Great job separating, I know combing out my locs were back I couldn't imagine having to separate the locs that I had Let's not even touch the subject of how sensitive your scalp is after you do something like that
I just combed out my free forms that I had for about a 2 months and it probably hurt as much as taking out braids, I never maintained or separated throughout my short journey just washed with shampoo and my hair locked up super quick especially in the back
Could you please give a fully in depth video (30mins) on how you exactly got your dreads to look like this, sectioning, dread amount, how to grow so fast etc. i am going to cut my 4 year long dreads to restart and get these but I need to know exactly how you did so? Thanks ( 4 year subscriber )
So legitimate question, separating like this doesn't cause breakage or damage to the hair? With the sound I have no idea how it's not but just curious 🤟🏼
Are ur dreads really skinny cus I have the same hair texture and want to restart my dreads with a full head but I don’t want them to be super skinny but I want a lot of dreads
I disagree on roots locking because they are not mature enough, fact is you will always have to separate your locks, because hair falls, break and grows, there will always be a chance that strands will cross on other sections. thus separating. you can actually avoid all this breakage by doing it regularly.
Please please please answer my question! I'm almost 6 months in (I think the budding phase) and I have 1 or 2 dreadlocks that are really loose (not thin) at the root and 5 or 6 looks at the front that are struggling to blunt their ends. Even though I'm not worried about any of them separating, should I use a crotch hook to tighten the roots and blunt my ends or am I too far into the dreadlock journey to use that tool? Do people with mature locs even use the crotch hook anymore? Is it only for starter locs?
Yo I have a question I’m thinking of doing dreadlocks in the future I have a 2c hair type and would I be able to do instant dreadlocks? Or what way would be the best
Crochet hooking would be your best bet if you want instant mature dreadlocks but if you want something more natural than use twist and rip. freeform is optional but be aware that it might take 1.5 years or even longer depending on how much you wash your hair.
Question, I have mildly thicker (crochetted) dreads now but its more like a high top of dreads.. im wanting a longer undercut and skinner dreads. im currently growing out most of my hair in hopes of cutting my dreads (which now come to my shoulders) re sectioning for skinner dreads when my regular hair is long enough.. Is this the best plan of attack?
Crocheted, and shoulder length? Depending on how long you've had them, if they're mature, this would be impossible. This works for Gunther because his hair isn't mature at all right now, and this would typically only work on the new growth of mature locks. You will most likely have to comb them out first, and then, re-crochet or retwist them into smaller locs
tbh idk a lot, but i do know if your hair begins to thin the best thing might be to leave it alone and let it grow back. of course do your daily hair mist if you do that, or apply any oils you may have. you could also combine them, it's just a hit or miss on wether or not your hair can take the extra weight on the thinning loc. at the end of the day you know your hair best, so try out some things that you think might work!
mane i just got a retwist after 5 months. that’s le longest i went, mane that seperation made me want to cut them off right there my legs was shaking how bad that shidd hurted
Exactly. I’ve had my locs for 2 years now. It ain’t that hard to get em, and it ain’t that hard to maintain. Wash your hair thoroughly when needed or before a retwist, wear a Dewey at night, and keep your hair healthy, don’t let your locs be bone dry. I usually use the Cantu oil sheen spray. All in all, it’s not rocket science. I know this channel is a hair channel, but when you repeat yourself, it seems as if you believe we are uneducated and can’t put 2 and 2 together from the other 10 vids saying the same thing.
Can hear the pain
I just did this yesterday and I have just as many locs as you. I find separating my locs very satisfying…lol.
Bro went crazy with the sound effects

It'll take awhile, but it'll fill up and round out in the next year. just gonna be a skinny loc

Omg Gunther your hair grows so fast 🤗 I'm going to do it! Thank you for the motivation with my locs💃

it can, but to prevent it be very catuious and do it slowly
Its ok as long as its a one time thing, but you shouldnt be having to do this all the time
I have 3c hair and around 250 locs semi freeform, started with a two strand twist out
Are ur dreads really skinny cus I have the same hair texture and want to restart my dreads with a full head but I don’t want them to be super skinny but I want a lot of dreads

Best way to get dreads is leave twisting twist and do it every time your dreads lock up faster but you need Jamaican lime it works
