I have below a list of all the equipment we use on most our shoots. They are direct links to Amazon, where we bought all the same equipment. These are affiliate links, so if you want to support us, and buy the item off the link, we'll make a little money off of it. Your not charged any extra, and it goes to supporting us, just wanted to make sure you knew ahead of time :) These are all products I stand by 100 percent regardless, and all products we use on a day to day basis. At the end of this list I'll have a link to a blog going into even more depth about the equipment we use.
Camera Equipment I Use:
Canon 5D Mark III (use for all our behind the scene videos):

Devinsupertramp Signature Series Glidecam:

My Favorite Lenses in Order of used most:
Canon 16-35mm F/4 USM
amzn.to/1Xe3KtA
Canon 14mm F/2.8
amzn.to/1UUacqQ
Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 II
amzn.to/1UUaf5X
Canon 24mm F/1.4L II
amzn.to/1UUaj5S
Canon 50mm F/1.2
amzn.to/1Xe3XwT
For all our aerial shots, we use the DJI Inspire 1, with two controllers.
amzn.to/1UUauhl
Our favorite audio mic for on board camera:
Rode Pro Mic
amzn.to/1R8xPMH
We also use B+W circular polarizer. They get rid of the reflections from water, windows, and most plants/green things. We use them whenever the sun is out. When buying a polarizer make sure to get the right size for the lens that you own. I feel if your going to spend the money and buy an expensive lens, it's worth spending the extra money to buy a polarizer of the same quality to match your lens, otherwise your lens won't be as clear. Plan on spending about 130 dollars US for one.
Here's a couple different sizes for common lenses:
77mm.
amzn.to/1UUbjH2
82mm
amzn.to/1UUbnXp
GoPro Hero4 Black Edition. This is the one we use and recommend.
amzn.to/1RIIxno
The GoScope We Use:
go-scope.com/?...
Western Digital 2TB Hard Drives:
amzn.to/255VuBx
Transcend Card Reader:
amzn.to/1WsByD7
Here's the drones I would get in order of my favorite. We use the DJI Inspire 1 for our videos.
DJI Inspire 1
amzn.to/1ow1cuS
-I would get two controllers if possible to have the ability to have someone control the camera as well.
DJI Phantom 4: http:amzn.to/1RY2AEm
3DR Solo:
amzn.to/1RY2DAf
If you have a very small budget and don't have enough to buy a big/medium drone, this is an awesome option to learn how to fly for under $100.00. They have a small camera on them, I would use them not for the camera but strictly to learn how to fly.

please make a detailed video about the RED!
+Rappasta Yes!
hell yes
I second this!
What do you think about saving money on lenses? Using 3.000 dollar Canon glass on a 50.000 dollar camera that will go outdated in a few years, how about spending the big money on some Zeiss Master Prime lenses or Panavision or whatever, and buy a cheaper body like the Red Scarlet or a Canon C300. Most photographers swear by the rule that the lens should cost about the same as the camera body if not more. What do you think?
More in depth tutorial of the RED!
It's funny how you say "button"
Thats what I thought. I am glad I am not the only one who thinks that!
Love all these tutorials, please never stop. Thanks
the way you say button is so funny 😂
Thx Devin for all the free tutorials, highly appreciated.
I would love to see more in depth videos about the RED camera and even about the workflow in RED CINE-X PRO!
Cheers.
Thank you so much, i dont have a camera but just the knowing what you just talk us is a great help.
Thanks for this, Devin. I don't think a simple, succinct explanation of starting up and using a Red camera has existed until now. Please do more!
Also, could you do a video about how you pull focus (with any camera)? I know you pretty much set it and focus with your feet, but maybe an update on that?
Please do a full video about RED!
Thanks Devin. Good basic intro to thr RED. Thank you. Please do more as I see the RED in my future
LOVE RED! Saw the behind the scenes for FF medley and noticed RED immediately! Nice man!
Best description of RED that I've seen/heard. Good job Devin.
I will give u one shiny nickel for it
+isaacmijangos lol
+isaacmijangos Lmao
Man, I felt so awesome when I got to hold his RED on the Glidecam when he came to Dallas.
That camera is too beast
+bakerXderek you should vlog with this :D
I am loving your tutorial videos thank you for producing them!
how do you focus it? does it have af tracking focus?
100%manual
+Chris Y Its got auto focus if you have an EF mount lens
He most likely uses manual focus, but since he's using such a wide angle lens it really doesn't matter. Ultra die lens have a huge depth of field so he doesn't really need to worry about focus as long as he's a certain distance from the subject at all times.
Also since this camera can basically see in the dark he probably shoots at a really high F Stop so that just expands the depth of field even more
+Sergei Dratchev (Heavy Haul TV) Pft! Who used auto focus for video ;)
Thank you. I saw first time such technology and you gave nice information.
Thanks for showing the Red. I know everyone has wanted to see it for a long time. Since it such an important and expensive camera it might deserve several videos. Id say pick one main feature of the Red and do show just that. Maybe how you can color correct something like a backlit scene in post. Keep up the great videos.
Thanks for the overview on the Red! I've wanted one since the Epic & Scarlet first came out and now the Raven! I've never had the opportunity to get my hands on one though.
I'm buying the RED Raven soon and I'm excited to see it in person next week at NAB! A more detailed video on RED would be amazing as there aren't hardly any out there! Thanks for the inspiration Devin!
+mattcarlson12 3 students from my film school just left for NAB!
This was soooo helpful! Thank you so much!
that camera isn´t red
lmao hahaha
Almost cried reading this
+jay j same bro
+Ismail Sarikaya AHAHAHAHA
No it's not. It's RAD.
Casey told me is not the gear that matters... :P
+EduarFilms Depends on who you are but its true, if you dont have a good story then your wasting money on gear. I for one love gear
bla bla bla. His films are not very high quality. This is a serious cam for serious videographers.
EduarFilms
Thank you Devin!! I finally saw a Red for the first time last week when I was renting out an Aaton XTR for a super 16 film project, someone was setting up a Red Dragon by me it was so awesome
This is great, I moved from Canon DSLRs to a Panasonic GH4 and now I'm thinking about renting a RED for upcoming projects. I'd love to hear more about the differences in usabilty/workflow between DSLRs and REDs.
Hey Devin, thanks for the video, it was really interesting. I was just wondering how many gb does the camera use up when shooting in raw 6k per minute? Thanks
Great videos! I'd love to see one about finding/choosing locations to shoot.
Come on Devin. Tell us more about the camera. I'll always loved it❤️
I am sooooooooooooo jealous of your gear man. You truly have the best stuff all around.
Thanks for the video, very informative. Question, once you download your footage to your computer, can you edit on the mac or avid. What are the editing formats for the Red camera.
I would love to see more of this beauty!!
Lols, i love the way he says "button"
We'd love to see more videos on this!
Never has the opportunity to film with it yet but working with the footage is so fun!
Would that go on a DJI Ronin? Ive bought Scarlet-W with GL Optics rebuild Sigma 18 - 35 mm 1,8T Cineman fulll sensor.
Thanks for the helpful information!
Seems a really easy to use camera. Love this product.
Devin awesome videos man. Very helpful. My question is what setup would you recommend for shooting UA-cam vlogs and general videos, mostly in an indoor setting very much like how your shooting these vids. Looking for a great bokeh effect, film look or style videos with window day lighting or LED lights when there is no day light. I really want to give my videos that pro look. Thanks for your help
I can't imagine how big the hard drive must be on your PC! In the following tutorials I'd love to see the specs on the PC. Keep up the great work!
Because the huge media and movie companies using this amazing RED camera don't want to let the secret out of how easily obtainable this technology is becoming! Thanks for the quick intro very cool to see!
RED = Oakley = Luxottica... Man this company is everywhere!!
Haha lenscrafters
RED= Oakley = Luxottica = illuminati confirmed
True my friend!!
Luxottica only owns the glasses section.
The owner sold Oakley to Luxottica.
More videos of the RED please!!
absolutely admire the RED cameras i want one so bad ill have to wait till i have a money making business haha!! Keep the red tutorials coming and more glide cam tutorials please!
Great vid, thanks Devin. We've pre-ordered the Raven and cannot wait for it to arrive!! Also went up to London for a 3 day REDucation workshop, which was really really useful. I think we both did a similar course, but your's might have been a little longer than 3 days and a bit more in-depth into the R3D workflow. You got my vote for more Red tutorial videos :D
+Travizeo, the travel video company I've actually been looking at the Raven as an option for my next upgrade. The Blackmagic URSA Mini is a strong contender as well though.
+The Rolling Shutter A very good contender indeed, but Iv'e had my heart set on joining the R3D family for quite a few years now. After seeing so many beautiful projects, and then doing a little digging to see what camera it was shot on, and more times than not it was Shot On Red. There's just something about their colour science that makes my heart smile :D
Is the LCD screen bright enough for outdoor use?
I have a SmallHD 702 (1000 NITS) and it works decently, so I am wondering if the ones from RED are adequate?
Just a curiosity, which is the size of a raw file with 1min in 6k ?
"Just for the record" said in every Devin Graham tutorial ever made! :P :V
Really good tutorial! :)
I would love to see more RED stuff! Post, post, post! :D
Thanks from Omsk!!! It`s Awesome camera!!! Need more tutorials about RED :-)
I found that really interesting as I have wondered what the deal is with Red cameras. Now I know! Thanks Team Supertramp!
this was such a great video; love learning about this. Does the mic ever pick up the fan when you're shooting?
Thanks david, i love this camera, and now I know more about it, one question, with the canon mount, can you focus automatically and change the iris?
Thank you! Bring on the RED goodness! :D
Never in my lifetime will I be able to use a RED camera but it sure is fun to see one up close like this. Cheers.
What pc system are you using to edit in 6k and handle the rendering times, will you also need to upgrade to handle 8k size raw files in the future when the upgrade is available & installed.
Also what websites do you use to sell your 1080p, 4k & 6k stock footage to help fund your company & finance new projects.
Do a more in depth Version for sure. Crazy camera love to learn more about it !
Yes! More about this!!
I love this new series!!!!!!!!!!!
+Eric Boyd me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
very interested in the red would defiantly watch a full video on it
I've always wanted to know what the deal was with RED cameras. I hear them mentioned a lot, but I could never glean why they were so great from the information I could easily Google. This was informative and easy to understand! Thanks!
Hello from Croatia! :D When you finished the project. Do you save all your material in Raw format? Thanks for answer
thank you Devin! have always wondered about the RED camera. Definitely want to know more about it. Soon the team and I will own our own RED camera!
How to process the Raw rush of this cam for editing ? Difference with a 5Dm3 workflow ?
We Need more on this baby! :D
Shot 2 short films on the RED
Loved it!!
you are from...
Please talk about it in detail! And PLEASE get to the glidecam tutorial already!! :D
Can someone answer this question? I used to film on manual focus with my 18-55mm is STM lens that is silent. I just got a new 17-85mm IS USM lens that makes a very loud noise when focusing. Should I film in manual focus?
Beautiful camera, wish I could afford one. Have been looking around on the site and been thinking about Raven as a start.
A more in-depth video on the RED would be awesome!
What compression do you shoot your videos at? I know sony uses your footage so I guess you’d shoot maybe 3:1 but whats the highest compression you feel you could shoot at for web use and still achieve great quality?
Hi Devin, Would you recommend getting a second hand red dragon? You can get a package for about $20 - 30k
+MulliganBrothers MOTIVATION Look into the Raven or scarlet-w
+Katman1245 Second hand or new?
+MulliganBrothers MOTIVATION the RED Raven is 10k ready to film (without lens)
Soggi20 I was looking on Ebay and theirs a full light weight kit for 10k, with only 100+ hours. My reasoning for going second had is that I will most likely drop this thing.
Get insurance then, the raven is so much lighter and smaller than the epic. I would get the raven over the epic mx, but the epic dragon shoots 6k with interchangeable mounts so that's tons better. Don't know where you can find a non damaged epic-D for 10K tho
What computer do you use that is able to process all of that storage without having lag?
+Zak Kerr He has a fully upgraded macbook pro 15 inch retina which he said costs around $4000 - $5000 :)
How do you manage focus in your videos? You don't seem to have any
form of remote follow focus. Do you just try to keep a wide depth of
field and keep the distance to the talent within range? Thanks! :-)
I'd like the learn generally more about that camera! I'm incredibly interested!
luv your videos!! Hey can you do a video about rolling shutter?
I know both canon DSLRs and Red Cams use CMOS sensors, but what makes the Red cam images less wobbly than DSLRs???
Thanks Devin, insane camera!
can you make a full series of this camera?
Devin, I love your videos and your tutorials. I come from an audio background and am new to the filmmaking world. Could you please do a tutorial on working with RAW data?
Can Tell me the best settings done in red camera to shoot feature (basically low light, best Lut and recording settings)
Please go into more detail Devin it would be great to know more about the camera.
Do you pre focus most shots with small aperture?
dude the whole time I was watching I'm like "please don't drop it, please don't drop it" xD
how much equipment do you need for shopting a video? (drones; cameras; stabilizers...)
What are your thoughts on the Panasonic GH5 with 4:2:2 10 bit 4k?
I would love to hear how you determine your focus , how you do custom white balance and or change it in post , and finally what do the raw files look like ? Is it like shooting on a canon dslr that I can just drag and drop or do is there an extra step involved ?
Red is really good but something i am interested in when filming video do you have in an "auto" mode or what? Or you configure the Iso and F-Stop for each one? aswell as the focus
Btw I thought of you today... I just shot a music video on my RED camera which is one of the DSMC cameras so not carbon fiber. Weighs about 12LBS. I put it on the HD4000 and then needed to add additional weight to the glidecam to support the higher weight on top so I totaled about 20-25lbs that I had to support (no vest)... count your blessings ;)
More, im struggeling to find any detailed tutorials on this cam. Would be very nice to get some information on how to actually use this beast ;)
Cool vid! Ive ordered a RED SCARLET-W ... what do you think of that. I dint know the camera was that heavy.... What lens do you have there?
is it possible to control the settings remotely if you are flying it with a drone?
When you download the footage, where do you store the footage raw footage before editing, and how big is that storage?
what do you use to color grade RED footage and what's your workflow with that camera :)
drooling with envy right now...but good on ya'...keep up the work...we love your vids.
Wow! Maybe one day!
Did you use the Røde mics when filmming?
Devin, why do you use the base expander?
Thanks, very interesting! Which editing Program do you use?
I like the way he says "button" lol
