Fabric Scraps Project 1 - Turn Strips into a Diagonal Patchwork
Вставка

- This is a great quick and easy project to use up some of your fabric scrap strips from quilting and patchwork.
I offset each of these strips about 3/4 of an inch. The degree of diagonal slant is a factor of the offset and the width of the strip. Experiment to find what you like.
If you want to make diagonals in opposite direction like in this quilt top then do half of your strips measure the offset at the bottom; travelling up the steps from bottom left to top right. And the second half with the offset measured from the top; travelling down the steps from top left to bottom right.
Two requests:
what is this pattern called?
what should I do with this? It's 6"wide by 22"long?
Check back later for fabric scraps project number 2 where I'll use the triangles and the larger strips. Or subscribe and sign up for notifications.
The blue is perfect in the project. But then blue is my favorite color in.
Exactly how i wish more people would dive into their fabrics! More sewing... less "purchasing"...LOL
The off placement is what gives it character!!! Keep going!
Thanks Barbara
Tough job done by you very nicely ❤❤
The way you are describing the pattern it's known as the chevron pattern I believe.
Enjoyed your video ✌🏻♥️
Awesome! Thank you!
Herring bone
I was thinking that too, but I think you see in the square ends in herringbone?
Love it
Thanks Lesley
Chevron.
Yes, that's it
Chevron
Exactly
Would make a great table runner. Cats and quilts? A natural symbiosis. Love it.
I have two very similar runners, three could be too much in one spot, but I could put them on rotation
French Braid? Thank you for sharing.
Great description for it
