Homemade Toner paint for your MINC
Вставка

- I was watching Anna Griffin second peek preview for the up coming HSN Oct 7th 2015 craft show. She previewed a kit that contained toner paint and toner markers. I had purchased a bottle of toner to use as embossing powder for my stamp images. I then would pass that toner embossed image through the MINC foiling that image. I wanted to see if I could use the same toner with my paper paste gel and create a paint. I love how this came out. I hope you enjoyed this video and thanks for watching.

Thank you this was exactly what I was trying to figure out how to make, my own liquid toner ink 🤩! So happy you shared your diy recipe & results, so helpful ⭐️⭐️⭐️🤩!
Thank you....I can't wait to try this!!! You just made me fall in love with my Minc all over again, this will be cheaper and less wastefull than me printing black sheets of paper with my laser printer!!
Very neat and beautiful foiling! I've never seen the doily punch so that's pretty cool, too. Thanks for sharing.
This is fabulous...thank you so much for sharing this...going to get some toner now...love it...
I just purchased some toner via Amazon.....can't wait to try this!
Wow! You got fantastic results! I've been thinking about trying the toner powder method, but wasn't sure... now I am. Thanks so much for sharing! :)
Drop dead beautiful. Thank you. I am going to get my toner power out and my glue and see what I can come up with.
I found out you can use that toner paint for stamping and foiling!! It works perfectly. It also washes right off the stamps and doesn’t stain them. Make a video about that! You will love it!
You are very clever! Thanks for the tip!
Your a genius! Thank You for sharing 🤗
Same problem with the punch/ Love the foiled doilies! TFS!
I can never get a great result using my printer. Thank you for sharing this idea, I am going to try it.
wow, great!
I saw a UA-cam video where the woman applied texture paste on a stencil , let it dry, and then ran it through the Minc. It worked.
Sooo COOL!! I've been debating on buying the AG MINC, esp because I would prefer to be able to make my own die cuts (so I can make according to whatever card/project I'm working on) and it only comes with few toner sheets, but since watching your video (and I saw one other) where I can create my own toner paint, I think I can finally just go ahead and order it, make my own toner paint and go CRAZY....LOL....Thanks sooo much for sharing and the inspiration. AWESOME vid!! Taylor:)
+Devin Taylor glad you found some good ideas with this video. I think that we can use our paint for our stamps as ink. We wound need to really clean our stamps but it would be worth a try. I am also thinking that we can experiment with an old stamp pad that ran out of ink. We can add our toner paint to the pad and use it with the stamps, just like you use the glue pads. Just some possibilities.....thank you for watching!
Hey, I'm sooo diggin your idea of creating a "Toner Paint Glue Pad".....Very Cool!!
I have the same problem with that punch. i think the magnets are not well synced
TFS !.. U forgot to mention how U made the paper black (method/way U applied the Toner mixture).. How long U leave the paper to dry after the application?.. Thanks!..
Thank you I will have to make some up. michaels here I come. lol
Where did you get the gallon of Elmer art paste, also is it liquid or dry? Thank you in advance. Deloma
That was so cool to watch! Are you still doing this? Has anyone else tried this?
Hi there, I not doing it as much as I was using it before. I have too many new products now. I also am using more my foil quill and the new Cricut foil tool.
Had you tried using just the glue without the paste? Seems to me both, glue and paste, have the same properties. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing, as always great tutorial.
+Naticris Tellavi I think glue would also work. I just have a lot of the art paste and wanted to conserve my white glue for my cold porcelain clay. I have to make more clay. thank you for watching.
Do you have an update on this technique?
Do you have a recipe like with ounces per item ?
Love this idea.......Where do you get the art paste.....Gotta research that....What is it used for.......Thanks for sharing your idea....Once I get the paste.....I'll give this a try.....and let you know how mine works out.....Thanks for the inspiration lady........Love this......
+Chocolate VideoGames Hi there, the art paste is used for paper Mache and for making paper paste paper. What paper paste is creating designs on paper with this paste or Methyl cellulose powder (paste is cheaper) and you add acrylic to make some very thin paint. You then pour a thin layer of this on paper and use tools to make markings on your paper. The paper comes out similar to a gel plate image (so I think it looks like a gel print). You can use just glue that dies white. But since this paste is way cheaper then glue, I get the same result with the paste and add some tablespoons of white glue.

Thank you for sharing this video. Can you tell me were you purchased the toner. I have been trying to find it all over. Thank you again.
+Catherine D hi there, sure the name of the toner was HP 1010/1012 by laser trek, here's the link, www.amazon.com/Toner-Tap-Refill-1010-Canon/dp/B00C32K2GU/ref=sr_1_1?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1445475488&sr=1-1&keywords=toner+powder+hp+1010. it is a powder toner. Be careful and mix it in a well ventilated area or mix small batches at a time. thanks for watching!
That link is dead, but search powder toner on Amazon and you'll find some
Great idea! Did you try maybe adding a little water or something to make it more similar to an ink so you can stamp it? I am trying to figure out a more affordable option to Heidi swapp toner ink. Thanks!
Tas St I think if you put this mixture on a pad, it would work. I will test and upload video. Maybe keep the white packing stuff or deli paper sheets. I can test both. Thank you for watching.
Water will not mix
Where do you get the toner? When I checked amazon just cartridges came up.
Nancy Benefiel search powder toner and you'll find a few!
I made toner paint today with toner that I got from Amazon for $5. I mixed it with PPA glue. I want to know how you painted it on the cardstock. Did you use a paint brush?
BeatlesFanSonia hi there, I used a brush. It levels once it runs through the laminator with the foil.
scrapinmaniac corner thanks
Breathing in toner is very toxic, please don't do this. You can use mod podge, Ranger texture paste, or Decofoil paste and get the exact same results. You don't need toner to get the foil to stick, just an adhesive property that will work with heat.
Which version of Mod Podge?
And... where you use??? 🤷♀️
any chance you can give us the name of the toner , or at least if its a powder or liquid toner ? thanks
+Fats A.Maboud (fat's) Hi there, sure the name of the toner was HP 1010/1012 by laser trek, here's the link, www.amazon.com/Toner-Tap-Refill-1010-Canon/dp/B00C32K2GU/ref=sr_1_1?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1445475488&sr=1-1&keywords=toner+powder+hp+1010. it is a powder toner. Be careful and mix it in a well ventilated area or mix small batches at a time. thanks for watching!
+scrapinmaniac corner thank you so much ,
Loved this idea of making your own toner paint,But I am confused on the amounts of white glue to toner. Then did you use a roller to put it on paper or cardstock. Can you help me with this. I do want to try it. I just ordered the AG minc machine.
+Deanna Tucker hi there, I don't have the exact amount because I was experimenting with my art paste and glue. However, this video has more detail on how to make the paint, ua-cam.com/video/Tq5wkYVol1A/v-deo.html. I used a regular paint brush to put the paint on the card stock . I hope this helps.
+scrapinmaniac corner It sure did...thank you so much...your dollies are gorgeous...can't wait to get my AG Minc. I just ordered toner and the Elmers art paste on Amazon.I think I can get the Elmers glue all here at our walmart. Thanks again for all the info!
Instead of dealing with messy toner, I just printed a solid square on a piece of paper in my printer. Voila! A complete piece of toner paper with no mess
The whole point of this trial video is to see how people WITHOUT a laser printer can foil!!
That's a great punch, but why not just paint a real doily?
+Andrea Friedell You can but then you have a change of getting globs of paint on the edges> but painting a paper and then cutting it out, it makes for better crips edges. thanks for watching!
