This movie is a full warpless run-through by HappyLee (tasvideos.org/HappyLee.html) and Mars608.
It is a 0.70 (42 Frames @60 FPS) second improvement over the previous movie (tasvideos.org/3665M.html) by MrWint by the time Mario touches the final goal on Stage 8-4. Most of the improvement comes from faster Stage 5-1 involving a Bullet Bill and faster Stage 6-2 involving a vine. @@cynomyS He has to wait for the bullet bills to get to the flagpole either way (its the fastest way to finish the level), so it either would just be standing around doing nothing, waiting or messing around doing something funny or cool looking.
Larry Wolf he shows off to be more interesting because there’s only so fast the level can be done
So much happened in those few seconds, I had to rewatch it so many times just to appreciate each aspect
I loved how the fucking screen itself couldn't keep up in a few of the levels.

On underwater levels there's known glitch, that Mario "swims ducking", but you can't shoot fireballs. But i think, in this case it's pure magic...
Or more honest every enemy in game has smaller hitbox than sprite. Some of them ridiculously smaller (bowser's flame's hitbox is small dot on the left side of it)
Enemies in smb1 have very small hitboxes. This TAS just abuses that quirk to the max.

the movie was originally published amidst a flood of re-encodes as a couple publishers didn't like the run, this reupload is to give it a fairer treatment as many users skipped watching all the videos from that day.
The resolution is the same. This is mainly due to UA-cam not being able to process anything higher than 4k for some bizarre reason which has been addressed by Google/UA-cam.

If you mean that there's parts where Mario should've been hit but didn't, it's because Super Mario Bros. enemies have rather small hitboxes to make sure the player doesn't take unfair hits; they're not just cautiously small, they're paranoid small.
For example, Piranha Plants have their hitbox basically at their stalk. All those teeth are harmless.

As it mentions in the title, it's a TAS (stands for tool-assisted speedrun). It uses frame-by-frame inputs and then is played back at normal speed. This is not meant to show player skill but to show how fast a game can be played if time and human reflexes/skill aren't a factor.
