Thanks for the insight on how you think about recording and mixing. Also what you have been working on recently. I believe I heard you correctly when you said you recorded 2 separate guitar tracks(chords) blended then to create a different sound. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
The chords were recorded on three separate tracks - three separate takes. One right in the center, the other two panned left and right. For some of the chords I play different notes on the three tracks, which gives me chord voicings that would be impossible to play on one guitar alone
@@ScarGuitar Oh OK, THROUGH an ampsim as opposed to parallel with one? I'll have to try that! Also, watched the vid, fantastic as expected (and a fellow Cubase user!).
You're such a lovely man that I almost feel bad saying it but holy HELL WHERE IS SCAR SYMMETRY. Also I feel like I'm on acid again watching this what is going on lol
Don't feel bad! Scar Symmetry have been on a sort of semi-hiatus these past few years due to a global pandemic, Meshuggah, and other things, but we've just signed with a new management and booking agency and are planning the album release and tours right now!
@@ScarGuitar thank you for making my day Per I've been waiting 7 years for a new album and this is amazing news 🤘 also hope you enjoyed your time with Meshuggah, what a gig to pull!
Per has now entered a video resolution in a realm beyond "Unregistered Hypercam 2."

I really want you to walk-through Neohuman!
Grymt Coolt!
That is COOL. COOLED. KHUL
Not even watched it yet but just had to say I love your lead playing, very inspiring. Any tips on SY-1 settings for that synthy lead tone?
I use one of the "lead synth" tones and then run it through an ampsim
