- If you had a massive paycheck, what would you spend your money on? A nice house? An expensive car? A stamp collection? When you have enough money to fully enjoy anything you want, the sky is the limit! Ewan McGregor is one of the most iconic actors in Hollywood, and he has the paycheck to prove it. With a net worth of $50 million dollars, McGregor can definitely splurge on one of his passions; motorcycles! Over the years, he has collected a ton of different motorcycles for his collection. In fact, he has become quite the motorcycle connoisseur, and he loves traveling internationally by motorcycle. He has made headlines all over the world for his traveling adventures and investments for life on the road. McGregor is so passionate about his collection that you’ll rarely see him not on a motorcycle. His collection has a mix of historic and modern motorcycles, and it spreads out between Los Angeles and his home in the Scottish Highlands. What’s especially fascinating about McGregor is that he works on all of his bikes himself. While most celebrities will hire a team of mechanics to maintain their auto and bike collection, McGregor is completely hands on. One can imagine he works on his bikes in between movie and television roles. In this video, we’re going to take a deep dive inside Ewan McGregor’s motorcycle collection. Each bike has its own story to tell, and we’re ready to listen to each fascinating one!

wait so your telling me that my master Obi Wan Kenobi has a secret motorcycle collection
Imagine that. Mind blown!
don’t look at my profile picture, it’s not you in the future turning into a powerful sith lord
Wassup Anakin and Vader!
🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
Yup, looks like your master can ride a speeder bike better than you padawan. .
I like how his collection is what an average man could buy. A real motorcyclist at heart.
Hell yah, the guy has rode more miles than most riders which in itself is pretty cool and shows his love for riding. He's been across every continent on a bike, and only someone that loves riding would do such hauls on a bike but if I had the money he does I would do the exact same thing! Funny, you may see it differently but I don't get the same vibe from Jason Mamoa 😄
Except the live wire and custom Larry chopper. .
Except the first one lol
For a multi-millionaire, Ewan's motorcycle hobby is remarkably down to earth, even affordable for lesser people.
I can't afford being out of a job for 3 months lol
He’s Scottish of course it’s a practical and down to earth collection 👍
Mcgregor doing what any bike fan would do if they had the time and money, props to him.
She said the BMW R1200 is one of the prettiest in Ewan's collection. I'm not sure I agree with that. A 1950's Sunbeam is one the coolest looking motorcycles ever made...in my opinion. The vintage Guzzi's are pretty sweet as well. The BMW is a great bike, but it doesn't compare visually to some of the older stuff he's got.
she's just reading a script and knows nothing about bikes
@@daveyconcrete9801 and the script has a few mistakes. Like a good condition Eldorado for less than 6k 🤣
i think you should look up a royal enfeild classic 350 my friend you will love its looks. Fantastic value for money too.
If you are a rider, you will always make motorcycle sounds whenever you can. Been doing it since I was about 5 still doing it at 58.
One of my favorite actors of all time (such a good obi wan). Hope he’s doing well and all his bikes stay working!
Love that he pays his respects to Indian Larry, RIP 🐐
Fell in love with a V11 painted like a Tenni, bought it and still loving it. Glad to know Ewan has 2 Guzzi V11. I knew he like Guzzi but I thought he only had Eldorado and V85tt
I started watching last week and I instantly subscribed good content
Motorcycle collecting is sooo much more affordable than car collecting. Still adds up, but it's a reasonable dream.
Beautiful Motorcycles!!! A man of culture!
Love your motorcycle collection and bike videos long way up/ down / long way road 🇿🇦
Out of all those bikes they mentioned the Livewires and the 13k miles they travelled on them, but never mentioned the 13k times they had to charge them.
the sound of internal combustion motorcycle edited on top of electric motorcycle video - wow, so innovative!
Drooling over this collection then suddenly I realized I could not see an XT500 ,oh well one day he will get there.
Or a dt 100!
I didn’t know about this guy until I saw the Long Way Down and Long Way Around … both documentaries are gold 🤩
Epic trifecta, actor, road trips, and motorcycles...
As far as Italian bikes, I have owned a ducati 860, moto morini 500 camel, laverda 3cl 1000, cagiva 650, and currently have a 1989 Moto Guzzi Mille GT 1000 and a 2013 Moto Guzzi Stone 750. Have owned several German bikes to include BMW and Zundaps. Grew up with British bikes--meaning Triumph and BSA. Have never been interested in Harley. Owned several Suzuki's to include 2-stroke models and the Wankel rotary 500. The Moto Guzzis have been my favorite above all the rest. Quirky, reliable, tractor-like in that the Japanese "refinement" is not there--but if you love just being connected to machinery and sound--Moto Guzzi!--mike
Moulin Rouge was the greatest arty fluff that was ever produced. On the other hand Train Spotting was an art piece.
Prefered shallow grave myself
Thought both Moulin Rouge and Trainspotting were amazing and shows Ewan’s incredible range as an actor and performer.
Just a note, although Cape Town is a great city, it is not the capital of South Africa. Pretoria is.
South Africa has three capital cities Cape Town (legislative), Pretoria (executive) & Bloemfontein (judicial).
I started off racing on a KTM, and to this day I will never buy another, because of the way they treated this pair that approached them for _the_ epic ride. KTM. RIP.
Ewan should definitely do a meeting with another huge motorcycle enthusiast. Keanu Reeves.
“These are the bikes you’re looking for”
Obi Wan Kenobi: Your motorcycles will make fine addition to my collection.
I want to see a video about ewan leather jacket collection!
I feel fortunate, I have had most of these bikes. Out of Guzzi’s, but have had them. I still have Ducati’s, Rickman’s, Bultaco’s and more. I had choppers and others too.
You're my hero. I really mean it.
Bultaco, BUILT-TO-GO!
7:20 The Bantam was my first bike, except mine was a 1958 model!
3.50 the manager that refused to supply the bikes was shortly FIRED 😄
i think spending a massive paycheck on a house is better than an expensive car. especially if you have to chose between a nice house and an expensive car
My company has worked with him in California on a few ocassions. A nice person & real motorcyclist for sure. But The Machine wasn't an actual Indian Larry Chopper. It was built after Larry's death by Indian Larry Legacy. A company which licenses the Indian Larry name. If it were an authentic Indian Larry it would have been worth 10 times the $25k sale price.
He loves his Guzzi's - he has great taste.
I just like Ewans Face… it’s cools to see his collection too.
RIP Larry, a real OG in the bike game.
Larry was different. His choppers are incredible
He is a real rider adventurer !
McGregor tells a story of his dad at a charity and 50 cc motorcycle he was allowed to ride after the charity event. He said he was quite small, so muchy ounger than this tale.
The BMW's rode great on tarmac, but during "Long Way Around" (or was it "Long Way Down??) the boys were far from happy when they needed to be manhandling the bikes while trying to slog their way through 2' deep mud where a dirt road may or may not have been located in the dry season. One can only pick up a 700+ pound motorcycle so many times before one begins to curse gravity :-o
That's the way I remember it....
I love the BMW GS bikes, but have more fun on my 250cc dualsport.
It's enough trouble picking up the little Honda, I can't get the BMW stood up without help. And it's happened twice!
General Grievous has a lightsaber collection so Obi Wan has a motorbike
Good job, narrator, pronouncing Moto Guzzi correctly. Bravo!
McGregor possibly owns half of motoguzi
You forgot to mention Train Spotting, his best role by far! Everything else just Hollywood Blockbuster stuff, not worthwhile by my opinion!
Awesome!
I can’t stop laughing with your pricing :D
When Obi Wan asks for your bike, you give it to him KTM
Moto Guzzi a legend 😊
He he sorry but the prices you put on the bikes is astronomical… :D
Amazing collection of Motorcycles friends.
This wasn't inside his collection. This was cobbled together through internet searches, not a walk through his garage.
I wouldn’t say that is his most famous role at all
Only thing that surprised me was that he doesn't have a Triumph
Hmm a massive paycheck for me is about $1000
As she speaks of the R1200GS " and one of the prettiest in his collection" wow..one thing ive never heard until now is somebody compliment the GS on its looks hahaaa
awesome
Want a California. Had an 850e. 💜💜
Look for Ewan's newest adventure Long Way Out, in which he and Charlie Boorman ride rocketcycles to the moon and beyond.
1.50 Sorry correction: NOT all on the motorcycles. Some of the route they travelled on a bus.
Ewan is a top bloke and Charley.
He's got a cool collection, but im willing to bet he's got a couple modern rockets also.
EM is a rider!
Every motorcyclist (including Ewan) makes motorbike noises on and off the bike!
I can hear her edits overtime she's giving specs on bikes....and yes I ride a Guzzi
Your prices are way out even if the sum mentioned were pounds sterling they would be wayyyy too low, since a new Harley-davidson street bob 114 is £22,000. These colctors bikes will be double the value quoted. At auction, given the provenance of the machines we are talking 3 to 4 times the values mentioned.
The Machine was not an authentic Indian Larry & it did in fact sell in Vegas @ auction for $25k. I was there
Pretoria is the capital of South Africa (for clarification) otherwise nice vid
Next HAS to be: Long Way Downunder
Where is the XR650L seen at the beginning of Long Way Up that he CLEARLY was planning to ride w Charlie before Harley came into the picture! No support van = take something lighter, 3rd world ready and dead reliable.
It is awesome to be a celeberty
grand fella with a rather impressive knob.
Ewan McDonald made fortune on acting ,
Everything is now possible.
And yet, no Black Hornet…
to finance these fancy motorcycles he must be owner of some moped brand in asia
Probably a cool dude, this kenobi guy.
He bought the 2000 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport with his own money. From me.
FACTS!
I could tell you guys aren't motorcyclist when you said his BMW GS1250 is one of the prettiest bikes he owns. LOL
I wish I had one of them old motto guzzi california bikes. Cannot afford them.
Cape Town is the capital of South Africa! Apparently!
You guys have to watch LONG WAY ROUND if you haven’t seen it.
You are waaay off with the value of the '74 Eldo police bike. Fully restored bikes with the proper bags and friction siren are bringing upwards of $20K. $5800 is about the price for a rider Ambo or drum brake Eldo.
its a sin that he, norman reedus and Keanu never did a bike show together. Like come on they are the three biggest moto "nerds" that are all successful actors and nobody thought of making a show with all three of them ?
Hi
I really want a BWM motorcycle
This woman knows jack shit about motorcycles.
Love my Moto Guzzi
"In his Indian chopper"? you mean on!
So you're using available footage and telling a story around that. No interview with McGregor or tour of his collection. The word "lame" springs to mind
Hello there!
Moto Guzzi is no way the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in Europe. Moto Guzzi - 1921. Triumph - 1902.
Like the video stated "the oldest manufacturer with continuous production in Europe". Triumph Engineering (1902 -1983) sadly went bankrupt on 23 augustus 1983. It got revived as Triumph Motorcycles Ltd though so that is why lets say "the counter" reset.
I love motorcycles but it was hard to put up with this narration style which seems to be all about money
Only 50 million. Thought he’d be worth a lot more than that. Sweet collection of bike tho
when non- motorcycle folks make a motorcycle vid...
Poor McGregor, he doesn’t own Daddy Motorcycle Royal Enfield
Some good posts and some not. As long as you are riding what you like, who gives a toss what others think. I think we should be grateful that celebrities are willing to show us their collections. As the man said himself in Trainspotting " the whole nation will be a load of wankers "
The valuations on his bikes are so far out. He also doesnt own the "long way round" BMW as BMW want that bike for their museum
This vid is produced by a celebrity channel. I'm not even sure they googled the bikes. They may have just made up the numbers based on phone numbers on scraps of paper in their collective purses.
No he doesn’t! I was actually at California Superbike school with him! He let the motorcycle 🏍 make all the Noise 🤣
I love my Moto Guzzis!
Who is evan McGregor ?
😊💕👍
Wow... This did absolutely nothing for me and my crappy life, but I guess I can sleep easy knowing some guy I don't know has a sweet motorcycle collection. I'll think about that while working in my minimum wage hell hole. 👍
He's a national treasure.
Think they have their valuations of his bikes a little low
Moto Guzzi the oldest European motorcycle manufacturer still in production? 😳
Are you kidding? 🤔
Moto Guzzi is one of my favourite brand, but they started 1921. At that time Husqvarna had been running their motorcycle production 18 years!
Starting 1903 Husqvarna is the oldest motorcycle manufacturer still in production not only in Europe but in the world. Harley Davidson comes in as second with their start 1904.
Royal Enfield have recently tried to establish the idea that they are the oldest continuously in production, but the truth is that the went bankrupt in 1967 and even if the had licensed production to the indian company Madras Motor Company for the old model Bullit (like BMW licensed production of old models to russia - Dnepr/Ural - which does NOT make Dnepr/Ural being BMW) since 1949, the indian company was renamed Enfield India after 1955 because they were NOT Royal Enfield, according to Royal Enfield in England. And they were not allowed for many, many years to use the name Royal Enfield.
Later, much later, Enfield India however bought the name Royal Enfield, but it is a new company with a history of first being a licensee to Royal Enfield and then buying the name. So - not in continuous production!
In short - the oldest company that has been in continuous production is Husqvarna, fallowed by Harley Davidson. Brands like Norton, Triumph, Royal Enfield and Indian are older but hasn’t been in continuous production.
Harley Davidsson today claims a starting year of 1903 (like Husqvarna) but that is a modern claim. They celebrated their 50 year anniversary in 1954, not 1953.
Husqvarna by the way started in 1689, but at that time they had not yet started to produce motorcycles.
Beat me to it. Still, impressive collection.
Harley Davidson claims 1903 because that was first year they finished building their first prototype bike which was a failure because it could barely power itself on flat ground but they actually started work on that in 1901, the 1904 model was their first working prototype. I hope that clears up some of the confusion. I really dig all the other information I learned from your post tho!
