Considering how quickly the players experience what seem to be life-threatening migraines whenever they try to not choose (disobeying the game's code), I don't think they have enough time during the game to overload it. And considering the game has the ability to start a round early shown in Round 4, trying to "cheat" in any way the game considers "cheating" results in an early round. Also Round 2 shows that what people are in the room with you is not relevant as it can affect people from miles away.
Ya people like this think that looking back they would have all the answers. In the heat of the moment in a death game that would NOT happen. It’s just arrogance
Level 2 showed that the game arena is not dependent upon where you physically play or who is involved. That coupled with the lack of themes between levels means that no amount of preparation will have you ready or let you know who will be included.

@@AllyOJustice Like Bandersnatch! This show would've been perfect if it was made like Bandersnatch. The storyline is great, but making it interactive would've made it perfect
He wouldn't do that well tbh,he made these videoes after careful analysis, unlike in the movies, where they are suddenly being forced to play the game with no time to gather info and also panicked
To be honest the ending of the movie was kind of anticlimactic. Like, the boss fight could have been done so much better, I mean I get the symbolism of her drowning but still. Also, her wanting to punish other people seemed kind of out of character. Wish she would have taken a step into trying to destroy all copies of the game. Perhaps if the movie does well enough a sequel will be in order.
The idea was fantastic, the execution not so much. Especially the ending felt so wrong and as you said completely out of character. Like, the game killed her only friend and yet she still is immediately on board? Come on…
I think its the disconnect. She goes through this huge journey of personal conflict and the final boss is just... some dude. A dude who hurt his own family and is attacking you. And has a wife who's willing to kill him for you. That's not really even a moral conflict.
I honestly liked the ending just because so many movies set up this “Be the bigger person and destroy the game” idea despite how if someone was given the powers of the game, a lot of people wouldn’t care about the morals. They set her up to be someone with an unfortunate upbringing, and a situation where she desperately needs power. She needs money, she needs to help her mom, get out of that city, etc. To me, those endings where people suddenly get this high moral standing can get boring just because not everyone would take that path. Kayla is someone who needed the power, and the rewards from the suffering of “those who deserve it” it works out for her, she gets money, she gets to help her mom. Everything so far is good for her, but destroying the game would put her right back in the same situation as when she started, with no benefit. For her, destroying the game just makes everything she did before pointless. Her friend has died, she still has no money, they’ll be in debt from the destroyed apartment, it gives her suffering no break. But by accepting it and playing it her way, she actually has benefits (in her own eyes). So in her view, what would be the point of destroying the copies? Because she gains nothing from destroying it and everything from keeping it herself.
In the third level, the second prompt acrually says "save Ricky??" With two question marks, meaning that the second body was "Ricky?", as if stating that it's not really his brother
@@Mother.Confessor The question was “Save Isaac? Save Ricky??” Save Isaac, with one question mark, means saving her friend Isaac. The one question mark is a question Save Ricky, with TWO question marks (the first question mark indicates the game assumes it’s Ricky, but is not sure if it’s actual him) means saving what may or may not be her brother Ricky. One question mark would be a question, but two means the first question mark is questioning if Ricky is real and the second question mark is questioning if she wants to save him.

14:37 We don't know how powerful this game is. Sure, when it goes off script and has an npc intervene it's glitchy, that's not to say it's certain it can't just have a simple command like "kill player" "stop player" overwhelm us or if it can't, it'll impose that screech until your brain melts/CHOOSE OR DIE gameover. I'd limit the items/people, but still have some people/items so it can create it's challenge (if it has like nothing to pick it may just make YOU the target instead of a bystander). KEEP IN MIND THIS GAME CAN LITERALLY SPAWN DOORS, BEER, LIVING MONSTER RATS/LONG DEAD FAMILY MEMBERS, TELEPORTS, . 14:50 Tasers can be lethal and if an npc uses it against you can simply stomp you dead when you're unresponsive. The game is clever. I feel like bringing tools to assist yourself/cheat will be known and incur penalties/punishments or make the game more difficult. For the rabbit level, I think the friend was being controlled by the game once he "chose" to help, and if they had chose for him to not help, he wouldn't have followed her, and the girl would have to face a different challenge
3:29 It could be that the game saves the files as "human_ear" and "printed_by_user_paper_ear" and all, 22:33 it could be that if you twist it and keep the round thing at low that the friend gets slowly killed making it more painful for him, 23:24 What if the friend also gets distorted and I dont think that there will really be any magnets around but i'm probably wrong
oh interesting note on the tape! i thought it was implied he died because the speed tore up his insides by how fast they were going, but maybe doing it slow wouldve still yielded the same results.
might be a bit over the top, but you could make an electro magnet. find a wire, wrap it around an iron core, plug it into a source of electricty and tadaaaa...electromagnet. Shouldnt be too hard to find those things in an abandoned building.
I wonder what would've happened if she chose rewind. Also for the magnet thing, the safest route would've been to try it beside, and not on, the friend. You either get a portal or distortion, friend un/minimally harmed. Though by the time she'd make a magnet the game would've probably CHOOSE-OR-DIE 'd her. Good points tho.

This guy's intelligence and research skills are unmatched. I don't think ppl realize you have to have a high level of base knowledge to even know where to look for these answers. It's impressive Now I will say I don't agree that playing the game near ppl you don't like will change the game going after the ppl you love. For example, she was at work with her asshole boss and the game went after her ill mother. If it was about proximity it would have gone for the boss.
agreed, but that'd be trial and error I guess. " i'll try staying with my jerk ex to see if" ..., then game turns against your brother at home and then you find out it doesn't works like that.

As for the pool level with the fog I would grab my hoodie or shirt and spin it to find anything and use it as to suffocate any threat as it mostly used to suffocate or blind the enemy.
25:11 Cinema must have been running out of time to wrap up this video, because she didn't actually fall into the pool when she got shot. Instead what actually happen is that the gun was wrestled out of the lady's hand by her family, the girl went to this modern art statue and dragged it to the pool. The man tried to shoot himself, but the gun was out of ammo, and so he took out the kitchen knife from earlier. And went to slit his own throat. And thanks to the damage reflect thing going on, the MC started to bleed out, but had already managed to reach the water's edge and fell in while holding the statue. It then became a race between her and the man on who would die first. Eventually it seemed like they both died only for the MC to twitched her fingers. Then we got to a jump cut to her standing outside of the pool bandaged up and the lady promising her that they will hide everything that involved her. ...okay considering I tried to condense that climax to as little info as possible, I can see why Cinema decided to cut it out entirely to save some time.
I get saving time but like....don't lie to me? CS could've said sth to the effect of "The fight becomes a tight race between who can die slower as [MC] tries to drown herself and [boss] slits his throat."
I was going through the comments to see if someone had already commented on this and thankfully yes! I didn’t like how he very much inaccurately told the ending as the actual ending had more meaning to it then her just being pushed back by getting shot, but I could tell that he was rushing to end the video.
One thing that might work is to try and input two different answers (Ex. His tongue and her ears). The game is designed for one answer to be registered but potentially putting in two answers might be enough to crash it or confuse the curse. The curse much like the game runs on a simple 1 or 0 either a decision is made or no decision is made, but if two decisions are made at the same time it might be enough to render the curse inert.
Ok I gotta say it. That's not how the final conflict went. The wife's shot didnt knock her into the pool. The dad and son get the gun back, shot the dad in the stomach (so she was shot), and when he goes to headshot himself, the gun is out of bullets. He grabs the knife instead, but meanwhile she cleverly grabs a heavy statue, puts it on top of herself, and jumps in the water. The dad slits his own throat (so she's dying), but she drowns him. So it was technically a double K.O. but somehow she won? Idk, wasnt super important as they reached the same ending shown in the summary, but tis how it went down, and flexed her intelligence at the end. Not sure how SHE won when her throat was slit first, but hey, whatevs. Good summary as always!!
This bugged me too LOL My take on the ending was that I don't think he slit his throat deep enough to kill her that quickly. So she drowned faster than she bled out and since he died first, her injuries were healed and she won.
@@principessa3x I like this theory. Especially since when you think about it, all things being normal, we naturally have a self-preservation instinct. I could see how the idea/action made perfect sense for him to win, but maybe that "instinct" prevented him from cutting deep enough??
I think you’re making a few assumptions at the beginning. The game already established a model of the world, so adding new information to the world probably won’t affect the existing choice. It already said “His tongue” or “Her ears,” so I think the game already knows what body parts that we’re dealing with here.
Good video as always but as a software developer, your initial "solutions" isn't how "old tech" and crashing a "code" works but still entertaining as always
Also a software developer and came to say the same lol. I really like the channel but that was a little grating. Edit: lol at the code in the movie. Jesus. Could've at least picked something a bit more obfuscated
@@missnanunana01 well every code can crash in reality but unless it's made by a godlike coder and in this case black magic, unless you have a very creative mind then you can't. For the code in the movie itself, the way he wants to crash the game is by inputting multiple data since he said it was "slow" was wrong why? Because it was shown to have little to no delay on the input of the boy's words at level 2 and the output on the computer screen itself in which beats out the processing speed of the majority of the tech nowadays and how it can instantly create a beer out of nowhere practically says it defy realism and the processing speed is insanely fast. Also it's magic you cannot really explain how to crash a magically enhanced game
That's kind of most of these videos, isn't it? A know-it-all who if you actually followed their advice wouldn't allow you to beat it. In most cases the writer here seems to give people special powers and abilities to foresee conclusions when the characters wouldn't have the same view as the movie watcher. So while it's a fun premise in most of these videos if you followed the creator's advice you would have to either be god. Or just continually get lucky by guessing at things before you actually have the information at hand. 15:47 That's an example of having to have extra information. "sometimes things we can't see" Without some special ability things we can't see are almost always not helpful. Unless you have hindsight. Or multiple hours to practice techniques to break code by using glitches. On first play you can only get lucky. Or you risk violating the games rules or having time expire.
@@darktheories1758 sometimes. I give the guy a lot of credit for putting some of these things together and it's obviously entertaining to watch, but yeah, trying to crash a magic computer program with the ability to create matter based on the principles of finite memory.... lol doesn't seem like a viable solution.
I'm currently in the middle of replaying Until Dawn for the plat. I haven't played it in years, hoping to forget as much as possible about the story. I forgot absolutely nothing because this game is that good 😂
Yooo :D Me and a friend((Who introduced me to the game)) just finished watching the entire crankgameplays playthrough. Glad to see someone also got reminded of it lmao
Honestly movies like this aggravate the hell out of me, the amount of bad decisions astounds me. But Kayla got off fairly easy; hell she even gets powers to use in the end and from what I understand, she'll get to keep them. Edit: I mean the friend more than anyone else. Following after Kayla despite knowing the risks, and especially jumping into that pool. Kayla as well for jumping into that pool, if she knows her brother is dead than clearly hearing his voice calling to you is a trap made by the game.
There is not really any “good decision” to make. The game will create suffering, thats it. Any “decision” will create pain. It doesnt matter where you are, it doesnt matter how many people are around you, it doesnt matter what do you have around. At the end we see, the guy cursing you can control you to kill you on the spot. He is just playing with you, you only have a chance if the guy cursing you WANTS to give you a chance.
I think you got the wrong video? Even CS's plans were just to _attempt_ to minimize suffering. This is one of the rare movies where there isn't much one can do. Imagine if, like the vast majority of people on earth, the main character wasn't as familiar with code?
One thing that should be mentioned. Although it seems smart to be around strangers, the game proved with level 2 that location in accordance to the girl doesn't matter.
19:16 Interesting, the Russian Cyrillic alphabet also has an extra letter that is called a soft sign (ь), it's used to palate the word to have a soft sound in it. There are also 33 letters in total which outnumbers the the English alphabet by 7 more. 19:33 which reminds me that the (щ) sound is a combination of the s-h (ш in Russian) and the CH sound (ч in Russian).
I've watched enough Szeth videos to know the least probable part about this movie is that the game ran without having to be run in compatibility mod or possibly even a rigged old laptop.

(SPOILER WARNING: PROCEED WITH CAUTION) Choose or Die, sounds a lot like Creepypasta meets Black Mirror Bandersnatch with a dash of Jumanji. Having watched this film myself just a day or two ago, I was hooked. But frankly, the Creepypasta vibes fit more for this movie because it reminds of cursed video game stories like Sonic.EXE, Ben Drowned, or even something like Toter's Maze. But what makes me concerned is that it has enough strength to bend reality to it's ungodly programming....not to mention Robert Englund, aka Freddy Krueger of NOES fame, is voicing the options presented on the screen. And Jumanji vibes due to the fact there is a GIANT RAT HUNTING A MOTHER IN HER APARTMENT! If I was forced to try to survive this game, I would be focused on the options and gauge which one is the lesser of two evils or more. It won't mean the victim's won't walk away from broken spirits, bodies or minds. But, at least you can know that you are trying your damnedest to spare a life rather than take it. But.....it may kill them regardless. But still, mind your options and be wary of the consequences that *will* come from it.
I was actually watching this on Netflix and I thought to myself “that one guy who solves horror movies should make a video about this” seeing it on my notifications was a delight.
Its pretty funny, I've been binging this so hard that the narration appears in my dreams. It's kind of cool because now the dreams never run out of control
You keep saying to try and overload the game's hardware, but it's hardware is limited by what it's running on, not the game itself. Though it is also very possible the game is not taking advantage of the hardware it's on because it's software doesn't know how to access resources made so long after it was. Reguardless, if it can already warp reality in real time than the power if it's hardware is probably not it's limition even if it's actions sometimes look glichy.
Just watched this movie and I was surprised at how good it was. Other than when the girl went back home to check on the giant rat and the only weapon she had was a broken bottle. I was screaming at the TV, "What?! That's the best you can find!? Isn't there a knife in that kitchen you passed?!"
with him breaking the entire movie down like this, you stop to realize the attention to detail they put into the coding and the computer mechanics, its amazing
16:26 Speaking of what you mentioned earlier about having more options than the ones infront of you there's a door behind them which they could still use
They should've made this an interactive movie, where you're in control of Kayla's choices. And all choices matter, with different outcomes or challenges based on previous choices.
Is it just me or Cinema Summary's videos these days just summarize to "Have supernatural abilities".

Level 2 showed that the game arena is not dependent upon where you physically play or who is involved. That coupled with the lack of themes between levels means that no amount of preparation will have you ready or let you know who will be included.

Come on…
I think she was talking about the creator just with different words, but the line made this unclear
I think she could had used the game's power on the creator of the game
This started with a surreal computer game impacting reality and turning it into a death game, and ended with Light Yagami time. This is great!

Good catch! Makes it much creepier
Huh? I don't get it
@@Mother.Confessor The question was “Save Isaac? Save Ricky??”
Save Isaac, with one question mark, means saving her friend Isaac. The one question mark is a question
Save Ricky, with TWO question marks (the first question mark indicates the game assumes it’s Ricky, but is not sure if it’s actual him) means saving what may or may not be her brother Ricky.

For the rabbit level, I think the friend was being controlled by the game once he "chose" to help, and if they had chose for him to not help, he wouldn't have followed her, and the girl would have to face a different challenge
thats actually pretty smart dude
The different challenge could be worse stupid.
Was thinking the same about the tape. Really a moderate speed is best for maximizing chance of survival and minimizing suffering.
Yeah I’m not gonna even try understanding u guys, but very smart of u
I wonder what would've happened if she chose rewind. Also for the magnet thing, the safest route would've been to try it beside, and not on, the friend. You either get a portal or distortion, friend un/minimally harmed. Though by the time she'd make a magnet the game would've probably CHOOSE-OR-DIE 'd her. Good points tho.

Re
The amount of research done for these videos never ceases to amaze me
One thing that might work is to try and input two different answers (Ex.
Well maybe not test it on that one lol😂
I love how he explains what to do while also teaching us stuff!
It's the bowsercide. A double kill but the game gives the win to whoever died second.

Edit: lol at the code in the movie. Jesus. Could've at least picked something a bit more obfuscated
Curious, do you think crashing the Code of a software that old would be possible?

But frankly, the Creepypasta vibes fit more for this movie because it reminds of cursed video game stories like Sonic.EXE, Ben Drowned, or even something like Toter's Maze.
But what makes me concerned is that it has enough strength to bend reality to it's ungodly programming....not to mention Robert Englund, aka Freddy Krueger of NOES fame, is voicing the options presented on the screen. And Jumanji vibes due to the fact there is a GIANT RAT HUNTING A MOTHER IN HER APARTMENT!

You keep saying to try and overload the game's hardware, but it's hardware is limited by what it's running on, not the game itself. Though it is also very possible the game is not taking advantage of the hardware it's on because it's software doesn't know how to access resources made so long after it was. "Dooming every single karen on the planet" *hell yeah let me get my hands on this game! RETRIBUTION FOR KARENS*
You expect a game that can literally control reality to have glitches?
Is it just me or Cinema Summary's videos these days just summarize to "Have supernatural abilities". The moment you said "glitching" to get ahead, I can only think of the almighty Sonic Boom.
