hear me out. Lego Rock Band is genuinely the best entry in the franchise. Not only did it feature good music, but it also had charachter customization, a home base you could customize, and actual progression outside of a higher difficulty. It's the most feature packed title that genre has ever seen, honestly.
Lego rock band is a huge nostalgia wave for me, that is partly how I got introduced to play drums

I think Scott would genuinely have to try harder to make bad content than he does good content because I've been watching his content for a little over a year and he has never once left me anything less than entertained or at the very least, amused. On a side, note congratulations on buying a house Scott. And brilliant work writing in an arc about most of your games and consoles being stolen while you were moving to make it seem authentic in the context of the show.
I know Scott has over a mill subs but he’s still super underrated. One of the only you tubers I watch that I have to double take multiple times during a casual listen.
@@jimmiejordan6537 I agree, but I do think he's gaining the traction he deserves, if a little slowly. In the time I've watched him I've witnessed his following increase substantially and I'm really happy for him. I've never had the pleasure of meeting him in person but he seems like a genuinely awesome guy, as do his friends who participate in his videos so I always hope the best for them all when they do so much for their audience.

A few videos ago he while he was in the process of moving and some of his stuff was at his new place (presumably) since his game room was mostly emptied out he decided to make a running gag for a few episodes that most of his game related possessions were stolen in a robbery. It was pretty clever honestly, the way he found a way to film around his moving process. It shows real dedication.

Capcom did that with Darkstalkers Resurrection back in 2013. Deciding whether or not to continue the series, based sales of a rerelease of the older games. It didn't meet the sales target so we are now 24 years without a new Darkstalkers game.

I love that he talks about how Streets Of Rage 4 was so well timed because it was long enough that people missed it, but not so long that everybody went "Roads of what?". We're seeing the reverse with a lot of franchises in general right now. Marvel's properties made a huge cultural impact when they started to go hard into Marvel Studios, and the MCU.
Then they made too many movies, and it got to the point where people gave up on being excited. Constant movies, a new one every time you open the fridge, then a huge "Endgame", and now Marvel Studios is SHOCKED that their movie sales aren't doing too well.
Magic The Gathering is making new products so often that people are washing out of the game.
Hell, even Star Wars is starting to feel the heat on this one. It went from a revival to "Oh god, please just let me digest what you've already given me before you give me more"
Regarding Star Wars, it feels like the only subset of fans that are excited for future Star Wars projects are the gaming fans, because we're lucky to get 1 every two years. The fact we're getting Outlaws next year after getting Jedi Survivor this year is kinda crazy to me.
I'm gonna miss the brushed background but it's still good to see Scott is financially well

In the 2 months since this came out “Donkey Kong Country Returns. The whole continent?” has become one of my favorite Scott the Woz jokes.
Considering we got games like Psychonauts 2, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Metroid Dread,and No more heroes 3, sequels to games people have been waiting quite awhile for, I’d think it’s fair to say 2021 was somewhat the year of the comebacks.
NMH3 and Metroid dread we’re both so incredible recent games I didn’t think we’d ever realistically get too.
Same with SMT. We havent got a mainline game in half a decade and its been about 20 years since the last home console game

Scott, I think you’re a very skilled editor but your audio levels could use some improvement. When the mic volume keeps changing, it’s difficult to find a volume that lets me hear the video without disturbing others in my house.

I recommend reading Jeff Keighley's interactive book - Final Hours of Half Life Alyx. They explain that they WERE actually working on HL3 but they had many issues with their new engine and they've been restarting the development countless times: rewriting story, rewriting engine etc. Also they were working on L4D3 and some new projects but all of them were canceled

Regarding Half-Life: Alyx: The version of the game that was first given to playtesters had a VERY bad story. So Valve re-hired Eric Wolpaw to rewrite the game which honestly made it much better. The best part added was probably the ending, which I don't want to spoil, but it DOES actually try to justify why it's a prequel (in-universe).
Wasn't the reason the game's story got better was because Valve saw the reaction to Hunt Down the Freeman?
The ending totally changes everything. Unforseen consequences...
(no spoilers) I hesitate to call it a prequal because it's ending takes place right after _HL2: Episode 2_ and is entirely required to understand any potential sequels going forward, unless they just make it a cutscene at the beginning.
@@TristenSarelvun I agreed with you mostly, but the majority of the game does take place before the events of HL2. I will admit that the fact that it kind of rewrote some of the timeline was weird, but I still think that it is more of a prequel than anything.
@@Satellaview1889 Of course it's technically a prequel. But when people hear "prequel", they tend to assume it takes place entirely beforehand and is nothing more than a side-story, which _HL: Alyx_ is not. Which is why I hesitate to call it a prequel without further explanation.

Spore fans have basically become abuse victims. All we ever wanted was a sequel to the original 2008 game. Instead, we got various subpar spin-offs for the DS, Wii, and mobile, and then Maxis shut down.

They're looking for a way to put Mario, Pikachu and Zelda into F-Zero so it would sell to kids who don't know anything else.
19:28 I used to think that there should be another Chrono Trigger, but I eventually realized how complete the game is on its own. So much so, that any sequel to it would detract from it's original glory. But I wouldn't mind an HD remake.
I wouldn't say it would detract from it, but I definitely agree we don't *need* a third Chrono game. That being said, if they managed to do it well, I would happily accept a good new Chrono game.
I honestly think a Chrono Trigger sequel that focuses on Magus as the main character searching for Schala would be a good direction to go.
