Some very astonishing scenery! So gorgeous.
Interesting…we were there from Jan30-Feb6 2023. Enjoyed the Ajo drive and the Victoria mine desert hike the most.
We can’t wait to go back. Love that area.
Pumpkin bread topped with whipped cream !!!!!
Excellent. We made one trip to OPCNM last December and loved it. Would enjoy a meet up someday.
I think we were there the same time as you. Love the ranger talks. Whew couldn’t see the comet either. Enjoins your videos!
Would have loved meeting you.
We did that window trail hike too and also turned back. They need better signage at the trail head to warn folks. We loved Organ Pipe. One of our favorites. We start back to NY this week. Enjoy your travels.
@@nancycusumano2776 Feels like spring is just around the corner. Safe travels.
FSTM,,HELLO DEBBY&JOHN,,,NICE SRE,PIPE ORGAN CACTUS, on my first trip toVIRGIN GORDA,BVI, outside our cottage ,there was smallerPIPE ORGON CACTUS,BUT also, wild FRANGAPANI , (PULMERIA ), as we watch the sundown, from the veranda ,, enjoyed, your trip, until, next time, take care,,,,,,,,,🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
We hiked the eastern section of Saguaro National Park and I could swear the cacti were whispering to us !
They'd have some lessons to teach us!
Meet up would be super. Beautiful sunset. Enjoying your videos, and safe travels. 👍🚗🇺🇸
We love organ pipe ,and sign us up for a meet & greet, if in the correct state at the right time we'll be there..
You had me at Omnia Oven!!
I love how you guys are enjoying your days traveling all over and bring us these wonderful videos that are candid and fun to watch. God Bless!
I really needed this video to get me out of my bad mood. Thank you!!!
Sometimes you see the comet sometimes you don't. But you sure made it funny to watch. Thank you ALL stay safe
Really enjoyed the video. Sweet and funny.
We must have just missed you at Organ Pipe Cactus NP! We were there February 10-17 in group camping with fellow Travato and class B owners. Group camping was great. Organ Pipe was lovely. Ended up spending about a month traveling all over southern Arizona. Must have passed you on the road! 🚐
That's good to know. I wasn't sure how they would feel about a bunch of vans in the group camping area. Looked like site 1 would be the best.
@@FromShetoMe yes. Site 1 was very comfortable and had hot showers and clean restrooms. There was water but no other hookups. Happy travels. 🚐
I would love to meet you at a camping meetup! I have been in Tucson all winter when Im not out camping in my van. However I am headed to New England and Canada for the summer. Next year I plan to again spend the winter in Tucson so will be on the lookout if you plan anything for next winter in the west.
Looks like the Omni Oven is a winner
Yes, Reed and Judy (EKKO) vote for a meet up somewhere west coast. It was so great meeting you and John at Organ Pipe and we look forward meeting some of your other fans if a location can be worked out. Thank you
You two are delightful. Look forward to seeing you again.
My husband and I ran into your husband on the Palo Verde Trail. I said a couple of times that he looked familiar. He finally asked if I watched videos on UA-cam. Of course! That’s it! I watch your videos and have enjoyed them so much. I’ve learned a lot from them. We went looking for you later that week but couldn’t find your van. Would have loved to have met you. You do a fantastic job with your videos!😊
We love the Organ Pipe area and the campground. It’s one of our favorites.
Thanks. I would have loved to have met you. John must have been out while I was editing.
Yes, meet-ups would be fun!
Hi folks - Lovely video. We must have been there at virtually the same time. Take care. Shawn and Corinne.
Every time I see a red van, I take a hard look to see if it's you guys.
Good to see someone else not good at operating in the O-Dark-Thirty. Saw the solar eclipse through the Ranger’s telescope at Great Basin. Have the folks “Smarter than Dirt” suggest a spot within the locus of your viewer dispersion. Another good vid with funny John.
Deb and John, Lynn and Owen. What a wonderful way to start a Sunday adventure. Thank you for all your effort. It is very much appreciated.
I sure enjoy your videos. You are very talented. I look forward to your videos each week!
Thank you so much!
Love you dressing in the early morning. The giddy laugh….I totally get it. Meet up on the east coast??
That would be good.
I found Monkey Bread at Walmart in the freezer department. I'ts microwaveable and only takes 2 -2 1/2 minutes to heat up. Now I'm addicted. Thanks...
Thanks so much for your videos. We enjoy the beauty and the fun you share. We are heading to southern Arizona and have made notes. 😀
So great meeting you guys a meet up would be great! Jeff and Liz
For sure. We’ll be in your neck of the woods this summer.
A meet up would be cool.
Looked like a lot of effort for no reward with that Green Comet😢 very funny😊
Yes but always worth a try.
What a beautiful sunset! Thanks for another great video!
Did you have a couple of drinks watching the ranger talk and feeling a bit tipsy putting on you hoodie! 😂. As always, thanks for the video and adventure! Love the sunsets pics!
Seriously, I shouldn’t try to dress at 5 am.
You really do some good cinematography, and you’re editing is great!
Thank you so much!
Great pictures and editing. Thanks a lot.
Excellent editing, background music and scenery shots !
Love this small part of the world... it makes the Mojave Desert, truly look like a desert
Liked, Subscribed and most definitely Shared !
Thank you very much!
I would SOOOO love a meetup! You have been my inspiration for several years. Somewhere in the west, please. 💕
We’ll make it happen. Thanks.
What a cool place, I need to go. Thanks
Beautiful sunset
This❤️Video is so amazing from start to finish...Debbie...you did not have to speed up your drive on my account..It was so green and peaceful and so Southwest.
I love when you cook anything but that Omnia Oven is magical in your hands.
Thank you for making our Sundays so special.
Love love love❤️
You are so welcome!
I drove that road too in late January. I enjoyed camping at the Organ Pipe Cactus NM. I would love to meet up with you sometime. Thanks for the video.
Hi a meet up in Crystal cove would be fantastic!
It would. I just wish their campground weren’t so booked out.
That would be convenient for us, but it's tough to get just one spot there.
Stopped mid video to answer….YES! Would definitely love a meet up. Since we still work and live on the TN/VA line, not sure when we could do that. Love the video, as always. You and John are a hoot!
We’ll have to work on multiple locations when we are traveling east again.
A meet up would be lots of fun. Interested. Are you using a 360 camera?
@@ForrestSeavey1 Not in this video. I bought a 360 camera a few months ago but couldn't find it as we were leaving. But I have now found it.
We were there for a week in January. This is my favourite park.
It is special.
Ah, Petrichor a word not often used. But people always wonder about the smell after a rain on dry, hot surfaces. Another enjoyable video. Hope I can attach something I wrote in 2019.
Petrichor
There are times
When a natural phenomenon chimes
And your senses recognize sublime
Like the smell of the air
After the rain stops
It just pops.
A magical elixir, a potion
Earthiness from the fusion of elements
Wafting from earths kitchen

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
I Look forward to your videos! Thanks for all the hard work in sharing them on UA-cam! Great scenery, love to join you vicariously on your adventures! We'd love to participate on a future meetup!
We’d love to connect at “meet up”. It was great seeing you and John in Borrego, but it’s been too long! We need to get out and camping again!
LOL, as soon as the weather permits. What a winter this has been!
I think those little thing you saw in the rock are moqui marbles. We have them in the red rocks of southern Utah. They are iron deposits formed through erosion. They eventually break free and are actually marbles😉.
Thanks so much! I can now look them up.
Thanks for another future destination to visit. It was a fun video. Btw we have an office space there too. Lol
Thanks for the Tahoe bonus. Still have family that lives there. Denise’s mom had a home in the keys literally steps from the lake our other happy place. Hopefully your son and family are safe and shoveled out. This is one for the record books and even closer to our homes here in SoCal 🥶wow what a winter.
Laurie and Denise
I guess they got several more feet over the weekend. Whew.
Love Organ Pipe. Note on the drive featured in this video… it is so beautiful. While it is only 21 miles, it took us 8 hour in our class B Roadtrek Zion. And when we got back to our campsite EVERYTHING was coated in a layer of dust. Still worth the drive but wanted to share the complete experience. Also, the showers at the national park campground are solar heated so are Only hot during the day when we were there last February.
8 hours, wow. The wet weather kept the dust down for us. Yes, I should have mentioned about the showers. We used ours in the van.
The desert is so beautiful, sunset shots are fabulous! Safe travels! 🌞🍀
Thanks for the vids. You are a great story teller and weave together a great tale each week.
I was wondering what gaiters you use. I checked your amazon link but you don't have them linked there.
“Dirty Girl” gaiters. Not available on Amazon.
We need your monkey bread recipe!! Please!
It appears that my response to you has disappeared so I’ll have another go. Pillsbury biscuits cut in quarters, 6 Tbls melted butter, pkg of cook and serve butterscotch pudding(not instant), and nuts. Bake until internal temp is about 190-200. I always use an instant read thermometer.
We live in Spokane but just bought a part time place in Green Valley, Arizona. We’d love to a group camp in either place. FYI if you’re ever near Spokane you should check out Boundary Dam campground up near the Canadian border for some free camping. It wouldn’t be good for a group though. We’re heading to AZ soon. I hope to check out Ajo.
We’ll most likely be in Spokane early summer to visit my brother and sister. Thanks for the tip.
Great video! We would love to come to a meet up.
Note to self from your video… spend more time in Organ Pipe! We did the Ajo loop in our 25 ft. Winnebago View- NP. Did you ever get a close view of the arch from your hike? Have you ever seen the Crested Organ Pipe along the loop? For us more RV electrical repairs and we are back visiting family in Asheville, NC. Weathered our first Tornado Watch this week with the crazy storms marching across the country. Safe travels!
The trail to the arch was so slippery, I turned back. One woman said she slipped 20 feet down. So we’ll save it for our next trip. Yes, have seen the crested cactus. Nature is amazing. Quite common among some succulents but not often seen in a saguaro.
Would love to do a meet-up. We live in Reno and are planning a trip in April either a Mid-West trip or an Arizona/Monument Valley trip. Haven't decided yet.
We are hoping to be in Tahoe a lot this year. We’ll try to do a meet up in the area.
You might want to let the weather choose your April location.
We would be thrilled to meet up with you "rock stars" sometime! 😀
I’ll try to find some. 😁 maybe we will suffice until then.
I want a painted rock 🤫
Great video! I would like to get down there for at least part of a winter. This has been a cold snowy winter in Idaho and it just s keeps on going.
We feel your pain. What an amazing winter.
Can you send me the ingredients you use for your fabulous monkey bread?
It's just a package of pillsbury grands cut into fourths, 1 package of cook and serve butterscotch pudding (NOT INSTANT), 1/4 cup (or so) of melted butter, and nuts. I think I sometimes also drizzle maple syrup on it. I always use an instant read thermometer to test for doneness.
@@FromShetoMeThank you so much! I can’t wait to make it!
The Green Comet was a bunch of media hype.
Haley’s Comet was a bit overhyped as well but we did go to Death Valley and see it with binoculars. Looked like a Q-tip. 😁
As I write this there is still snow outside and more planned for today. Not as much as your short clip from South Lake Tahoe, but enough to keep us indoors by a warm fireplace. It's very enjoyable watching your desert travel adventures, I do need to plan a desert camping trip, you and John do so much when you're in the desert. I love it when you use your Omnia oven! The monkey bread and pumpkin loaf looked awesome. Maybe some has asked you this in the past, but wat is your favorite omnia oven recipe's, what episode did you cook those in and have you done an episode of omnia oven recipes? Do your readers share their recipes with you? Sorry for all these questions, but can you tell I just bought an Omnia oven and would love any recipes you would like to share! Safe travels!
I’m terrible when it comes to organizing that sort of thing. But there is a Facebook group that’s all about the oven. Try a quick read first. They’re so easy. Be sure to carry an instant read thermometer to test for doneness. Email me with any questions.
@@FromShetoMe Thank you so much! Boy, Facebook has a group for everything! By the way, count us in on any meet and greet you plan.
I tried to see the green comet too but no luck. A friend said you really needed a telescope which is what he saw it through. Would love doing a meet-up with you all and my friends with a Travato as well. I am now on a short trip in Az. I visited Grapevine Canyon near Laughlin where my friend and I saw so many petroglyphs, it was amazing. It's so good to finally be out on the road again. I am trying to figure out your brown objects embedded in that rock, did you ever find out?
No, I didn’t.
Ah, petrichor, love the smell. Just recently started making candles with this scent blended in, I love the smell of wet dirt!! So did you just pull and take whatever was available to camp? Or did you have reservations? We really want to go check that out. We went to KOFA last month near Palm Canyon, super cool place also in AZ, near Quartzsite, BLM land. We love your videos ❤️
A day out, I made a reservation for a few nights and then we decided to extend which was not a problem.
How's your hand doing from the needle stick from cactus?
Once it was removed, no problems whatsoever.
Fun video…beautiful sunset. We’d be interested in a meetup…depending of time and location. 🏜️💕
