Loved this, BT. And the FOMO / “How do I make some content out of this?” is so real. I’m going away for a week for the 4th and wondering how I can squeeze some videos out of it for the photography channel. Appreciate you being so open and honest!
It feels like everything you do has to be “worth it” like if every second of everything you do isn’t content you’re not making the most of it and that’s a crap feeling.
The last point about always being ON is sooooo dang true. I absolutely love what I get to do, but wish I could just shut my brain off once in a while and just enjoy whatever I’m doing in that moment.
One of the things that's helped me stay present with trips with family and things like that where I'll bring a camera. And I'll still record content but more in the sense of "no expectations". Meaning, anything I'm capturing is simply for the sake of memory. I may or may not even edit it. Maybe make it all professional and everything but it's only being distributed if at all to family. I have found that my immediate family and in-laws have appreciated this shift from me. It may mean less videos for the public - thus a direct effect on the immediate bottom line. But what matters to me is that I get to practice my craft and share with those whom I care about.
Yeah my family knows I'm gonna have a camera on me, but I now bring small point and shoots, cameras where I'm not really incentivized to record "Content" But just good memories for us to share. Thanks for the suggestion on how you make it work man.
Or you could just be like me and view everything as "nah...people won't want to watch that," and then go about your day. Maybe I should make a video about THAT. 😅
Thanks for being transparent about this. I have always said you are sooooo underrated in the tech/fitness world of UA-cam. I am excited to watch your channel grow! Have you thought about ways to reach a wider audience or improve your engagement? Let’s get that sub count up 🫡

Other than dealing with brands that don’t have their shit together it’s the only true downside (for me personally) to this job

The "watercolor" Melin hats are so fire! Another great video BT! Your edits are top notch.
I’ve never had so many compliments on a hat thanks man. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Cheers!

But would people want to watch that? 😏😏 but yes you should.
What is this is dystopia here already?
No clue what you mean.
You are basically a pdf-file
No clue what that means

Thanks incredibly kind of you. It’s not something I worry to much about. I’m doing what I want and how I do it.
