Talking as a person who works with those having addiction issues it is huge that she can talk about her having thoughts of using but she has not acted on it. This is a reason why I love grey's because they do mostly show how diseases work accurately.
Link is just about the only man on this show who isn't toxic in any way. Amelia would have NEVER been able to have this convo with Owen. She has come so far and she deserves this life because she never thought she deserved it before. Now she has it and it freaks her out. But she's not the best character in this universe for nothing.
Owen would not have even let her finish her sentences the way Link does. Link's benefit is that he does not have that saviour gene that the other men (read Owen) on the show have that can become toxic behaviour
I think it’s really good that she feels comfortable telling him and it’s good that she lets him know instead of keeping it away from him and he’s so supportive that’s why I love them together
Its also good bc it will help stop her self destructing habits from happening cause shes facing her struggles versus drowning under the struggles of her addiction
An addict sharing their worries of relapse is a comfortable addict. When an addict shuts about their worries of relapse, that’s usually when it happens. Bravo Amelia.
I just really hope they don’t have Amelia relapse which leads to Link turning to Jo which leads to the predictable and overused “longtime besties turned lovers” storyline. Amelia and Link are such a perfect couple and it’s because they are also imperfect but in an adorable and real way that the fans really connect with. Amelia’s relapse storyline on Private Practice was VERY dark, emotionally exhausting but also came full circle and after the horrific trauma she endured as a result of her own actions, it would be infuriating to see her go right back down that road. Link and Amelia are the best couple on Grey’s Anatomy right now. So PLEASE do not mess that up and suddenly have Jo and Link pining for each other. The only time that successfully worked was April and Jackson until the writers decided that Sarah Drew wasn’t worth the money to keep her on because apparently “her story was finished.”
Yess, watching Grey's really help us to see the world widely, it teaches us many lessons. But somehow terrible in showing a love story that could inspire couples.
They've got similar chemistry as Meredith and Alex so I don't think they'll do that. I can see Link and teddy having a thing then being a throuple with koracick more than him and Jo.
i was SO proud of her in this moment. An addict will go and do drugs and not tell someone they are thinking about it. The fact that she has grown so much and link has provided her with this safe space that she felt she can tell him instead of just going and doing it, is such growth.
Link was probably not a good person to share that information with. If they ever break up and there is a custody battle he will use that against her. Everybody who is praising her honesty must have never had a relationship go bad.

The way they film Grey's Anatomy has been so different the past 2 seasons. The HD quality and focus on the characters faces. It's so different and clear...like you are right in front of them.
Yeah, that's the reality of former drug users: they still have those thoughts of using. The best way to combat those thoughts are to share them. I'm glad she found someone she can finally admit those thoughts too.

Because love her or hate her, Izzy was not the instigator here. Alex is a big boy who made his own choices. They are just pissed he didn’t choose the person they wanted him to.
