The price is almost 2 whole seasons of The Budgeteers budget for 7 days! I'm sure it'll be awesome but unfortunately way out of my budget. Hopefully they'll be future ones I can join you in!

Hi Paddy, it's Ian here, the Aussie riding a bicycle around Southern Thailand. What a surprise it was on Sunday to look up and see my favourite UA-camr, in front of me. Apologies for interrupting your flow, but I enjoyed our little chat and look forward to seeing so much more of your entertaining posts.
@@markt1563 Mark, thanks very much for your concern. I consider the most important piece of kit on my bike is my mirror; it’s very gainfully employed. . With the mirror, I feel I have control, but there’s definitely a crazy driver out there who could get thru my defence. I’ve been posting to UA-cam if you like to see my set up.
So fun to watch. You always share a good vibe to your viewers. Thank you for enjoying the Thailand so far. Imagine how you are being nicely treated by Thai people
I can honestly say this is the only travel channel that makes me feel like i'm actually there traveling with you. It's so fun! Your videos are BETTER than the highest budget TV travel shows. When I want to relax and be transported to vacation, I watch one of your episodes. Thank you!! Keep going!!
One year ago, we were in Phuket for three days. We live up north in Phetchabun. It was such a great little trip because there weren't many people there. I hate weaving in and out of crowds and standing in line for everything. When you actually live in Thailand, you kind of wish the hoardes of tourists would never return. Selfish, I know, but as The Eagles sing in "The Last Resort," "You call some place paradise, kiss it goodbye." I really envy you for your brave year-long journey all over Thailand during the height of the pandemic with no crowds, but it was great seeing it all with you, Paddy.
Your camera came with a DJI microphone set? That is freaking awesome. I got mine a few weeks ago and it is the best thing in the market. Period you sound great.
A few tips about the DJI wireless mic: - You can boost the recording levels on the camera. I find the DJI wireless mic is too quiet. But if you turn on Pro mode on the camera, you can boost the audio up to 20 decibels. - The wireless mic doesn't have to be clipped to the outside of your shirt. You can put it under your shirt, too. Works fine from there. Then no one can see it. And I find the wind muff isn't needed. - I find that the sound is much improved when I plug a lavalier mic into the wireless unit. You can put the wireless unit in your pocket and then run the lavalier mic cord under your shirt to your shirt collar. This gives you the best of both worlds: the convenience of a wireless microphone combined with the crisp sound of a good lavalier mic. - The DJI wireless microphone doubles as a remote for the camera. You can press the "link" button on the microphone to start/stop video recording on the camera. (Or take a photo in photo mode.)
This helps me remember the difference between the three gimbal modes: 1. Follow Mode = Horizon Leveling 2. FPV Mode = Ordinary Camera 3. Tilt/Lock Mode = Terminator Mode (plus #4 a special "hidden" Gimbal-Lock Mode) 1. Follow Mode is just like using a GoPro with Horizon Leveling turned on. I find the name Follow Mode to be confusing, so I think of it as Horizon Leveling Mode. That's all it does. It keeps your horizon level, but you can still turn the camera from side to side and move it up and down. All it does is keep the horizon level so the video doesn't tilt. 2. FPV Mode is exactly like an ordinary camera. Basically, in FPV Mode, the Pocket 2 acts like a regular camera. That’s it. It takes video of whatever you point the camera at. Think of any camera you’ve ever had in your life, and that’s FPV mode. You can point the camera up. You can point the camera down. You can move it from left to right. You can put it on an angle. You can put it upside down. Whatever you do with the camera, that’s what the video or picture looks like. If you put the camera on an angle, the video is on an angle. In FPV mode, the Pocket 2 just behaves like a regular, standard fixed-lens camera. 3. In Tilt/Lock mode, the Pocket 2 can pan from side to side. And that’s all it can do. You can’t point the camera up or down. And you can’t put the camera on an angle. The camera is frozen in every way except that you can still move the camera from side to side. You can pan with the camera, but that’s all you can do. So, it is more like Panning Mode. But I Iike to think of it as Terminator Mode. The Terminator is locked on its target, but it still needs to be able to scan from side to side to look for new threats. So, it is laser-focused, but it is still able to pan from side to side with peripheral vision. SPECIAL GIMBAL LOCK MODE: Finally, the Pocket 2 has a special Gimbal-Lock mode. In this mode, the camera can’t even pan. It can’t do anything. DJI treats this as a special condition. But it really is a separate and complete gimbal mode all on its own. So, I think of it as mode #4. To enter Gimbal-Lock mode temporarily, you can press and hold the Function button (the one on the bottom). The gimbal is frozen in position for as long as you hold down the button. But you can also press and hold the Switch button (the one on top) for one second and then release it. This locks the gimbal in position permanently. And it stays locked until you push the Switch button again. This mode reminds me of the SpotMini robot from Boston Dynamics. SpotMini can extend its gripping arm and hold it absolutely still in all dimensions while the body can do whatever it wants. SpotMini can go up and down, move left to right, dance, rotate, do whatever it wants, and that gripping claw stays locked in 3-dimensional space. It’s freaky looking, and it makes the robot and this Pocket 2 look alive. That’s what Gimbal-Lock mode is like on the Pocket 2.
Hi paddy I've been catching up on some of your older videos I loved the bike tour with mark what a laugh. I would've loved to have done that when I was younger. Great scenery and great company and the odd beer of course . Look forward to your next video cheers paddy 👌👍
Ah!! You took my advice and got the DJI Pocket 2 (I'm sure others suggested that too)!! I love mine, and I'm sure you'll love yours as well. It's not perfect for EVERY scenario, but it's fantastic for most run-and-gun shooting situations, and with the wide angle lens vlogging is a breeze. Put it on top of a monopod and get great drone-like footage. For the mic, I clip the box to my belt and connect a wired lav mic. Work with it a bit and you'll get the hang of the modes. Congrats Paddy!
Hi Paddy, thank you very much for investing in a new camera and microphone just for us. They work lovely, rich colour picture and very clear voice. The gimbal will work well with a bit more episodes to come 👍👍👍
The new camera is great. The wireless mic is a great asset as well. The combination of all those tools utilized together are what will make things truly Next Level.
The new camera is awesome 🤩 definitely once you work it out it’s going to be a great addition anyways definitely a very good upgrade . Didn’t know much the old town but after watching your vlogs I’m really impressed. Your looking a lot more relaxed mate . Thanks again for another great Vlog 👍
That's a great camera. Once you learn how to use it properly, definitely changes your vlogging life. I'm also a DJI fan (I have myself a Mini2 and an OM4) but lately I got into the Insta360 cameras and those are also a very nice alternative for videomaking!!!
I think the active track mode can be used quite creatively on things other than yourself, for example on a statue to get an interesting perspective by using active track and walk around the statue. Or a shot of you walking down a street from camera right to camera left and it will follow you. Definitely more of a B-roll application than a vlogging one, but can bring an interesting creative addition to your content.
I had the original pocket and loved it, the sound is far better on the newer version. I even used it on my helmet a few times. Its a great camera and in conjunction with tbe ZV-1 you have most bases covered.
Sometimes it seems to be difficult to point to the good frame with this cam. But mostly the vid quality is very nice, the colors too. If you vlog and show yourself the frame is mostly very good.
Brilliant walk about . I'm definitely going to Phuket next time. Sound and picture was very good I thought. Looking forward to some more video's Paddy. Cheers
Great tour of the old Town Market on phuket. Always good to see you Paddy. I am a big fan of dji products, I sure the dji pocket 2 will be a great addition to your equipment. I don't think it ia a replacement for a full size camera. Unlike somethings size does matter. Great video, looking forward to more.
I loved visiting the Sunday Walking Street Market. Looks like you had a slightly less busy night of it than I did, but that's what I get for going during Songkran week. Paddy, I think it may not replace your existing cameras so much as compliment them. Your combination of footage from the 4 cameras can only get better with practice.
I watched this originally on my computer at work - I can't wait to see the difference on my new TV at home that has 4K. From my first view I think the clarity is pretty fantastic, and as you noted about the sound, I thought that the sound without the lav was actually pretty darn good. It'll be interesting to see how you incorporate this new camera into what you do! 😊 Oh, and the haircut looks great! 😁
I think the video and sound were fantastic... Looking forward to a video with rain in it or rain video maybe you can patch all your rain together just for us dry people that need a little water thank you Pat .... George
Great choice for vlogging. Especially as you can record in 4K 60 Hz. I just watched the roaming cook video afterwards where you did the turns on the road and it was recorded at a lower frame rate and the picture lossed sharpness and was jittery due to you doing fast turns and at a lower frame rate. So, for movements and also for rides on dreamy, 4 k 60 Hz and a great stabilisation yields excellent videos. There are many vloggers in Thailand walking the streets and their picture goes up and down and up and down with their body movement, the Dji Pocket 2 is smooth like silk and a great joy to watch. I hope it has a decent battery life too. Some more batteries to charge and carry around for you.
Made my night Paddy … i needed ANOTHER Old Phuket Town fix! Watching now…(I like the Old Town on a Tuesday too. Last time i was there I stayed at Casablanca Hotel - very nice budget place with a little pool too). The food in that town is exceptional!!
Pocket 2 of course. I use this little thingie really often. Easy to bring to every place and good stabilsation. I made many of my Phuket Videos on my channel also with the pocket 2. My recommandation: Not use the Ultrawide lense. The normal one is super. 4k/30. The Audio is super because it has many microphones.
Hi Buddy, the DJI Pocket footage was heaps sharper and clear compared to GoPro. I think it just needs time to master. Also I was impressed with the audio quality. Definitely keep filming with it
Looks pretty good to me and the sound was excellent for built-in mics. Quite surprised at how good the sound was for such a tiny mic. You'll get the hang of it and I'm sure you'll use it a lot in future.
Nice haircut Paddy 😊 We love this video! What a shame we never made it to the night market in old town Phuket & we were there for a month in February! We love the colorful European vibe this place has, very Instagram ready:) Also your new gadget is pretty cool, we love it and thanks for sharing the info about it with us!
Very good presentation, your skills are great, is droney a mini mavic or bigger? The resolution is great on that one, pluss its superb over water, so the optic meter must be good.👍 Some drones fall into the sea due to being flumoxed by moving surfaces.the tracking and boomerang features work well. The new hand held is remarkable, you need a better clip for the mic though.
Quality is a little soft on the edges but not bad! Have you considered the camera Herald Baldr and Bold & Bankrupt are using the Sony FDRX3000? Their videos always looks great, camera not too big also not too expensive.
I preferred the audio from the clip on mic. Picture quality not consistent but I think that was because you were playing around with, sorry, scientifically testing, the different modes. Of course you could get a gimble for your other camera(s) which would give you better stabilization and features like follow mode. But the size and weight of that thing is incredible! I think it will be a really practical tool that you'll end up using most of the time.
Hi Paddy, I have been following you since your Huahin videos。 I am also ZV-1 and pocket 2 user. I really like your ZV-1 videos because I feel atmosphere in the environment and also looks more realistic. Only the drawback is stabilizer, but if you shoot without a lot of moving, ZV-1 is the best among your cameras. Also, ZV-1 can shoot much better in low light and indoors. Pocket 2 is really good if you shoot when walking around, but sometimes too wide and whole atmosphere in the video is not as good as when using ZV-1. I am using D-cinelike mode with pocket 2 because normal color mode still uses digital-sharpening which smartphones use a lot to make the image sharper which I don't like. So, If I were you, I will use ZV-1 as a main camera, use Go-Pro for actions, and use pocket 2 when walking around.
Paddy even harder to find is Sangsom Blue or Black label. The last time I had Sangsom Black was in Khao Lak in 2018. Good stuff. Love the vlog. Keep it up!
Great vlog and awesome camera your vlog look fantastic on my tv and the sound is very good just wondering if the sound will still be good in windy conditions? That will a good test
Great video. Awesome camera! I'm surprised you went with that Pocket 2. No way to swap batteries, fragile piece of equipment, requires many optional parts to get top performance. Amazing for B roll but extremely hard to use as a main shooter.
Hey Paddy! It's really awesome camera, I'll buy one for sure and it's not expensive at all. We also visited night market in Phuket Town at approximately 6pm this Sunday how could we missed you, that was unfortunate . Would be nice to say hi to you!
That little dji pocket2 did almost a clean job practise more mate 😉 I got a Zhyun Smooth 5 gymbal for the phone vlogging and used it, down part of it, the total weight, and the gopro is easier to use in many weather types 😊 Anyhow i just keep on rambling sorry mate, as always, C Ya in the next one, cheers 🙌🍻
I thought the dji sound & picture were bloody good, sure you’ll master all the scene features over the next couple of weeks, the sound from the remote mic at distance was really good too… boys with toys 🤣
I have also purchased the DJI Mic. It's fantastic if you just want to hear your voice (or your and someone elses with the dual mic feature) and nothing else really. If I'm recording on my Hero 10, I prefer to hear background noise most of the time. As a viewer, the background noise/sounds give it a more raw and lived in feel. 8:10 That's an awkward story. 😂 Paddy, if I may ask, what sling are you wearing? I'm looking into slings for when I'm in Thailand this June. Maybe one that can hold a DJI Mavic 3, flight controller plus a Hero 10 at the same time. The Aer brand of slings seem nice.
Nice to see you enjoying playing with your new toy. A great "B " cam but will always prefer the more cinematic shots with the larger sensor ( so your Sony ) the image on the DJI just looks a little "flat" , seems more work to do with colour profiles, or come up with a good lut system .
Hey Paddy, great video…. Random question! At about 9 minutes into this video there is a hotel by the name of 2Rooms is in the background (pink building). I’ve had my eye on this hotel to stay at when we come to Thailand in January for three months. I was just wondering whether you checked it out whilst you were in the area?
They got the new mic that dji just released and is an upgrade to the older wireless mic system. But overall for the size of the pocket 2 and convenience is just worth it. Looks fine to me
Hi mate I love your channel I simply want to know what is the best mini camera I could get to strap to me to film as I’m a solo traveller and this would be a good option for me
i much preferred your videos when you were on the road, and your content was of all the interesting places that you went to on a particular day. I guess some people are interested in your technical stuff, but I much preferred your previous vids............
Hey Paddy love your channel thank you for the great content , just thought to add that the wish is there will be one camera to do all the work but there will alway be compromises . I feel like a Phone , drone and that new camera could work but its the content that matters , have a wonderful day your awesome
Hiya Paddy, that camera is so tiny. The sound was great. Nice bit of kit. Thank you for the tour around. Enjoyable video as always. Have a great afternoon.
We've also just started using the dji pocket 2, we absolutely love it, a complete game changer for us. The advantages totally outweigh the disadvantages for us.
Nice camera. I like the various modes. Once you get the handle of it it'll add so much to your videos. We looked forward to the next stage of Epic Next Level Adventures 😎 Price in the United States is $349USD Price in Baht?
Great choice of camera, been using mine for a while and no complaints, have the combo with wireless mic, wide lens and nd filters, works good in low light, decent zoom in post, takes some getting used too, mix of gopro and the dji pretty much covers everything, suggest you film at 30fps which gives you better low light footage and the option to film at 60fps for B-roll slo-mo enjoy :)
A tip for you Paddy, if you use face tracking but don’t want to be in the centre of the frame, pretty sure you can adjust your framing with the joystick. 😁
Terrific walk around of old market. Would like to see more. Like the interaction with the vendors and locals. Thanks for the camera demo. I'm just getting started so very interested in new technology and how to select only what you need so you are as capable and portable as possible. I liked the result of using the DJI Pocket 2. Worked well.
Nice camera. However, yes, it works best with your other gear. Sound went from clear to slightly muffled. Walking farther down the street and back while maintaining consistent vocal level worked nicely. Suggestion for zooming techniques -- watch any Ken Burns doc for tips on that. I'm a fan of the closeup, then drawing back to the establishing shot. Have fun. Looking forward to the next episode. Best . . . dcb

What a cool little camera.....I'm sure you will master it. Love Phuket Old Town!
Hope so too ♥️
I preferred the audio from the clip on mic.
Hi Paddy, I have been following you since your Huahin videos。
I am also ZV-1 and pocket 2 user.
Love the scene while you're in the market testing new camera 😂 .. walking back and forth 😂 making me smile . Thanks paddy
You taught me a lot in this video. Thank you!
Thanks 😊
Great video. Awesome camera! I'm surprised you went with that Pocket 2. No way to swap batteries, fragile piece of equipment, requires many optional parts to get top performance. Amazing for B roll but extremely hard to use as a main shooter.
Can’t wait to come to this market in November,,cheers Paddy
Thai Ballard is very soothing 🙏
i knew it was dji camera as you move on around and the tracking it make..the scene from dji were fantastic..
The new camera really looks better. The zoom actually is not bad. You can adjust the speed of it. Looks great. Great job
Hey Paddy! It's really awesome camera, I'll buy one for sure and it's not expensive at all. We also visited night market in Phuket Town at approximately 6pm this Sunday how could we missed you, that was unfortunate . Would be nice to say hi to you!
Thanks for the inside look...for a beginner which is more user friendly ??? 😎
That little dji pocket2 did almost a clean job practise more mate 😉
I got a Zhyun Smooth 5 gymbal for the phone vlogging and used it, down part of it, the total weight, and the gopro is easier to use in many weather types 😊
Anyhow i just keep on rambling sorry mate, as always, C Ya in the next one, cheers 🙌🍻
Paddy, if I may ask, what sling are you wearing? I'm looking into slings for when I'm in Thailand this June. Maybe one that can hold a DJI Mavic 3, flight controller plus a Hero 10 at the same time. The Aer brand of slings seem nice.
I too mention 8.10..I think Paddy deleted it lol
Great Video Paddy! What is the weather like atm?
Any plan to visit Koh Sirey? So charming and underrate place. Rum; taste it at Chalong Bay Distillery
Thank you Paddy for s very enjoyable vlog. Well you know about my country much more than me🙄 48 years in the UK! Ps enjoy your new toy. 🙏
Did you colour graded ? Looks amazing
The quality is much better 🥳
They got the new mic that dji just released and is an upgrade to the older wireless mic system. But overall for the size of the pocket 2 and convenience is just worth it. Looks fine to me
Hi mate I love your channel I simply want to know what is the best mini camera I could get to strap to me to film as I’m a solo traveller and this would be a good option for me
Excellent Job & Excellent Video
Good luck with the new camera I will follow with interest.
Please please please does anybody know the song playing at 0:50? It's so good :(
So far, I think the new camera is a good purchase.
Looking forward to your next vlog with the new camera 👍
You should definitely put an affiliate link for that camera in the description! Great video though!
I have the DJI zennmouse 3 older but still works great the only fault is you have to hold trigger for it to face follow
i much preferred your videos when you were on the road, and your content was of all the interesting places that you went to on a particular day.
Thanks Nicky 😊
I’m coming back to thailand next month, love this country so much. Are u still there?
Really nice camera! I also think the face tracking mode feels a bit unnatural but the audio is amazing. Does Ian have a channel?
Thanks Moe. He has buy he didn't tell me the name 🤣
We've also just started using the dji pocket 2, we absolutely love it, a complete game changer for us. The advantages totally outweigh the disadvantages for us.
I’m a massive fan of you and your channel
New camera looks great 👍 Cool to have the follow-me mode 👌
🙏♥️🙏
Nice camera. I like the various modes. Once you get the handle of it it'll add so much to your videos. We looked forward to the next stage of Epic Next Level Adventures 😎
Price in the United States is $349USD
Price in Baht?
Image quality looks good. Finally stepping up to 4K.
What is your new camera? I love it so much... It's a lot better than the old one .... and How much is it? Thanks.
Hi Paddy! Will there still be food and people around 11pm?
Which drone do you use..?
A tip for you Paddy, if you use face tracking but don’t want to be in the centre of the frame, pretty sure you can adjust your framing with the joystick. 😁
Terrific walk around of old market. Would like to see more. Like the interaction with the vendors and locals. Thanks for the camera demo. I'm just getting started so very interested in new technology and how to select only what you need so you are as capable and portable as possible. I liked the result of using the DJI Pocket 2. Worked well.
Awesome camera 🥳
What a great dji pocket 2 review !
Best . . . dcb
Copy that David!
Try it at low lights too, good 😀
Is it the DJI osmo? I've seen backpacking bananas use it and it looks great
The vegan table is a great feed in Phuket town
Sounds good to me, pretty clean.
You got us dizzy with this new camera
Time for panadole.
Yep all good would love one
