    In this video we have discussed the HSP 70 chaperone system which includes the help from co chaperone called the HSP 40. The HSP 70 cannot work alone and needs HSP 40 for the regulation of ATPase activity. The Unfolded protein is recruited by HSP 40 towards the HSP 70 cavity and mediates the folding.

      Seriously Brother , i have never encountered this question yet and it is not in CSIR syllabus which fails the audience here who are waiting for the CSIR and AP biology topics.

    That's not true. The protein folding occurs due to continuous binding and unbinding of Hsp70 + Hsp40 complex with the substrate. The folding does not occur inside the Hsp70. You're thinking of Hsp60 chaperonin.

    Does Hsp40 not dissociate immediately after delivering the substrate polypeptide to Hsp70? and then after it dissociates, ATP hydrolysis occurs?

    Very important question I have. Can heat shock proteins help beta galactosidase disease? This is a lysosomal storage disease.
