His whimpering bits with the subtitles explaining his thoughts were hilarious.
Do you guys think Scott is aware of the splatoon manga

do you think scott is aware of manga
Yeah do you think he’s seen the part where they shot ink from their penis’?
@@SpringdayAutumnmoon do you think Scott is aware of
@@SpringdayAutumnmoon I'd be terrified if he uttered the word "manga" his anime games episode already felt weird.
Personally I find it hard going back to Splatoon 2 now because Splatoon 3 added tons of quality of life improvements, such as more customization features, two new weapons classes, an improved Salmon Run mode (thats always hiring), skipping the news, and two new game mechanics, being squid surges and squid rolls. Splatoon 2 just feels archaic to me now. That and getting into a battle is a painful process because the matchmaking struggles to find players.
Really last time I checked I had no problem finding full lobbies in Splatoon 2.
The vibes of 1 and 2 are impossible to beat. Say what you want about it being old and demented I think they were much more fun than 3. 3 is more balanced and improves on a lot but I don't enjoy it as much as I ever enjoyed splat 2. The new music is the worst part. It just doesn't match that energy.
@@13_cmi I think 1 or 2 feels more fun because of the novelty those games had. 3 is better in almost every way at this point, but its not a total paradigm shift like the previous games felt like. It's on the same console as the last game, the way you play and experience the game at its core didnt change much, so of course 3 might not have the same impact or "vibes" as you say. You've had too much of the same dish, regardless of the way it was cooked and served to you.
If you’re S+ rank you literally cannot get into a match
@@lioedevon4275this is funny cause the second i got s+ i started getting a ton of lobbies

Scott loves making enemies of Nintendo’s other franchises/fanbases that he doesn’t care about
as a big fan of the franchise i have to agree with his point about the single player. while i think the challenge mode style is fun, an open world (or even semi-open world) with an emphasis on exploration would work so well with splatoon’s underlying mechanics
1:46 Trying to get into TF2 be like
Yep. I've been playing TF2 on and off again for the first time this year, and it still feels like I die in 1-2 shots. Half the reason I'm a medic main is so I can actually contribute to my team during tougher matches. The other half is because is feels like no one else plays the class.
Me when Overwatch 2:
To be fair, most people are more likely to find it funny if you aren't good. Especially when you're new to tf2. And if people are getting legit mad at you for not being good, then they're dicks and you're better off ignoring them.
Regardless of what you think of Splatoon 3 you gotta give credit to Scott for finding every single game from Sep 2022
Like Jesus, that's a lot of shovelware
I understand Scott's opinion here, I'm a major Splatoon fan, all 3 games make it in my top 15 favorite games of all time easily, but the 3rd game definitely should've hard a major hook, a brand new element added to the game that would be easily seen by non hard-core fans and get them to buy a new game on the same console. While I definitely don't think the game was lacking in new content, I think the developers should of added something, anything to get people to buy the game other than the fact that it is a sequel to a online multiplayer game.
That was a lot longer than I thought it was
Yeah, unless you're big in Splatoon, you wouldn't know what's new in the game at first glance. I think adding a new casual mode and a slight change on the art style would have gone a longer way with casuals.
i hope splatoon doesn't turn into cod where every few years it gets a new game release which little changed. Too early to call right now and there's defo still enough differences at it stands between the games imo, but if it keeps going on this path then it could get bad really quickly.
@@Daft0Cean968 I was so happy to see the 3rd game return to form with stuff brought back from the first game on the Wii U with the ideas scaling from gameplay to lore being elaborated on. (How the inkling race came to be, what the lobby would have looked like in Inkopolis Tower, what would have happened if Team Order had won the final fest of Splatoon 2.)
Anyways, I think the releases have great polish to differentiate from each other and different game direction that expands outside of the multiplayer.
They did: they toik out sting ray.
This series shows how much Scott goes to Super Weenie Hut Jrs.
He really does.
What's wrong with that? The Salty Spittoon looks boring
@@just_an_elli I mean yeah. I prefer the kuddly krab myself
That thumbnail 🤣
I wished he used just that for his Splatoon 3 review in the video
Splatoon 3: It's more Splatoon.
I’m begging you to not change the thumbnail.
He really called both versions of Salmon Run the same.
I mean, let’s be real, there’s nothing truly ground breaking between them in terms of gameplay. The throw mechanic is cool but it’s just a QOL improvement, nothing more
@@stevenmcburney8167 it's a little more complicated than that. You see the difficulty and mobs intensity for one is greater than it was in splatoon 2. The different bosses really change the course of the battle as well. The mode doesn't really get interesting until you reach the vp ranks as well because that's when the differences are more apparent.
Other improvements include how the snatchers have changed and how you can handle using them to your advantage. You can take advantage of other bosses to friendly fire their allies like the slammin lid and steelhead. The vast difference in egg potential is really noticable as well. 100 was peak in splatoon 2 but you can close to double that in the splatoon 3 version because of how many more bosses there are to drop eggs.
And of course the king salmonoids is a raid boss that takes a collective effort to defeat. You have to be weary of circumstances like unreliable teammates or difficult weapons.
I won't deny that there is a ton of missed potential and the insane prices of the shop items is daunting. However everything is still a massive step up from the splatoon 2 version which was kind of an afterthought.
You only really understand the differences if you played both versions of the mode enough. And you only brought up the throw mechanic. That tells me that you don't really understand the mode. Which is alright. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. I however have around 6000 games in splatoon 3 and around 1000 games in splatoon 2. So I feel like I have a better grasp on the mode than most
@@clasher138 well most of what you mentioned are the bare bones expectations for a sequel. For me, I mostly play salmon run in splatoon. I’ve played splatoon 2 and 3 enough to know all there is about the salmon run mode as ive at times played it nonstop and still am rn. I just feel that splatoon 3 lacks personality. It’s a step up from S2, yes, but that’s all it is. I mean they could have introduced new sceneries for S3 salmon mode to differentiate it in appearance. Also different salmon run objectives/goals would have been cool, lots of creative potential there. The new bosses, kings etc are great, but again it just feels like splatoon 2 plus. It feels kinda cashgrabby, in its presentation and this is coming from someone who loves salmon run. Just wanna emphasise I still love salmon run, just pointing out that it could have been so much more for a sequel that’s on the same console as it’s predecessor
@@stevenmcburney8167 yeah you are right. It could really benefit from multiple modes like multiplayer. Or have a consistent challenge system do give you more to do on the mode
Yes they are the same. As a top literal 1% scoring overfisher, they are basically the exact same to a casual player. 1 egg throw, a couple new bosses, and better mob tracking with a few new rare wave types (yippe tornado riveting). Other than the new maps obviously. New suits? Not really important nor is customization ever brought up in these reviews. So yes, the same.
One of my main gripes with splatoon 3 I’ve noticed while playing recently is that the multiplayer maps mostly just feel like your typical battle stage with the usual platforms here and there for no particular reason. They feel how new donk city feels like compared to the outskirts of that level with the rest of the world isolated from this one area. I loved the skateboard map and arowana mall from splatoon 2 cuz they felt somewhat apart of a larger world, whereas splatoon 3 has these isolated floating battle maps with obscure platforms and blocks placed about which makes it feel repetitive and boring to look at. Why can’t we have a proper map where we battle in an actual real world public area where it’s actually believable that this area can be inhabited by normal people. Would make the whole “fight for turf control” bit more epic and climactic
Not only that, but the maps from Splatoon 1 & 2 were just overall better and had multiple paths that could be taken to make it to the main central area where the majority of the action happens. Splatoon 3 lacks any of these alternative pathways in their original maps, making it so easy for one team to become bottlenecked and unable to leave the spawn area because of the other team camping on their side.
@@AzurePip exactly. I loved the tight corners and ability to sneak through enemy turf in the earlier games
This is literally the map design philosophy that is missing from the series. I miss when you were fighting in lived-in locations that were part of normal everyday life that matched with the whole urban rebellious youth style. I miss the days of unique layouts like Saltspray Rig, Walleye Warehouse, Blackbelly Skatepark, Arowana Mall, Moray Towers, etc.
I wish we had more maps with halfpipes or quarterpipes, not this bland tetromino-shaped layout that's compliant with the competitive scene.
@@AzurePip have you played S3 after the 8.0 update?
That never even crossed my mind. . .mostly because I don't see it in S3. Besides, maps are maps.
1:46 This made me realise watching a scott the woz video while eating or drinking anything is a BAD IDEA
I actually liked Splatoon 3. I had never played a Splatoon game before and this was my first time playing it.
Why is it surprising you liked it if it was your first one? That’s kinda the point how’s
I love Splatoon 3 ❤
it's my favorite of the trilogy, I don't think that's too controversial of a statement either. There are definitely places where I want it to improve for the next game, but it just oozes with personality and life in such a strong way that the previous games couldn't match.
Glad you enjoyed it. I think it's the best game in the series so far (not that you can go back to compare to splatoon 1 anymore...). It's far from perfect, but I still enjoy it
Me too lol. Wish i got into it sooner
Yeah, this is a series where your perception of it depends on the first game you play. If you dont like one, you dont like the series, and if you DID like it, then maybe the series is for you.
Also, Splatoon 3 is one of the best Nintendo games i have ever played. I will stand by that.
As a casual enjoyer with only about 1100 hours between s2 and s3, I disagree with most of this video
I think splat 3 needed more time in the oven
I think Splatoon 3 should have waited until the next Nintendo system in general. Give the series the same treatment as Mario Kart, as in one game per system. Nintendo could easily have released a spin-off rhythm-based game to tide fans over, especially with how much good music Splatoon has under its belt.

I can't wait for 7 years in! 🎉
I hope scott at least used gyro
Would you believe me it way friend who reintroduced me to gyro when she also introduced me to Ranked with S3 because all I played in S2 used to be singleplayer, Octo Expansion and turf war?
I would LOVE a Mario odyssey type game for Splatoon with the splat mechanics
I actually made a reddit post about that on r/splatoon and the lore and story megathread on r/gameideas
The way i see it, splatoon 2 was like the "re-release" of splatoon for the switch, like it happened to several more of the wii u library, like mario kart 8, breath of the wild, super mario 3d world, and so on
At first it didnt do things much different, cuz the game was still fresh, so they ported over the experience and started working on top of it
Thank you for providing me your perspective. Splatoon 3 is my game of the generation.
I respected scotts opinion of splatoon 3
Until i saw him rolling with the roller online
i politely DISAGREE!
I agree with him, my interest in Splatoon peaked with Splatoon 1, and Splatoon 2 at least made sense to be on the switch and had salmon run which made it feel a little more unique. Splatoon 3 didn’t really have anything interesting, it just felt like another splatoon game. I got it 2 years ago and have only played like 5 hours
I feel the same way. I loved Splatoon 1 and greatly enjoyed Splatoon 2, but Splatoon 3 didn't click with me and I dropped it before the end of its first season. I just feel they should have waited until the next Nintendo system before coming out with a brand-new Splatoon game, similar to how Mario Kart is one game per system. In the meantime, they easily could have continued updating Splatoon 2 and perhaps released a Splatoon rhythm-based game, given how great the series music is. It may not have sold as well as a mainline title, but I feel it would have been enough to tide people over.
As someone who's a big fan of 3 I get it 100%, liked the new worldbuilding and the art, music and characters it brought, was all about the sleeker gameplay and new balancing but I'll admit, something always feels lacking.
At times it ends up feeling like a mod of 2, all the new characters being the least developed so far in their base game was a huge bummer too
Even more at this point, it feels like like 3 was just made as a way to say goodbye to the conventions the series set but not by breaking said conventions, instead bringing them all together
I played Splatoon 1 and 2 a lot, but I only REALLY got into it after playing Splatoon 3.
As someone who’s in the trenches of splatoon and has played all of them a lot, and I play them A lot competitively, I have a very different view of splatoon 3 because of that and I feel way more like it was necessary. To explain some, end of splatoon balancing and meta was a total mess, it was so bad that the top picks where like in every single game past B rank, if you don’t play multiplayer much you wouldn’t have noticed this, but the meta became, pretty much exclusively shooters, and people noticed, it was the first time I’ve played a competitive game where the top picks where so prominent even the casuals realized how and why they where broken, it’s like if in smash bros the people playing casuals who say ganondorf is broken where correct and for all the right reasons, special spam became a huge problem, and I people would get 10 ink armors and missles per game, it was broken, and while I think it would’ve been better if they fixed it in updates, I’m kinda glad they didn’t l, a lot of the problems where fundementaly built in with the specials and it would’ve been weird if they just removed them in a update. Splatoon 3 meta has been waaaaay better then endgame splatoon 2, it’s has actual weapon variety instead of 6 shooters, and also made the movement feel so so so good, i doubt you would care much, but from someone who plays the games a lot, the new squid roll like doubled movements skill cap and made skill expression in movement way more fun. I still have issues with the game, mainly lack of content at launch, we still don’t have the same amount of weapon kits as we did in splatoon 2 which is frankly unacceptable, because the game might end updates with less than splatoon 2. And also the updates have been way to spread out which is annoying. As a very avid player I am glad they released a new game and think it was kinda necessary, but they should’ve waited and had more content at launch, at least the same amount as weapon kits and stages as in the game that came before it, ON THE SAME CONSOL.
Crab tank and squid roll all you need bro
True, specially with the single player points. The side order dlc was a huge missed potential, but it's still fun, and this pattern repeats across all game's features
"I do understand why this game exists now, as yes for an online multiplayer series you do need to freshen things up via new releases"
Is that necessarily true though? Games like TF2 have stood the test of time and stayed relevant via a single release that constantly gets updated (well in TF2's case, not anymore, but you know what I mean)
S2 was broken beyond repair. S3 needed to happen.
@@batmanbud2 elaborate?
@@krubbington S2 was very slow paced, especially since it didn't have Squid Surge or Squid Roll. It also has Main Powerup, which broke the game, and Sting Ray, the worst designed special in Splatoon history. Throughout S2s life, Sting Ray was either insanely awful or insanely broken. The game was also Shooter heavy, with Shooters getting all the kits and buffs, while the other classes had to scrounge. Case in point, Kensa .52 Gal, a two-hit kill shooter with defense (Splash Wall) and a panic button special (Booyah Bomb). S2 was, quite literally, broken beyond repair. None of these issues exist in S3 at all.
On top of S3 having Tableturf and WAY better solo campaigns.
TF2 never got replaced because 1. Valve, and 2. It was perfectly fine throughout its support.
@@batmanbud2 Ah, that's a good explanation. I get it now, thanks!
aside from batman's point, there's also the fact that TF2 has a huge micro transaction economy that generates millions every year to this day, while at the very most, Splatoon gets a single 25$ DLC campaign that'll be bought at max a single time per person.
Not saying that this alone justifies a new release or anything, but this + other reasons like the ones the other guy brought up compound to make a new game the preferred option for Splatoon.
the abrupt end got me
At first I got excited cuz i thought this was a teaser for his next video
SLAPTOON FUN!
In order to get good you have to play for MANY MANY hours 😅 I have at least over 1,000 hours in S3 and I’m still finding ways to improve
I think for a casual fan it might be difficult to appreciate the games. Online battles get hard REALLY fast so you are very much demanded to improve to keep up with it. Some people won't do that and that's fine honestly I just wish the game costed 40$ instead so ppl don't feel like they wasted money. But if you DO get into it I can confidently say playing online matches has never felt better oh my god I tried to go back to S2 and honestly I just can't Splatoon 3 is just way too polished to not enjoy (even if some map stages and balance patches try to sabotage you but that's a different thing).
As a splatoon fan who has hundreds of hours in each game, I understand your point here. While I don't think it's the "same game" as the other ones, I understand why a player who's not as experienced would think that way. People who actively play splatoon can point out several big differences and changes, while to other people it doesn't really seem that different or exciting.
I also do believe Splatoon's marketing is an issue aswell. Before Splat 3 launched they hardly showed anything new/exciting that was in the game which made it seem a lot more similar to 2 than it actually was (especially for salmon run).
Online play can and will be rough - especially if attempting to Go Pro, as I attempted, but it got to the point that it was better to just walk away from it… especially with some “cases” going on within the community, that I want no involvement in.
By at least I can still do some things there, including to lighten up the plaza with me drawing there via Plaza Posts.

Me when Splatoon
I am more of a splatoon fanatic, and I do understand where you're coming from. Granted, I am tempted to say "skill issue" when it comes to complaining, but there are some differences in the game. Splatoon 1 had the most choatic weapons because it had a lot of the most powerful sub and special weapon combinations on certain classes that never happened again. Splatoon 1 allowed more fun weapons and maps but weakest balance. You never stop seeing quick respawn and damage up. Splatoon 2 was great initially, but due to the switch forcing people to pay for a subscription, some people didn’t want to do that and stayed on splatoon 1 (me being one). However, splatoon 2 had a lot of team oriented special weapons and weapon designs. There was even a golden age 3.0.0's of splatoon 2 since it had a rock paper scissor meta with the midlines of blaster, umbrella, and dualies. However, in splatoon 2, the maps were definitely a downgrade (except for a few), power creep began, and certain shooters like the 52 gal were overbuffed. Splatoon 3 is the most "balanced" overall in terms of abilities (except for respawn punisher) and special weapons however there isn’t a lot of skill expression since people commonly complain that the maps are like "hallways" since they're so cramped and the certain weapon ir specials don't get buffed or get helpful changes, or certain weapon classes don't get options for special weapons as they did before.
As a blaster main I still can’t get over how for a bit indirects were a OHKO, like that is hilariously broken.
@lioedevon4275 I remember that along with rollers being one hit ko's. Luckily chargers were a thing.
I feel like this game is super limited just by the console it's on. They improved on graphics in splatoon 3 but there's so many slowdowns and frame drops. Maybe they'll be able to do more with the next game on a new console. At least if it's substantially more powerful than the wimpy switch.
I think the speed had been improved just about everywhere actually. Loading screen times for single player, salmon run animation optimization and frame increases/lowering the enemy count slightly, and improvements to the speed of result screens/ease of menu layout. All in all, I think it's quite playable and I don't see slowdown often enough to be an issue. (Only sometimes in Salmon Run at high EVP ranges at the end of a wave; i.e doesn't affect the active gameplay)
This mention of slowdown might be the case with the first version of switch models, but the lower network bandwith capabilities of the switch might be more of a problem than the infrequent moments of slowdown in the newer, improved models.
That intro was very unexpected 😳😟
Barely got splatoon 2 on its way out, pretty good. Then splat 3 was released and I got so into it, it caused problems and I had to cut myself off league of legends style
If I had a nickel for every time someone named Scott expressed disappointment in Splatoon 3, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, huh?
Can we have the fire emblem one too
Yeah. I know how rough the multi player is. Don't need to remind me...
as a top 2k (ttek div) player with like 880 hours in this game, its rly interesting 2 hear the perspective of a casual player. a lot of the reasons i think s3 was deserved dont matter 1 bit 2 a casual player :p
(l8 game s2 meta im looking @ u)
It's the reason I don't play Splatoon as much as I want. It's just not fun to lose every single match I play.
Isn't this game for kids? Why can't you beat kids?
@@Vyz3r A fair amount of the playerbase (especially the competitive scene) is ran by adults.
Agree with bits of the single player and I really do with that S3 had more stuff but if you wanna have more fun with the multiplayer you’re gonna need to learn how to use the weapons man. Constantly rolling with a roller and walking towards a roller when you have a shooter is not gonna do anything for you but get you splatted. Also don’t learn blaster. As a blaster main learning how to use them at higher levels was incredibly frustrating. Some games I’d get 24 kills and some I’d get 0 and killed 10 times when I was learning
Hi scott
I fully agree with this statement as it is heavily true. The Wii U was a fantastic entry and it is my favorite of the three. The sequel just felt like one point five in my opinion also and it's single player campaign was just awful compared to the original. The third entry is a heavy improvement over two but it is still Splatoon and nothing new as it plays the same as it did on the Wii U to un trained eye.
He’s spittin fax tho
He didn t talk about the maps… Also please stop aiming at the floor, always play to your maximum range and if you want to paint strafe left and right whilst at your max range amd gently rock your camera up and down.
( If your ever gonna play the game again…)
This game is great, and I became a fan back in 2017 when Splatoon 2 dropped. But as soon as Nintendo started charging for their "service," it was just com error after com error. Not to mention pitting you against the basement dweller who hasnt stopped playing the game since launch. The characters, story, esthetics, lore, and the best online mode Salmon Run made me the super fan that i am today, and I wish Nintendo would focus more on single player content because I DOUBT they'll do anything to improve online play and matchmaking.
As a splat roller main I am pained by how Scott uses rollers. STOP HOLDING DOWN ZR THE FLICKS ARE SO MUCH BETTER 😭 😭 😭
He's just a massive, massive scrub. His opinion shouldnt matter at all.
You cant really criticize the multiplayer side of a game like you can with the singleplayer side.
Splatoon 3 does bring huge changes to the franchise the splatoon 1 and 2 players only wish were in the game sooner. Squid Rolls and Surge, the ability to wait for team up in turf wars, and more balanced splatfest point system (which I know got refind as the game recieved updates) faster movement all around, the ability to choose your main abilities, and refined Salmon Run store and rewards, Salmon Run now open 24/7, More in game events, ect. I could go on.
I know these are changes that hardcore fans of the series will notice right away, but you cant just compare and contrast multiplayer and singleplayer nodes like they are the same thing.
I wont argue though, if you put Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3 side by side together, it does look like not enough changes were made to make Splat 3 visually more appealing and stand out.
Splatoon 3 is my favourite Splatoon. I’m a huge Splatoon fan though so I get why Scott might not care for it. It makes great tweaks to the formula which I appreciate. It does have some flaws though so I get the criticism.
Splatoon 3 was the game of all time in my opinion.
The only way splatoon4 will succeed where 3 failed. is if they stop trying to make the game competitive viable and just go back to the casualness of the first game. 2 had bad supers and subs cause they tried to hard to make it competitive. and 3 had maps that are all the same shape, and felt less casual. even though the specials were more fun then 2. they will still not be as fun as the original specials.
i don't get the last joke someone explain
a failed square enix rpg Scott talked about in the original video
While I'm still more so on the side of critics of splatoon 3, I think I actually agree with both sides tbh. I think a sequel to splatoon 2 should keep what makes the splatoon formula so addictive while adding onto the series and giving me a reason to buy the next game.
That being said, one and a half or so years later, outside of it being a new splatoon game, I'm still not seeing the "hook" for splatoon 3 tbh.
Long time player and a HUGE fan of Splatoon, Scott really aligned with how I felt about Splatoon 3 and the franchise in general. Splatoon 3 was the most disappointing game I've ever played in my entire life. Nothing they added was even remotely interesting. Single player is the Octo Expansion but way less, multiplayer launched with some of the worst maps in the series, Salmon Run is copy and pasted, the trailers were mostly uninteresting (single player trailer fooled me entirely), the game (world building and singleplayer story) completely disregards its theme, a world turned to chaos, and season updates dropped with mostly average or expected content (new weapons, new maps which took until year 2 to get somewhat interesting and playable, new specials, new cosmetics, ported gear from the last two games, two King Salmonids (super cool), and a couple new features like the Jukebox). It seems like for 7 years the devs have forgotten what made Splatoon so special. Beyond the core gameplay, the first game experimented with very creative maps that had unique layouts (example, Saltspray Rig and Moray Towers) and some with gimmicks. Last time they experimented with maps was with Shifty Station in Splatoon 2, which were limited time. They released 2 new ranked modes that made the game playout very differently, while Splatoon 3 has "play the game but with this feature maxxed out" and is limited time (not saying it was a bad idea) + Tricolor Battle, also limited time. In Splatoon 2, they dove into the world building and made single player levels we've never seen before, something Splatoon 3's Side Order REALLY fails to do. The soundtrack hasn't been the same since either. Splatoon 2 at least launched with Salmon Run. Although Splatoon 2 and 3 have good quality of life fixes and changes, you can't use that as justification for why it's a sequel or thirdquel. Splatoon has been really stale for a long time now
I respectfully disagree. I don't like Octo Expansion. I enjoyed both Alterna and Side Order more. Tableturf is a cute little side mode. The weapons and specials are WAY better than the first two games. The maps were all fixed after 8.0, and the recent maps are very fun (with Robo ROM-en easily being one of the best in the series). And while they did fumble the updates, the recent updates shows evidence of new devs, which is very good.
Also, S3 is way, WAY more balanced than either previous game.
As for Salmon Run, that was always just a worse Garden Ops for me. I never play, and I don't need to.
you can tell my brain is broken because i thought this was a preview of the next one of these. i forgot how old splatoon 3 is
For me I think splat 2 was such a stand out game. Great content, and things felt fresh. While I obviously like splatoon 3 because I'm writing this comment between games... it has major flaws. It's the weakest of the franchise so far.
i think the wonderful quality of life changes have no ability to overshadow how lackluster key events are, or how grindy most aspects of the game really is. Something major to me is that map designing only came into it's own during the late stages of this game.
he he didnt even mention that cooler meta is one of the best things to happen to the game smh
Scott doesn't follow the meta bro 😭. This was from like, forever ago too.

The multiplayer maps are terrible. That's the main issue
Not after the 8.0 update. They fixed them.
@@batmanbud2 Ah yes, it took them until the game's final major update to fix the maps. Nearly 2 years after launch.
@@FrahdChikun at least this means 3 will end in a better state than 2. 2 had one sweet spot in its update cycle where it was really good, and then never again after that.

Yo, Scott the Woz Splatoon real! W. 😎
Politely, i disagree.
I hate the gaming comunaty saying that is the same game on the same sistem so why play it whiel buying the same cod for the past 6 years
You'll feel different when the Kraken DLC comes out.
he’s so right for this 3 is mad boring and lame atm
errrr ❌️ WRONG!
@@chunkymonkey7983 no i’m right
Nobody is right or wrong. I personally love Splatoon 3 but I ain't a fool. I know it isn't everyone's thing.
@@arjunbaweja7755 the game is fun casually but im talking from a competitive standpoint
this games current meta is boring and lame
this is me when splatoon 3
Splatoon 2 was better than 3 not sorry
Absolutely not. Not with a shooter heavy meta, broken specials, the mere existence of MPU, the slower pacing, the mediocre main campaign, the overrated idol group. . .and the single most over hyped and overrated Nintendo DLC of all time.
Counterpoint: Stingray
Oh yeah, and Salmon Run in S2 is so boring now that I've had a taste of all the great changes 3 made to the mode.
Honestly, I also prefer Splatoon 2 over 3.
Jesus Christ no
This hurts to watch.
nintendo has a great track record of releasing the same game but making it a little bit shinier with each installment but i mean at least it looks shinier…. now my only gripe is repeating aspects like splatfests and story mode. the only time it branches out into new territory is the dlc and tricolor is not enough of a new identity and turf war isnt my favorite mode so im stuck with playing turf war until its over 😭 it sucks cause i want to like it but it never hooks me
splatoon 3 is easily one of the best switch games
Me personally I hate Splatoon 3 because of the fact I paid 60 dollars for it and couldn't play Online because you need 20 dollars to play it. But aside from that I think the DLCs are lacking and the story mode isn't bad per say I love the way they took insperation from Octo Expansion in terms of levels. But the boss fights are severely lacking or too easy. Like at least with Octo Expansion you had harder Splatoon 2 story mode bosses and a hard final boss and a harder secret boss but the main issue is the fact you pay 60 dollars for the game only to realize that if you don't have internet or 20 dollars for their bad online services it's not even worth it at this point for a game that's advertised to be played online and when you lock things behind it like cosmetics, a battlepass (I don't like this), and the jukebox of all things. It's not worth buying and no I don't care about the DLCs that bring back the Splatoon 1 or 2 hubs or the Rougelite Slay The Spire type of DLC it's not that interesting and it's just not that interesting. In the end just Play Splatoon 1 and 2 with Octo Expansion
This just sounds like dumb nitpicks.
Also, S1 no longer has online, and S2 online also requires an NSO subscription. So you're basically saying we should pay $10 for an extremely lame campaign and $80 for two slightly better campaigns instead of $85 for a card game and two really good campaigns?
I think you think that because you're still extremely bad.

All the Final Fantasy games are all the same and unoriginal.
The game is bad because you're terrible at it? Did you become 40 overnight before making this video?
That’s crazy that’s what you got out of this 6 minute video
@@josiahtheawkward6008 the basis of the entire review was on him being a scrub and thus not being able to enjoy 80% of the game
If you can play the same COD and 2K game over and over again, why not Splatoon?
Didn’t know Scott could have bad takes, unsubscribing immediately with 0 hesitation 0/10 smh can’t believe him smh again shaking smh……..
Nintendo are hypocrites
Arms still better.
As someone who defends ARMS. . .nah.
Splatoon drives me up the wall because it's probably the multiplayer shooter I'm best at(or maybe everyone else is just bad, it's clogged with little kids), but I'd rather be great at literally any other shooter. I played enough Splatoon 1 on the Wii U, I never got into Splatoon 2 as a result and I completely forgot Splatoon 3 existed until this video popped up.

L take bozo opinion
i adore all the splatoon games , but i respect his opinion and honesty agree with a lot of the points, splatoon 3 was really only for existing superfans
🫡
I only became a superfan because of Splatoon 3. I think the extra layer of polish on everything makes it easier to get into than the other entries.
@@chunkymonkey7983 i did too, so maybe it’s just for superfans in general
