its height. Small ballheads is possible! As long as it can fit into a standard 1/4 inch screw mount, the weak point Is no ballhead that's all.
I tried it out with the new Smallrig 60 RC 60B and its to unstable even when it looks similar to the 40W Light you used 😅The 3 Legs are to close in my opinion. Im also not a native English Speaker (German) so maybe an inch slower 😅, but great Energy 👍
I personally do not own the insta360 selfie stick but the MT-79 is a tripod which the 360 isn't. It also 25% of the insta360, so unless you need the 300cm lenght, this is still a better product in my opinion.
@@Jameses i plan to buy a ulanzi U60 ballhead to pair it with the mt79. i only put gopro and phone on it. So, is it safe to say that i should buy the mt79?
Guys, I bought a shi amount of light stand, wether cheap or expensive c stand. I bought the ulanzi mt 79 , i needed a solid and small light stand to go on travel. I ended to buy 3 of those, Its a really fast deploy light stand and its tall. and i was able to put forza 60b with 90 cm softbox easily. Also i bought 3 of thoses around 17 $ each on aliexpress ( max on aliexpress its 26 $ , but its often on discount for like 15-19 $).
I appreciate how detailed and energetic these reviews are man. 🔥🔥
Thank you! Glad to hear that :)
Would this be suitable for a Sony a5000 and travel?
Yes it would be, I mount my a6400 on this with my wireless receiver too.
Thanks. I may want some longer exposures. Good for that? Assuming level ground of course

I see they have a screw does it fit with an external ball head mount? As in if I have a spare ball head laying around can I attach it at the top?
Yes you can as it is a 1/4 inch screw mount. If it is a smaller ballhead it would work.
@Jameses thanks! I might consider this one then
Suggest me a best tripod for iPhone
Ulanzi JJ02, I did a review on it. Light, Cheap & Functional.
Ulanzi certainly make some great products and at decent prices too .. I have a few of their products.
Yes they do! Same here Brian haha :)
what do you think compare to 44 and 54?
MT-79 and MT-54, which one you prefer and better to use?
I use MT-79 more often as it can go higher and is easy to transport
Will it hold mirrorles with small lens or something like 50mm f1.4?
Yes it can!
Is the extension metal. For the Ulanzi air tube light to magnetize to.
No it is not strong enough
Bro is it stable enough after rising it up with a mobile phone or lightweight APSC cam mounted?
Yes, I use it often with my APSC A6400 and now my Full Frame ZV-E1. As long as it's a light or kit lense, it will do fine. Just don't add anything more than a microphone to be safe.
@@Jameses cool!
Great review. New sub :) Graciass
Thanks! Glad it was helpful :)
What's the difference with MT44? and which is better?
MT-44 = Ball Head, Shorter
MT-79 = No Ball Head, Taller
If unsure, MT-44 is always the better option

Is it twist to lock? Or it is extended and hold in place by friction? Thx
The body is hold together by friction, only the feet has a twist lock to keep it from retracting its feet.
@@Jameses Ic thx, does it hold well?
@@jaycstudiossg yes does it hold well? or will it become loose overtime?
Can it carry hohum Isteady m6 fumble with iPhone 15 pro max?
What is a fumble? I wont recommend attaching a gimbal on top of it due to the design of the centre column
What prevents those telescopic section from folding back. Is there any lock mechanism?
Friction only. No, only for the feet there is a maroon lock.
@@Jameses Thank you.
@@Jameses does it becomes loose overtime? i mean if you use it always.
Which one better MT79 or MT54?
79
Great Video
Thanks!
Do you like it as a tripod? It's looks quite compact! Do you put another ball head on it?
Yes I love it for its height. Small ballheads is possible! As long as it can fit into a standard 1/4 inch screw mount, the weak point Is no ballhead that's all.
@@Jameses thanks... Singapore?
Yup. I am from Singapore 🇸🇬
@@Jameses I stay set coast lah.. 4 months per year. Quite local

how is this compare to insta360 Extended Edition Selfie Stick with Insta360 X3?

sir, do you recommend the mt79 than the mt44? I'm planning to buy one but I'm in a dilemma on which to buy. thank you.
Yes, the MT-79 can go taller and slightly more sturdy but it does not have a ballhead. So if you are on uneven ground the MT-44 is better.
@@Jameses i plan to buy a ulanzi U60 ballhead to pair it with the mt79. i only put gopro and phone on it. So, is it safe to say that i should buy the mt79?
Yes, it will work well. Your setup is light enough.
@@Jameses thank you sir for the reply. Mt 79 it its. But i just wonder why it is cheaper than the mt44.
They should have just included a 1/4 adapter so you can switch the heads.

if the "ballhead" was removeable , it would be a prefect tripod for 360 cameras.
still, interesting product, and good review Mr James !
Thank you friend, yeah the ballhead is the weak point but for the price still worth it
where is the subtitle
Hej, great video, thank you a lot. Ulanzi is super tripod. 👍
Thank you for the compliment! Yes, their tripods are super indeed.
Good vid thanks I have just ordered one from AliExpress and will use one of my ballheads with it
