I still miss the bike (ZZR1100 D1) but something that is never discussed in polite "Biking Circles" at least not the ones I used to move in, is that over time and miles, your gloves, leathers and helmet begin to 'stink'. We toured Europe many times and all that sun and heat resulted in all your gear ending up rather claggy and yuk. However, once worn for an hour or two, you didnt notice any more. Or was it just me. Ahh the memories.....
@@michaelc3977 I think he deserves respect just from how much he's been through. Surviving two car crashes like he did is a feat not only in the short term with injuries and pain, but also long term with the effects that has had on his driving career, reputability and his own psyche.

@@harveytaylor7754 Is it? I stopped watching after the first Chris Evans/Matt LeBlanc episode. As far as I was concerned, That format REALLY didn't work with anyone else. Over the years the show had evolved to fit Hammond, May and Clarkson like exquisitely tailored Savile row suits. No other people COULD wear those suits and expect them to fit as well as they did on the people they were crafted for, And with CE and MLB trying to hold onto the same format it became a baggy ill fitting version of what had come before. I'm sure it's improved since then, But it's unlikely to ever capture the chemistry that made the RH/JM/JC "Top Gear" so watchable again. :( Knowing that the BBC would be aiming their legal team right at the grand tour to make sure their new show didn't look TOO "Top gearish" I'm surprised that they managed to craft a show as good as it's turned out to be.

This is why the three make an amazing team. Locked down and limited to his own courtyard Hammond still manages to entertain and educate us. This seven and a half minutes is more entertaining than an entire episode of Top Gear without these three.
Finally, some good content by one of the trio harking back to the old top gear days. It was never the same with grand tour. What killed me is the silent laughter of his daughter every time he tried moving or starting the bike 😂😂😂😂 Mr. Hamster - you may be a great car show host and entertainer, but you seem to be an even greater Dad 😇

I absolutely love the detail that's been given to make this seem low-rent, the echo of the bad mic in the intro, the gloves buggering off as soon as you let them lose and the talk over the engine noise being completely pointless, the camera "crew" laughing whenever he does something foolish and the wind noise the entire way through the production. Also great that you're getting family involved haha
In the next episode, 2 days later: The Porsche has moved about a foot since it was blocking my way round last time, the Sun Beam is still in the same place as before and there have been no new additions to the collection since then. Tune in next time for more epic adventures.

For years we all thought it was the speed that caused Hammond to wreck. Turns out its just Hammond's natural at home state to wreck things.
