Seriously after just purchasing a denon with serato and going through tons and I mean TONS of intro to serato videos THIS video right here just made everything a game changer!!!! Been using Traktor for years and used VDJ before that. The command keys being the same as using your browser is nice and the fact that you can select sort by BPM & Key blows my mind.

2:27 You can also lock the deck, which imo is much more helpful than having to undo a mess that was already created. The deck unlocks when the song ends or when it is paused so there's really no down side given how you're supposed to load upcoming tracks on other decks regardless.
This trick is more beneficial for DVS users. You’ll find a lot of vinyl DVS DJs will keep it unlocked for faster loading. However the lock playing deck is also a great shout!!

An addendum to the Prepare List: if you load a song from the prepare list, then change your mind, you don't have to find it in the library and re-add it. You can drag it from the deck back to the prepare list, then load a new song onto the deck. The old song will be back on the prep list.

For that organizing tip with cmd+click is that only able to work for the keys and bpm? I tried to do it by date added and bpm but I couldn't get it to work
+StarCityShowtyme I've had it working with date added too. I'll double check again but you can only do two columns not three so just make sure that bpm and key isn't still chained together or anything.

Here a tip for going from Traktor to Serato or vice versa and and want to keep all your ID3 tags. Use rekord buddy. Works only for MAC users though

It's a tricky one, it depends how you store you music currently. If it's located in folders on your computer then there are third party software's out there that will search your entire computer for duplicate files. Dupeguru is one we have used which seems to work pretty well. Then to find those files in Serato DJ you can rescan id3 tags under the files panel. This will then show up the missing files in orange.
cmd z wow, wish they had that on cdj's bor vinyl, think that was my fve way to bugger up the mix in a club

Putting bpm and key in order at the same time using cmd isn't working
+Unite the Kingdom make sure you have the latest version installed of Serato DJ. It was a feature quite recently added to one of the newer updates.

+tyrone jacobs you can't analyse more files than it currently automatically does. You can zoom in and out of the waveform just by hitting the plus and minus button on your keyboard. Hope that helps!

I have the mixtrack pro 3, I downloaded the serato dj software trial...I dont see the analyse files option so I dont have the bpms listed on the different tracks
+Alute Paskle you need to make sure you controller is unplugged to analyse your files. Once unplugged analyse files should show up on the top left of your library.

How to make crates like you have with different genresof music...at times I've accidentally dragged a crate and it kinda sticks out from the top crate...Not sure what I did..but some info on how it's done would help sir..Thanks again
What you have done are called sub crates. This happens when you drag one crate on top of another. You can drag the crate back out of being a sub crate too.

on a side note I am currently using a denon mc2000 controller, it suits my needs perfectly as I am not a particularly technical or performance based dj, but still gives me the range to explore and have fun. have u guys reviewed or used this controller? what are your opinions on it? and also do you have any tips about this controller

These is probably a n00b question, but the files in the Transition Automated crate, how do you use them? Do you load a transition-automated-track that starts with the currently playing track, switch over to the transition-automated-track by having it start playing exactly along side the currently playing track and do a transition via the volume fades (so people do not know you switched), load the song the transition-automated-track ends with and start playing it in sync with the transition-automated-track and then doing another transition with the volume fades? Or do you do it another way? I'm just starting and could use some help...
+AIRGLØW the automated transition tracks simply change in bpm. For example a hip hop track has been edited to loop the instrumental at something like 128bpm. This then lasts 16 bars before slowly changing down in bpm to its original speed, 100bpm for example. Therefore I would mix the 128bpm part with another house track. Get rid of the previous house track after 16 bars of mixing. Let the transition do its thing, then just mix a new hip hop/100bpm or thereabouts track into the other end of the transition track.
By the way the transition edits are mostly from DJ City. Check them out!

Hello , As I have seen in other tutorial , there is option MIDI . So , I would like to know and eventually see how to use MIDI option. I am interested in this software . I am playing on Arturia Mini Lab MIDI controller.
