A lot of people are missing the fact that he does say the characters in this movie wouldn't know this outside information. But if someone kidnapped you, you would be able to use this outside knowledge to escape.
Honestly I think it could be explained by the building being old and how they mentioned the place is falling apart so it would essentially be easy to take off the screws.
“If you’ve lived your entire life here, you’d be asking why there are no windows……” If they have lived there entire life with no window how would they know what a window is.
The resemblance to The Promised Neverland is crazy, Brainwashed and told the outside is dangerous Trained in a school like place High security Raised from very young ages along with having a teacher acting like a “mother” like in TPN Being sold off as products The idea to burn the building when trying to escape (which does actually happen in the promised neverland) I know this movie isn’t a rip off of the anime or vice-versa, but it’s still pretty interesting seeing all the similarities

Anyone that liked this movie should watch the Promised Neverland, It has a lot of the same concepts and a similar vibe but the execution is even better imo.
They could try to start a fire earlier on in as they would have to be moved out of the floor they're on possibly giving them a chance to witness more of the layout of the building. They got really lucky that the door immediately led them to a stairway that took them out of the building. If the doors can be unscrewed then I'm sure they could also find things to use to unscrew the doors as well and they can look over the building that way while they're supposed to be asleep.

The teeth issue was a bit wrong, a strongly controlled diet that removes all of the things that cause tooth decay would remove the need for tooth brushes. It would also reduce or eliminate acne which is another reason they'd do it as this place turns out to be a skin farm. Although I wish people would stop saying UV rays are very dangerous. Without sunlight we become malnourished and depressed.
How I imagined I’d beat the situation is once I found out they wanted my face, I’d instruct others to give them selves facial cuts and lead by example to encourage the other orphans to follow through on something theyve probably never considered or atleast be prepared to. I’d use my skin as a bargaining chip especially if I knew the specific value, if it was low, well the plan is bumpkis, but if my value were high, you could force the guards to not touch you and the staff to not touch you by threatening with action that you will ruin the value of their merchandise in full, your face and the other kids faces, if a guard comes after you, you could always start trying to i jute yourself on everything, they’ll try harder to stop you from hurting yourself than they would try to stop you from escaping. Because escape is impossible in the minds of the guards, but the prospect of the merchandise being damaged or even completely destroyed is an ever present threat. Even if they catch you, your value will end up being 0 if your face is jacked up, and as we noticed from the movie, the doctor once the skin he wanted was damaged was killed, but not the children, as without their faces they have no value. And even at most, you need a few deep knicks, not even a full cut, but a cut that will for sure leave scars would probably be enough to diminish the value greatly without a risk to yourself
I LOVE this movie, and was really happy to see you go over it, but ngl, when you were going over how they should realize something is wrong, it kinda made no sense, because they literally don't know anything, not about the real world, or what's supposed to be normal, so they can't really tell if something is wrong, not having a toothbrush wouldn't seem weird, because they don't know what it is, or not having windows, THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE.

It always bugs me when a story has people have never experienced normal life realizing that what they're experiencing isn't normal, without prompting.
Like in the Truman show, why did he find it weird that his wife talked like a commercial about products? That's been his whole life, it's weird that HE doesn't do that.
"If you'd lived your entire life here, you'd definitely be asking why there are no windows." Why? Every building you've ever seen has no windows. You may not even know what a window IS. That IS reality for you.
Fuck it, they could have just taught these kids how wonderful it is to have your face cut off. They wouldn't know any better.
yes! Why would they even lie to them about the adoption and the vitamins. They have to, because the viewers can't know what's going on at that point.
I feel like Truman show there’s enough weird aspects that would build up over time that he would start to question some stuff, but I agree it’s weird when characters suddenly realize that their experience isn’t normal
this was a problem i had when i was watching promised neverland, why do they tell them scary stuff like child trafficking but not the monsters ? like wouldn't the children be fine with the monsters if they lived with them since birth ? but i guess the protagonists would have zero chances of escape unless someone else helps them that way

I doubt that these kids know anything about the outside world, so assuming they'd know all about laws and where they are or how basically anything at all works.

After realising the whole point is selling faces, just cut everyone's faces.
"Its beautiful, but soon they'll realize that they'll have to pay their own rent"
That was the best ending i could have ever imagined
