- 9.1.16 - I shot this at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN. This was the first Revolution show of 3 that took place at the legendary venue. A moving tribute to the man we called Prince.
people forget, these performers knew Prince personally. You can see it was hard for Wendy to sing it. Thanks Wendy, always loved the chemistry you and Prince had.
Yes, and it was difficult for all them that night. I was only able to attend the first show. Hearing from friends that attended the next two, by the 3rd, they all had loosened up, and started to really get into celebrating the music. Also, you can see that from the video that is on here from those shows. Which I am seeing is slowly being taken down, one by one.
that's the woman right there that knew Prince better then any other woman. love you Wendy.
Sherry lynn - Lisa lived with Prince .Wendy never did
Sherry lynn It was her twin that he dated.
Maybe.
We will Never know.
Good point.
I cried in '24 and am not ashamed.
I was at this show. Incredibly emotional. I was backstage with Wendy after the show, she said it was a very tear filled show.
A thousand emotions right there.
Done with emotion and love...........Thank you Wendy and Lisa.
What a line,””Love isn’t love till it’s past.”
I could tell Wendy was trying not to cry. This was beautiful yet hard to watch
Yes, it was a very emotional night, but the Revolution brought it like only they could, with LOVE & RESPECT. Not a dry eye in the place. I wasn't sure I was going to keep the camera steady long enough through the tears. LOVED this performance, real emotion, and real love for the man we call Prince.
Lisa Burlington I don't know how you kept it together. I would of lost it
It was tough, let me tell ya!
It was TOUGH.
Lisa Burlington Ya'll are true Beautiful Ones...
When you understand that Wendy is playing the cords that she would play and singing backup to the parts of the song song would sing when she and Prince sang together is even more heartbreaking ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜Thank you. This has been my favorite of many to love. I'm so happy to see you giving the heart to it that it deserves.
Wendy and Lisa are the most genuine people that were in his life
This song breaks my heart every time I hear it. I cry all through it. April will always be purple for me.
same here
I felt every emotion she was dealing with. A great tribute to a great artist. R.I.P Roger Nelson Prince.
Perfect Wendy. Thank you. No one else could have sung it better in honor of him.
I completely agree. She, as well as, the rest of the Revolution struggled emotionally throughout the show, but were absolutely amazing. By the end, you could see on all their faces, they were mentally exhausted. I will never forget it. EVER.
Lisa did an amazing getting through that beautifully sang performance.
I don't think I could make it through it all without breaking down.
She's a fuckin trooper! 💜
I can't sing with her without crying. God bless she made it thru the song. Those people in the audience helped her thru. I would have appreciated the support trying to sing such an emotional song. She is everything. Thank you Wendy, bless u. Keep the purple flame lit. You are his heir, his alpha and omega, his family in music.
It was a tough song to get through. It was a pretty emotional throughout the entire show. If you watch the other video I posted (Purple Rain), she was about in tears at the end. We all had one another, that's for sure.
Eipnvn Really ALL his real family!! They loved PRINCE & still do...! I think his friends (fans) loved him PRINCE more then his blood family... 💜💜🎼😘
She and Lisa made the Purple Rain demo music for him and Prince added the lyrics in the song. Thank you Lisa and Wendy for making Purple Rain the biggest hit. Two wonderful talented women and one talented musical genius....my baby Prince. Love them all.
My first boyhood crush. I love you, Wendy! RIP Prince
I couldn’t have done this! Thanks for putting it up!!!
what strength and courage and Love -
She made me cry during this song, last Wed @the Brooklyn Bowl L. V. N. V.... Prince would have been so proud of them. :'(
This is too beautiful
So beautiful
But it just hurts even more when wendy feels it
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing. 🙏❤
I love you Wendy and Lisa. There are no words. The only thing I can do is keep playing. You girls have been my inspiration since 1984. 😜✌🏿🤗😘
Cool one of my favourite songs
Damn. My heart hurts 💔 What a beautiful tribute. Must have been very tough for her to get through this....
i dont care about the whistling and the singing along thanks for filming this it means so much to so many people - to think i will never see him play again is heartbreaking . Give me back the time you can keep the memories
Wendy your a great guitar player and what a ride it must of been for you to make music with Prince, he new talent when he heard it, we all miss him 💔
"Wonderful Prince song"
If that were me I would have just stopped playing and just walked off the stage. Then came back onstage and just stood there not saying a word. Then I would just tell everyone - Since the crowd won't be quiet - The Party Is Over!!!!! We're going home.
Wendy! so beautiful!
I have never cried as much as this :-(
This looked so hard for Lisa. But, how beautiful it was. Thank you for sharing this with us.
cornelia jones that’s Wendy, Lisa plays the keys😍💜
This is hard to watch because you can see and hear the emotions going through them. Beautiful nonetheless
It is emotional to watch. Tears flowed at the end for me. I could see her pain. I have the CD packed away in a storage tubs but I sing this to my daughter PrinceZia almost everyday. She loves this song! WOW Wendy !😍
Tanya Taylor and she is literally singing about Prince. Sigh ..
absolutely beautiful
beautiful. words beyond their time.
Emotionally beautiful.
Yes, I agree. As raw emotion as it gets.
Beautiful, poignant and so hard to watch... I can only imagine how hard it was to perform. Thank you Wendy and Lisa.
Biggest hug for you Lisa and Wendy loved you girls grom the beginning much luv and blessing.
An amazing moment in Music!!
As a kid I loved Prince but when I heard this song I didn't care for it all that much but now that he is no longer with us I get what the song is about. When I watched this video I cried. I felt for Wendy and the everyone else because we will all miss him and this song that I would skip past on my tape player summed up my feeling about our loss so perfectly. Even though he is gone he it still teaching us how to express our feeling. Rest in Peace Sir.
I wish people who let them sing and stop ruining the performance like a bunch of animals!
I mean, I totally get it, however, the majority of the crowd was VERY respectful, and stayed quiet throughout the performance. He was doing this throughout the show. I wanted to hear them, not him!
I completely agree.
It's really hideous of the audience to behave like that.
Sickening.
I saw them live last week and most of the crowd quieted down for this song, but there were people on the edges talking and laughing and being pretty fucking rude. If you paid to see the band, why are you disrespecting them by being noisy during the most emotional & quiet song of their set?
It's bad enough hearing the crowd singing along like they're at a karaoke show - we want to hear Wendy, no one else
Tine McKlein They need to DIE!! 😠😠😠
So moving video. Bravo Wendy and Lisa for this very emotionnal version of Sometimes it snows in April. I can perfectly imagine that it was very tough for them to perform !!
💛 Thank you Lisa Burlington.
You are welcome! Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you for posting this!
My pleasure! It's an honest of an emotion you'll ever see. It had been about 4 months since his passing when they performed this.
Thank you so much for posting this. They are amazing.
Not a problem, and yes, they are amazing!
WoW, an emotional performance of them. I cried with them. Wendy did great! I can Imagine the los of their friend. I am sad he is no longer here and I could never see him perform. I saw Sheila E live and she was Amazing just as The Revolution. Hope they are this amazing in Amsterdam!!
still hard to believe prince isn't here anymore such a beautiful sad song
breathtakingly beautiful
Man, I wish I could have been there
A wonderful guitarist 🎸🤗💜
Pure Love!!!
Great job. Love you guys/gals. R. I.H my dude!!
How Wonderful!
I love you girls 💕
This was so beautiful, almost made me sob, you could tell this performance was hard on the band, losing their greatest friend why did he have to go? 😣
So Lovely Thanks for posting.🌼🌼
You're welcome. It was a VERY emotional show, and you could tell they all were struggling. It certainly added to the intensity of it. It was super tough getting some of the footage, for it the tears flowed throughout the night. Thanks for taking a look!
Lisa Burlington you're welcome!
:-)
Lisa Burlington very hard to watch but Prince enjoyed it and so did we !
Sunny B Yes, and just as hard to capture it. LOVED it though, such RAW emotion, and real love for him. They carried their emotions on their sleeve that night.
That was great!
Beautiful ❣
💜GREAT!!💜 👁 love u 💜
love it so much
Yaaasssss Lisa & Wendy!
Wendy and Lisa wrote this song with Prince. It was recorded on April 21st…31 years later on April 21st Prince died…
"Beautiful"! "Awesome Job"!!!!!!!!!!
😢RIP Prince!! I will always love you!!
just Lovely iv'e been there a few times hardly getting song words out at funerals
Had such a crush on Wendy. Incredible.
just thank u
Moving. Really tough. I can't even get through the whole video. And I haven't shed a tear for months. I can't finish it. But what an annoying few people in that audience. Was it the booze? The pot? Or simply they didn't really, really see Purple Rain, and keep quiet like in the last number in the movie, its as if a rule was established for the future, and beautifully strangely, it came to be, here now with Wendy on stage alone. Respect is shown if you just keep quiet and let the artist let out their pain, what they need to experience and share. A learning lesson for future Revolution shows. Please. Thank U. .::Modernaire
I am certain you sang along just like I did. We all miss him
Dammit, I'm not gonna cry
all good things they say never last :(
moving.....still missing prince : ____ (
Fast approaching a year... Difficult to believe.
We all are!
Wendy u rock but whoever videod this could have stayed quiet......love u Wendy 💜💜💜💜
I recorded it, but it wasn't me singing. lol It was the guy directly behind me.
ah ok...lol...I was like, really ppl...hahaha. ...my bad Lisa but definitely great video u recorded!!!! 💜👍
Yeah, he pretty much sung the entire night. Don't get me wrong, I understand the need to sing, but... I wanted to hear her, not him. lol Thanks, I appreciate that! I wish now I would have gotten more. :-)
I'm not crying. You're crying.
💜
wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can tell Wendy is thinking about Prince when she is singing honestly in the shower I mix up the words and say prince died after a long fought cilvl war love ya Wendy rip Prince still glad I was a fan ever science he died I'm under the age of 11 and love his music to death
💜💜💜❣♾
nice little bit of their song "balloon" at the beginning...
Still can't get through this.
How did she stay composed
Nice... I loved this song... I don’t think Prince wrote a song I didn’t like...
Horrific to hear that man singing and saying "get it girl - you can do it." I'm sorry they didn't respect you Wendy.
This is too painful to watch
The emotions were really thick and heavy that night, but it was still a great experience. Really healing.
Sad.
wish i knew what chords she was playing
The very beginning of this isn't part of SISIA, but from one of their songs called, "Sweet Suite (Beginning At The End)." I am sure you can certainly find the chords online. :-)
Bob M Go to a music store & you can buy the music for the song. 💜
Big ones.
shot two years ago
actually 3 years ago.
......
The disrespectful behavior from the childish people in the background is astounding.
Show some respect for an artist mourning her dear friend.
I agree. It was emotionally difficult for the band, and all of us at First Ave that night. I am surprised that she was even remotely able to play it, let alone sing. That dude was behind me, and was doing this all night long.
This song makes me cry. And it's always the tone deaf people who sing over the live performers!!! So rude.
I am really surprised that she was able to maintain any kind of composure at all, she's obviously holding back that flood of emotions as best she can and as far as the few idiots showing that lack of respect, they are most likely there for the event and NOT the music...imo
Whoever recorded this..........you should have let the band sing the song. You ruined the video. Thank you for your support.
Again, it was I that recorded it, but NOT singing. It was the guy directly behind me. He did it the entire night.
le son est pourrie ! dommage
peuvent pas la fermer ?
Yeah... I wanted to hear the artist, not the fool signing her backup.
That sounds terrible!!!
