Possibly Wheel Bearings... Possibly Center Bearing... Possibly something else!

I see you haven't posted in like 8 months did you ever figure this out? You never made the video about changing the axle seals did you ever do it? Are you coming out with any more videos ever or have you given up on the channel?

      Sounds like a wheel bearing

I have an S4 as well and just recently replaced my rear wheel bearings. The side that was making noise had absolutely no play but was very loud. A somewhat sketchy test you could do would be to put the car on four jack stands and run it at idle in a high gear (4th or 5th) and listen at each corner. If a wheel bearing is bad you should be able to spot the loud corner no problem. Not saying this is your issue, but I wouldn't rule out a wheel bearing just yet. It's very obvious once you get the wheel, brake rotor and axle removed and are able to spin the hub by hand. Also check for rear tie rod play. It's likely that the ball joint is worn and may need replacing. Might as well do that too if the bearings are bad!
    Good luck troubleshooting!

Nick Findley that's the first thing I thought hearing from the backseat camera.
Could be center driveshaft bearing as well.

Jack it up and also turn the wheels..any scraping/loud sounds then def a wheel bearing.

Im guessing by the comments you're probably steering towards wheel bearings. I too recently replaced both rear wheel bearings and no more noise. 👍

Sound is classic wheel bearing growl

  • @ProEvilxD

Hi man! Recently I had the same noise and similarly to your case it was getting louder with speed incrase. Moreover, when I was getting louder and louder after driving next miles.. and guess what - it was left wheel bearing.
I replaced both of them, those parts are not expensive but there is quite a lot of work to do because of quattro drive and it's sophisticated suspension. Let us know if this would be the same case. Good luck with repair and regards from Poland!

It's your wheel bearings guranteed. Get yourself some FAG bearings and just do both rears. I did one and the other let loose not 2k later. I had no play in mine either just do it. Be warned it's a bitch since they're pressed in and getting them to pop isn't fun. Also be careful it's super easy to strip that axle bolt it's a massive allen make sure you get her seated fully in it and be prepared to bust out a breaker bar and pipe bc shes in there tight!

"Good morning guys, what is going on. It is 7:30am in the morning."
Umm....Once you say, "am" it is perceived that it means, "In the morning." You don't have to say in the morning, again. Other than that, cool video dude lol.
