I have to politely disagree. He seems like a nice guy but he almost ruined a fantastic sketch. I don’t blame him at all but for SNL not choosing hosts based on their acting or comedy abilities.

His deadpanning is the best. He may not be a natural actor, but he is naturally funny. I would much rather watch a Charles Barkley SNL sketch than one featuring, say, Jonah Hill.

I really like that they included "his mental stability is not your concern" and "you're worth something" and etc. It's a comedy show but things like that are important.

"Responsibity" is a much better word than "concern" and thankfully what they used. You probably should be concerned, but you don't have any responsibility over someone you have no connection to. Also like that immediately when he brought it up the host said "we can provide mental health assistance"
@@vullord666 Ultimately it's a hard truth that we can't be truly responsible for anyone's mental stability, no matter how close. Of course you can try to help, show concern, care, love... But ultimately you can't take that responsibility for someone else, it's not healthy or even possible to fix someone else's issues for them. If you've ever loved someone struggling with addiction you'll know this all too well.

I love how Charles comes on to any of the episodes, and you can immediately tell he loves what he's doing on the show. I literally think he just fanboy's hard and anytime he calls Loren he lets him come on. which I'm okay with, a lot of people say that he bombs in the sketches but I think that's part of his charm and I think it works really well in the sketches because they write them so that he can come off as he does.
We all gotta accept that Kenan and Bill are the best game show host.

My guess is that they originally had a darker ending, but had to change it to satisfy network audience
Gawd, people over thinking it. Bat is on point, it just needed to end, had varying endings from idea to dress rehearsal and likely needed to be shorter.

Jennifer Gooley how ridiculous and shallow shows can be .... not caring how the people really feel. In general ignoring signs of depression and passing it off as nothing more. Not wanting broken people but those who look good but sometimes have obviously horrible personalities. Not caring if someone will go for great lengths for you.... People who are shallow and just want to “win” ..... ya know stuff like that :)

Charles Barkley is definitely one of the best SNL hosts. Just flat and natural.
In an environment like a live Saturday Night Live skit on national television, you don't have to be a natural 'thespian' to make it entertaining.You just have to be able to sustain yourself in a public environment, which someone like Chuck is obviously used to, and have good comedic timing. That is what makes this skit so hilarious.
