That’s pretty much my exact story. I went to Texas to visit family, I am from Baltimore, and my cousin showed me this. Blew me away. Same Texas trip Mortal Kombat came out in theaters
I'm 44 now. I've been listening to them since 1995. I first saw them in concert at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania back in late 1997. It was a great fucking show.
Damn! One of those songs that takes me to a place and time in my life when I hear it!!!! It was 1996, I was 16. I worked for Regal Cinema's... this was the song that played during the credit's for the movie Clueless! damn how time flies!
Take it from a guy that saw the Bosstones in the 90's. Like a dozen times. They were awesome! The steam coming out of the Middle East in Boston, in December, looked like that place was on fire! Because it was.
Bosstones after Devil's Night Out was the best live band in Boston -- by far. They were more punk than ska. Horn section was amazing. Dickie really held the band together, consummate frontman.
Somewhere back in the 90ies, i woke up and knew ive got a test in middleschool. I turned the TV on, zapped to MTV and this was playing. I loved the Sound, everything went well and at least 25 years later, i still do! Thnx
The single for this song was released just about two months after I was born. Didn't ever hear about the Bosstones till the Digimon movie lol. Great song, great band.
I'm just gonna say that, as far as meaning goes, while I see how it could be a lover who ghosted the singer/narrator - I can see it actually being himself wondering where his past self went. "Checked the clock when I got home and realized I was alone..." It could be that he realized that his partner is normally home by that time, or it could just be a realization that he is and has been alone in life. Time goes on, and we can lose parts of ourselves - and perhaps sometimes the parts of ourselves that we feel may have attracted other people to us - and just because you realize something is missing doesn't mean you can find it and put it back in its place. So maybe he's really thinking about his past self when he asks "Where did you go?" Listening to the song from this angle gives it a deep meaning to me.
I have spent almost a week trying to remember the name of this band and the song. Dang, this was a blast from the past. And yes, this is my teenage son's account. He logged me out so I'm not changing it ha
I knew guys who were grinding in the asian man days playing for 50 bucks in the bay area... these guys toured their ass off when there was no demand for ska bands, respect.
I'm from another old shitty city on the Atlantic and this song has always reminded me of stumbling out of the Wharf Rat with my boys into the snow and finding whatever broken glass trouble awaited us in the glittery winter night
hello? checked the clock when I got home and realized I was alone sat for hours by the window wonderin' where did you go? couldn't eat or sleep at all took the pictures off the wall paced the place as time moves slow and I'm wondering where did you go? Where'd you go? Where'd you go? I wanna know Lit a cigarette I couldn't smoke wound the clock until it broke went to bed then took a shower stared at TV for an hour did the dishes, made the bed read a book I've never read any minute you will show and I'm wondering where did you go? Where'd you go? Where'd you go? I wanna know Where did you go?(4x) I opened the fridge, I opened a beer and played a tape I couldn't hear emptiness began to grow and I'm wondering where did you go? Watched the sun come up from the back stairs thought about the last few years I lost control, I screamed, I cried I punched a pole and went inside packed my things called a friend wished this emptiness would end wrote a note then tore it up poured the beer into a cup sat on the couch, drank it slow wondering where did you go? I realized I couldn't stay grabbed my things and I went away Where'd you go? Where'd you go? I wanna know!
Grew up in the suburbs of boston and always imagined i'd live in a brownstone like that but by the time I graduated, rent was too high and wages too low :(
I had this when I was a kid and I think my perception of it was funny cos I thought he was like this old man in a ska band based on his voice - like he didn’t grow up or something but it was kinda catchy so I gave it a chance
Look! Josh is dancing with Tai!!
Clueless
Such a cute scene Josh was a sweetheart!
He never dances...
Underrated comment lol
@@eyeswideshut7354 I can see why lol
Big shout out to all those that are still here in 2024.

You really need to listen to Leningrad .
THOSE TIMES! The world was awesome back then. When i didn't know shit, and life seemed endless.
I know, right? Where'd it all go.
Now everyone thinks they know everything but still don't know shit. Those were better days of not knowing shit, for sure.
Born in the 80s grew up in the 90s. The 90s were awsome 😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
@@jonskigonski4415 Lucky you 😎 93 kid here

I love the way MMB blends classic SKA with heavy guitar riffs.
Them and Reel Big Fish.
Yes they helped pioneer that sound
@@ShootYourRadio RBF made it lame.
I play this song as loud as I can on my zoom when my students have walked away or fallen asleep and they are no where to be found. :)

I love to hear this. Love this song.
That's great
LOL!😂
3 years ago? ..........16 years ago, more like....
One of the best Ska songs ever hands down
I saw them live in Phx around 94. That was the first of many Bosstone shows for me. They rock, especially live.
I remember watching clueless in the theatre and hearing this thinking, "holy shit!"...never expected it, ska was still underground where I'm from.
That’s pretty much my exact story. I went to Texas to visit family, I am from Baltimore, and my cousin showed me this. Blew me away. Same Texas trip Mortal Kombat came out in theaters
Ahh the 90s. Miss my childhood and this music. Great up thx!
Can’t believe this song is 30 years young ❤
Older than that.
Me and my dad listened to this album many atime. He passe a while ago and every time i think of him. I love yall. Boston until i die

Im 36. Listening to the Bosstones since i was a teenager. The older i get the more i appreciate them

This song was so ahead of its time. This band really.

Oh hey it’s Boston! This song reminds me of being 14 and listing to the Bosstones on WBCN the rock of Boston.

This band, Sublime, 311, and in some cases NOFX and Cake had a huge influence on me as a kid.
You can tell they have hardcore roots, with the breakdowns and gang vocals. This is such an awesome band.
Saludos Desde Chile Larga Vida A Mighty Mighty Bosstones
That strange period of coming out of the '80s and not knowing what to do yet with yourself. This came out in 1991. My god.
i love anytime the trombone is treated like a giant slide whistle
Never saw clueless. Saw this video on 120 mins in 10th grade and fell in love with the noise. Been a fan ever since.
I saw them so many times!!! Couldn't get enough & that opened the doors to so many other "RUDE" bands when life was smooth & we all had so much fun!!
I grew up listening to them and now I have 2 little ones who loves their music as well
Nice! Never too young to enjoy some Ska!
Me too!
As a UGA fan, it warms my heart greatly to see a throwback UGA hat in such an awesome music video. That hat looks dope as hell too.
Wow... I didn't even notice that! How bout them Dawgs!
@@futurecrunk How bout them National Champs! Good to be a Dawg.

I'm so ready for the house of blues
hello?
checked the clock when I got home
and realized I was alone
sat for hours by the window
wonderin' where did you go?
couldn't eat or sleep at all
took the pictures off the wall
paced the place as time moves slow
and I'm wondering where did you go?
Where'd you go? Where'd you go?
I wanna know
Lit a cigarette I couldn't smoke
wound the clock until it broke
went to bed then took a shower
stared at TV for an hour
did the dishes, made the bed
read a book I've never read
any minute you will show
and I'm wondering where did you go?
Where'd you go? Where'd you go?
I wanna know
Where did you go?(4x)
I opened the fridge, I opened a beer
and played a tape I couldn't hear
emptiness began to grow
and I'm wondering where did you go?
Watched the sun come up from the back stairs
thought about the last few years
I lost control, I screamed, I cried
I punched a pole and went inside
packed my things called a friend
wished this emptiness would end
wrote a note then tore it up
poured the beer into a cup
sat on the couch, drank it slow
wondering where did you go?
I realized I couldn't stay
grabbed my things and I went away
Where'd you go? Where'd you go?
I wanna know!
Please tell me I'm not the only one that knew this song long before Clueless... Can't be, their shows were always packed in those days!
