I will give him an "A" for determination. I notice that there is no test flight video to be found. Some of the design appears contrary to standard aircraft design. Doesn't mean it won't fly, but it looks heavy and subject to fatigue damage in a very short time. Men gotta dream! Good luck!
I think that some of us were expecting to see that "plane" flying. If it doesn't fly it is just a useless scale model. He should change the title and be honest, if it doesn't flies it is not a plane.
I am absolutely not an arm chair engineer but the spars and the wood he is using is not structurally sound. He's got the spirit at least. It actually is more of a Zenith aircraft more than anything. He does have the control surfaces right and he has the spars in a good spot. Who knows he may actually have used some actual good wood but by the looks of it, it seems like old MDF. Not good for a airplane's structure.
AS an aeronautical engineer the chordwise centre of lift is roughly 25% of the chord length back from the leading edge. This man's spar is much too near the leading edge. I would definitely move the forward spar back to 25% of the chord length. Since the airfoild is thickest in the region, a higher (hence more stiff) spar could be installed. Same for the rear spar.
It’s ain’t even supposed to fly, it’s just there for show m8, the materials he use for the plane ain’t even dat durable and sturdy, it’ll rip apart if flown
Enjoyed watching your interesting project. It does not matter that it will never fly. That is logical. Any how, there are also static planes around the world.
Right, what he’s done here is take a template for an aluminum rib and machine onto wood. You can’t do that because the rib will fail in shear somewhere because of wood grain alignment
Extremely poor engineering. With a thick airfoil like that he got flimsy low profile spars when he could have, for the same weight, a spar four times stronger if he used all the height he has available. Spars and ribs are a joke and materials are dubious. This guy has no clue and he is a public hazardous for those praising his job if they follow this kind of construction and for those he is going to fly over.
@@zefkostam8 obviously you have no idea about aircraft mechanics at all so how bouts you try being positive he may have had the grain of wood on the right way you must have eyes like an eagle to be able to see the grains in the wood if you anything about aircraft kit building a lot of ultra lights under the experimental rego that have half the amount of strength that this young lad has built I can assure you that wing will work out well he’s a very smart lad that needs encouragement not negativity maybe instead of saying it like a tool exsplain every thing rather than trying to shame the bloke for having a fair dinkum crack people like yourself add there two bobs worth but actually have no aircraft maintenance or engineering qualifications so if I’m wrong and you are a lame like myself why not exsplain it in a respectful way

or build a plane from old bike frames . or timber ..two by four frame or ...some way simpler construction just crude wood and plyplates as wings , would it work , fun vid for youtube safer to remote control with man weight sandbag in seat. or old plane wings on old car drive till lifts no propeller.
mmm I doubt that I can use the controls. I think I saw at minute 2:58 that it has the rudder connected to the wing and the slats are not exactly ailerons. If you don't correct that, you will most likely have an accident, watch out. And many other things like weight and balance quality of materials , and more. Luck...
just do not try to fly on it, you have the wrong design of the wing rib, it does not make such a thing out of wood, at least using plywood so that the plywood rolls repeat the rib lines
Te felicito por tu proyecto eres muy bueno y de que va volar seguro se eleva , pero tiene muchas fallas estructurales y de calidad de materiales , puedes morir en el primer vuelos , es solo una opinión más
Nononono.... This is not an aircraft, ok. It's a vague facsimile of an aircraft. If it gets off the ground, it's going to fold up around you, hopefully while you're no higher than ten feet.

Great skills and I admire your work and I wish you success but !!!!!!!!!
Parabéns pelo excelente trabalho! Bons vôos!
Wow very good
very nice!
Look is good, good job
Parabéns! saudações do Brasil.
Excellent...
Good
Super
Awesome!
What is the thickness of the wood for the ribs please ? and which type is this wood ?
Don't use tree wood, it's very heavy and I doubt it will fly, use balsa wood
Mostra ele voando vc está de parabéns
Can it fly? It looks so cool🤩

Hello I am from Iran thank you
excellent work
Nice work sir. I like to do this too. Wish you good luck
those plywood ribs look three-time heavy.
Maybe four
I'm going to build one like that but for 20 people with balsa wood
where does he get the propeller from?

По-моему это вообще фейк какой-то, там уже обтянутое крыло явно не с такими толстенными нервюрами, да и кадры обтягивания - ерунда какая-то.

What wood is that
In engineering the is such a thing as strength of materials.
Excelent
Watch out your spar. Make sure you have done the load test
please get a copy go AC 43-13 and read it. There are reasons that wing ribs are made of lots of little sticks and gussets.

Those look like airplane parts but they're not. There is a great deal more to engineering than just copying a shape.

Greetings from Chile, excellent job, where are you from? Tell me, did you fly? a greeting
That would never pass a CAA inspection on any level !

The most heavy wing in the world,!!!!! This will never take off.

if weight is no issue than this is probably an ok rib design. Otherwise it's just.. not so much of a great idea.
Structure…appears very heavy…!!!
Design is useful maybe for an RC airplane, but not for real ultralight. Please don´t try to fly!!!
А как центровку вычислил ?
