Been a plant mom for the passed 3 yrs, and these beauties are giving me so much joy, I love philodedrans, been keeping multiple types❤️❤️. Thanks for sharing this video madam👍
Love this video! After splitting the “clump” could you put the cuttings in water instead of in dirt?? Or how would you water propagate if possible? Would love your advice :)
Hi Kate, I haven't done water propagation for xanadu so I can't really give an advice backed by experience. However, I was able to successfully water-propagate Philodendron erubescens and based on my readings philodendrons can be water propagated, so I suppose xanadu too.
One of the best videos I've seen on here. I even keep coming back. Very well explained, but also shown! Thank you verd much♥︎ After separating the plants by cutting, would you let them dry a little or immediately put them in spoil?
Thanks, Dirk! Nice may nag grow na saha sa xanadu mo! :) Pag malaki na yung offshot, tanggalin mo muna yung whole plant sa pot nya (mother and offshot), and then iseparate mo yung saha by force or cut it away. Make sure lang na yung roots ng offshot will remain with it. Then irepot si mother, and ipot si offshot. *Puedeng di tanggalin yung whole plant sa pot but a bit risky, baka pag force-remove mo sa saha, walang sumama na roots. Gaano kalaki dapat yung saha bago iseparate? Mas maigi if yung offshot is at least 5 inches tall na, para kayang-kaya na nya sarili nya pag maseparate sya.
hahah ganyan din feeling ko Glen the first time nag cut ako ng plant hehe But I reminded myself, If I do risk it, there is a possibility I can have more plants out of one. :)
... any soil where she is would be fine...warmth is the real key...that and drainage...we all kill our plants with too much water....improve drainage...pot within a pot ...
Hi Rowena, last year pa ni sa opon market sad. Tag P100. Check the other video about xanadu 9 months after, labong na ang original xanadus na akong napalit: ua-cam.com/video/f2cCUYEpeQE/v-deo.html
Hi Renee, thank you for the advise. Last year lang kami nag start mag garden and taking care of plants so tips and advices are welcome so we can improve along the way. Will keep your advise in mind for next propagation, salamat!
Hi Neriel, I really don't know the whys and hows of a xanadu giving offshot. :( I have two xanadu plants before I made this video, and both have given an offshot, it just grew from the sides. I tried to research more about it just now, but no clear info online.
Hi @Neriel! A friend of mine Gave me a very tall xanadu and no babies. The thing with philos is you have to cut them to produce babies. I cut mine and 2 months later 3 new shoots went out on the cutted portion. The top cut is thriving now. Dont be afraid to experiment. Life is short!
... mabe feed it Alaska 5 1 1 at half strength for a little owoomp ...might get a new leaf then ...keep it warm...no cold water watering either ... never gets cold in Brazil where this plant lives I bet ...
Hi Chloe, better na tanggalin mo muna yung whole plant (mother and offshot) from the pot, loosen the soil so you can see the roots, then force remove mo lang yung suhi dun sa dugtungan nila. Then repot both.
Welcome Chloe :) Yung gamit ko sa offshot ko is mix of garden soil and vermicast. Tapos i-under shade mo muna kahit mga 1 to 2 weeks before mo i-indirect bright light.
Hi L W, Thank you for your advise, if my mom didn’t have 2 adult xanadus in her garden now I would be giving her the more stable plant. She doesn’t have a baby xanadu yet so I am rooting for this baby to get healthier and better so she have a small one, perfect for the console table. *I usually give her one or two from my own propagations even if she has the plants already so when we go visit my parents house, there is something from my garden growing there too. Thank you L for watching the video to the end, I really appreciate it.
Hi Irene, naku, we can’t. It has to be English or mix with Filipino as Plant Box by Penfires’ aim is to be all-inclusive as much as we can. Example: When we were searching for tips paano iharvest and propagate ang Dorstenia seed, all we found are videos made by Thais and Indians, and they are speaking in their own language. Di namin maintindihan yung tips and sinasabi, ayun tuloy na waste yung 5 seeds ng Dorstenia namin, excited pa naman kami. Hence, English or mix is our video language choice as we aim to help as many as we can na mapadpad dito esp videos on tips and how-to’s.

Yes. Xanadu is actually one of the few plants that can permanently live in water, also.
@@avionterria7855 yes I did that . It's been in water for a month now . And it's fresh
Thank you so much for your video
Helpful, thank you.
You're welcome, Tell. :) Thank you too for watching!
Ang sarap ng feeling pag me new leaf furling di ba?

Good day maam. I'm a bit confused on how to cut my Xanadu's offshot since it wasn't showed on the video. Can you tell me how?
Nice video btw :))

go ate i love your videos
Thank you, Troy!
did you apply anything to the division wound or you just let it dried out before potting them? Thank you.
Hi Arma, I just let them dry out. Although some have told me it would be better if there is a fungicide etc applied to the wound for added protection.

✨👍
Yey!!! Thank you for this! I also have mini Xanadu and it is thriving now and I think I need to cut it. So scurrrd!!! 😳😬
hahah ganyan din feeling ko Glen the first time nag cut ako ng plant hehe But I reminded myself, If I do risk it, there is a possibility I can have more plants out of one. :)
I just noticed that after you propagated the plant, half roots is visible. Is it necessary po ba?
New suscriber here
Thank you just subbed
Maybe the pot has few draining holes
That, and maybe the potting mix I used is not good :/
... any soil where she is would be fine...warmth is the real key...that and drainage...we all kill our plants with too much water....improve drainage...pot within a pot ...
Thank you, Will, for the care tips. Will remember that and put into action.
I'm struggling to get the small Xanadu healthy, seems some leaves withered when I water. Not water, it seems not healthy
Can we propagate by leaf cutting only?
Hi Jaspreet, i tried and failed. :( I think for philodendrons leaf cutting propagations won't work, there has to be leaf+stem+root.
Thank u so muchhh❤❤
Did you put fungicide to the cut area ma'am?
Hi Angeli, no I did not. After cutting, I've planted them right away sa pot.
Where did you bought it po?and how much?btw are you still here po ba sa lapu2?

Ano po soil gamit nyo?
Hi James, garden soil with a little vermicast yung potting mix neto.
Penfires thank you po 🙏🏼
Anong ginawa mo sa sugat nya, tinakpan muba ng flour
Hi, nope, walang inapply na kahit ano sa cut portion, we planted the two splits on soil right away.
My xanadu didn't have a baby why??? It is very tall...

You should be giving your mom the strong healthy one now instead of waiting for the spotted one “if it gets better “ to give to her. Think about it
