    • @rocinante4488
      @rocinante4488 Рік тому +116

      Lucky? The kid’s just being all nice and nonchalant because he doesn’t understand the consequence. He’s probably going to get a felony for this, and then a few years down the line, when he’s trying to get an actual job that’ll be able to give him financial independence and growth as a person, every employer will deny him based on his felony arrest/conviction. He will then resort to working some soul-crushing menial job that doesn’t require a background check (waiter, dishwasher, construction worker). Menial work for low wages, living with mom cause he can’t make enough to get his own place. No gf cause hes broke and lives at home. There goes the self-esteem and dignity that he shows in this video. With that depleted self esteem and hopelessness comes the drinking and weed. Maybe even pills and harder drugs.
      All of this for what exactly? Some kid being a dumbass and driving his motorcycle without a helmet and crashing into the grass. And we wonder why there are so many unhinged people in this country. Lifelong systematic consequences for absolute nonsense

      I took a defensive driving course years ago for the 10% insurance reduction, and the class was taught by a clearly-jaded cop who was just shy of retirement. He advised the class as an oh-by-the-way, that if you're ever lit up by a cop and you've been drinking but you're close to home, just punch it and run inside and grab a beer and then answer the door and say you didn't realize that they were behind you / trying to pull you over. At that point (he claimed) there's too much reasonable doubt for there to be a DUI conviction. But, yeah, it seems like you're still gonna catch some charges for fleeing. Not sure that's really any better than a DUI.

      @@paradiselosing well it's a good thing we have guys like you to blow something out of proportion by not understanding situational context. Let's break it down: This person, already a legal adult, was driving his bike illegally, and recklessly at that, ran from police, and ditched it to run into the woods. The cop has absolutely no clue whether or not he has a concealed weapon (gun or otherwise), and thinks he's hiding in the woods so he can grab the bike when they leave (reminder he has no clue that he was running home). Maybe where you live, guns aren't as common, drunk people as well, but up here in 'scansin, we have more bars than citizens, and more guns than livestock, the potential for a traffic stop to turn into a shootout or ambush on a cop is real (but luckily rather small), the cop wasn't prepping to ice the kid, he was keeping control of the situation by setting the pace; if the kid sees the gun, he'll surrender. You must've also not watched the drive to the station, the cop was HELPING the kid with this whole "growing up" thing; the kid made a stupid set of decisions, and he'll pay for 'em, but the cop was doing the adult thing by showing him why good decisions are important, and how fucking up isn't the end, you gotta live and learn, or else you'll lose your life early.

      @@toilet_cleaner_man like you already said the cop didn't know if he had a concealed weapon. Which really means that cop had a weapon drawn for no reason. People gaslight that fact almost every time. Look sorry if you the delusional that blue gang members are all innocent yet this country has had a very large problem with police being currupt. So we as the people they abuse will always have concerns about what moves are good and bad by the police. That cop had the right to be on alert. Yet the accused man of running from the police had no prior violent crimes involving guns. And had not seen any guns on the individual. Proving more or less the cop was a little trigger happy. The police are meant to protect and serve the people and not the police. Looks like he was more interested in protecting himself rather than the kid who ran due to the fact the police was pulling the kid over anyway for speeding that could potentially hurt the driver of the bike or other vehicle drivers on the road. People have little to no clue to police policies nor the due process that cops have to go by giving the situation. And this situation did not need an assault rifle. That is what lawyers would call overkill. You should understand this giving if you were the one running without a weapon you wouldn't want a police officer trying to aim an assault rifle at you.

      Unfortunately, he will have to survive the court system and prison for probably 3 years, he is charged Felony I (346.04(3)) Pre-trial conference on September 22, 2023 at 02:30 pm.. This record will ruin his life, probably will loose his job, and have a hard time getting one when out of Jail. This penalty might be too harsh, yeah he was stupid, but had no prior record. He spent a weekend in Jail, has hefty fines, Pray for him, I have faith he can be a productive citizen if we let him. But I fear we will not provide the support he needs, instead we throw him away, prison and a felony record for life.

      @@user-eh2ty4mv3e yes he is legally an adult, but at 19 you are still a kid, especially to your parents. Not everyone makes huge mistakes, but everyone makes mistakes and no one is a mature adult at 19. This kid could have really hurt someone, but he didn't...

    • @Justin-vr5zn
      @Justin-vr5zn Рік тому

      @@MpMp-ys7us Considering he has no priors and no one got hurt, that is an insanely harsh sentence.... No way does he deserve to have the rest of his life impacted as an ex-con with a Felony I record. Spending a few years in prison when you are 19/early 20s when you are still developing /maturing, you will come out a much different person, and likely not for the better. If he planned on college, that likely wont happen, which isn't that bad and may be a good thing for him... but he will have a tough time getting a job and will be limited in what he can do. Won't pass a background check, can't do any trades where you work in peoples homes, nothing handling money... he will be flipping burgers or cutting grass. Having his life "ruined" he is more likely to drink/do drugs / commit other crimes... I believe in second chances, especially when no one got hurt. He could have hurt someone, but you don't get punished for what could have happened. If he keeps screwing up, and doesn't learn from this, then I have no sympathy.
