Amazing weathering done my friend. Looks so realistic. Another vid with lots of useful tips and tricks about weathering. Looking forward for your next project. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.
Thanks my friend. I'm still working on the VK 36.01 (that's a more complex project) finished the CAD part today, started 3D printing. Next video will be done the upcoming week.
Hello panzer-meister, thank you as always : ) That Bronco Kit does not look bad, but it has not the same level of detail as modern Dragon one. Panzermeister36 did build the upgraded C/D with Dragon parts on his channel, there is a difference between both brands.
Amazing work on the StuG! Your chipping and dust and especially your method for the wood texture all look amazing to me :) It seems like you always say you don't enjoy/feel too confident in the weathering but your results contradict that. Now you make me want to weather something!
Thank you Evan, very kind of you. I'm sure confidence will raise as soon as there are scale modeling exhibitions again and I've the chance to look at others amazing work first hand. Getting a feeling for what actually is a good standard to seek is my missing component when looking at a new project. Social media as only resource tends to bend perception a bit. We all know there is "that one angle" even the ugliest thing looks right and something actually achievable looks suddenly out of this world - just missing a real life anchor point xD
You made a fabulous job here. I built the original Stug III Ausf D in the UK (Welderbeast) and your vehicle is very good indeed excellent, great job!!!
Hi Jonathan. Thanks for takeing care in preserving these vehicles : ) If I'll ever live close to one of our museums I'll join the supporter/helpers club the same day I move there xD
Thanks mate! It is not perfect for sure, but a few things started to come together in a better looking way. I'm hoping to reach this level as a standard with less time spend for my future projects soon.
@@Tankbrusher great stuff, I really like your corrections for the King Tiger Prototype you’ve been working on, I live half an hour from Bovington so know the tank well (although it’s currently in America!) 👍
I'll add this too. Lol. The tracks? Lots of times, german tankers would put tracks in opposite directions. It helped in 2 areas. The first? wear and tear would be much slower and two, it helps with traction. The Afrika korps tanks did this, especially in Tunisia. And also armor in the Crimea. Usually done in the winter. In case osketten or winterketten tracks were not available. So you could have left the tracks alone. Lol
I do disagree ; ) Yes, they were put on the wrong way around in many cases, even in museums nowadays... It makes a difference construction wise if you push or pull a track link. In german the diagonal profile is call "Zugleiste", not "Schubleiste" (pull "profile" not push). On many tracklinks the material was thicker where the link mates with the tooth of the sprocket along the pitch line. This reduces stress on the tracklink and allows for much longer use. I work with 1:1 digital models atm and can tell you there is much more to a track link than we usually know. Renember there are addons for tracks: Hammerstollen, Schneegreifer, Mittelstollen just to name the common ones.
I really do appreciate TB teaching us the dark arts of perfect model making in English tongue, you must be proud of your countryman and think of him as a good friend,I cant speak deutsch, apart from a few things but I'm sure your comment is saying that TB is a bloody good sort, good night and God bless...
You're right, Kai from "Tankbrusher Scale Modeling" has a great channel and he does very good work with corresponding explanations!! Definitely not a mistake if you have subscribed to him. Wish you a nice evening too. Greetings, Joachim
i like it. always enjoy your videos. if i may nitpick. the only thing i don't like is the dust details on the roof...looks a bit too controlled and linear...if that makes any sense. perhaps a little more randomness would have worked? anyways just my opinion, you're a great modeler Bro. peace.
Thanks Mikey. I keep an eye open for these sand effects the next time I'm in a open pit mine again. Together with me blowing the highlights in order to get a nice white background it looks a bit too much, I agree. We will see the model agian when I do the 0-Series StuG, it will make more sense next to european theatre one. Anyway no master falls out of the sky - much was learned on this one on my side and there is much more to improve up on. ; )
I'm glad you didn't Matt black the end of the pipes,so many people would of went that way,if really does look like the ol stugs running a bit rich and spitting, more than lightly as we know now synfectic oil with a terrible viscotaty, sorry if my spelling bad.lol..
The dust effect on the roof of the StuG doesn't appeal to me, but I enjoyed watching this series of videos nevertheless. I liked the ground effects you got with the Ammo products and pigments, but the final layer of dust seems unnatural and very stark to me.
TheNordus stop being pompous,if you can comment on these things then your interests must be the same,so show us some of your work then, everyone's opinions different I know that much, horses for courses...
Hi,T.B I've came to pick your brain,if I may Im going to attempt to scratch build a (sd Ah.108 for sturmboot 39)as they isn't one single kit in 1.35 so I've found and looked it up in waffen revenue and what I need help with is how is the easiest way of converting the measurements from the book into 1.35 scale I hope this makes sense?another good looking build, like the way how the sand looks like it's all in the seems ,and you was lucky to find a kit with the dust filter aswell, many thanks and hope you can point me in the right direction..
Tankbrusher Scale Modeling I don't have the whole magazine,I've just snapped shot the page with the dimensions on,do you mean you've found it? Or would you like me to give you the issue number,it might take time I've got hundreds of pictures to go through, thanks TB God bless...
@@cal-qw8ov can you give me the issue number pls. I got a bit lost between what is Waffen Revue and Waffen Arsenal - these magazines are translated and I did not find the one with the dimensions in it.
Tankbrusher Scale Modeling Christ almighty that was hard work going through hundreds of pictures,my eyes are like organ stops now,so I've finally found its(waffen-lexicon1851-100-1 series 84 page 39 pls don't make me tag the the screen shot as I don't think I'm sharp enough, lol,I'll start practicing on a family member in case I need to,good luck and look forward to any information you can gleam..p.s sorry I've forgot it is in the revue one not arsenal..
Ok, I got it. There are no technical drawings included. Now it gets interessting. It is a 3t class trailer. If I would need to build one I'd order a Einheitsanhänger 3t (or even 5t) and convert it based on this: sammlung-eaw.at/objekt/sturmboot-anhaenger_sd_ah_108 It does not share the same chassis as a Einheitsanhänger, but you will need something to get the ,,look and feel" as well as overall similar dimentions from. Rest would need to be suggestive construction work based on your target manufacturing process (scratch build, 3D print, resin cast, what ever). You get the overall dimentions from the book, but you'll need to take the frame material diameter from another similar model. Das Werk came ot with a 5t Einheitsanhänger for example. At least that is what I would do, and how I work (taking messurements from my existing models via microscope and translating them into the current conversion project.)
I'm only saying this because you have a skill set. You dust is way to uniform. I think your read deck and track guards need more dust. The main gun always picks up dust when firing. Adding this, i love the way you do dust. Just watch out for the uniformity.
Hi Will, the next africa vehicle is still a fair bit down the road - most likely Tiger 131. You and the other do have a point with the dust, so I'll look into it for the next one. Thanks mate : )
I thought you did a great job. As for the complaint by the viewer saying he didn't like it because it looked "stark", Over weathering a model makes it look fake. Look a real photos of desert vehicles, the open desert removes a lot of the dust and dirt. Too many modelers try to use to many weathering products in their attempt at realism. Watch some of the weathering videos that the artist goes through episodes of layers upon layers of weathering techniques only to have them completely covered up in the end. Great for selling products but not for depicting reality.
Thanks N Yaffe! I don't claim to have nailed the picutre I had in mind down onto the model but still I like it so far. I do know sand deposits from open pit mines, they stain little of the surface but accumulate in thick "snakes" when the surfaces changes shape. Still there is much to improve as always.

Thank you! for all the tips and skills and even the odd mistake makes your videos wonderful to watch and learn! Great Job!!
Thanks Harald. Didn't know about StuGs all to well back than. I'm preping for new ones this year.
The project is looking fantastic and after the last weathering process the Stu-G III is great detailed . Thank you for sharing , my friend !🙂👍🏆🥇
Thank you my friend, highly appreciate it : )
Cracking finish. It certainly has the desert look about it. Really enjoyed watching this one come together. One to be proud of
Thank you Steve!
