"Akuma's Legendary Backshots" - Maximilian Dood
Max talking from experience 🤔
@@dosilius2568 akuma has that bbc
Raging demon backshots 🧐
Aayyy yo
Geras enters the chat
"Legendary Akuma Backshots"
Raging Demon means something else now
“Legendary back shot with the shhhhooosshh…..shhh” gentlty strokes you as he commits Messatsu.
More like he grabs the victim from behind and proceeds to inflict his own version of "Hulk Smash"...buuut...despite the look of his win screen against Elena, it's probably actually quite useless against her, in a "joke's on you, I'm into that shit" sorta way. Not that it'd stop his smack talk, though. (His quote to Elena, "Your kicks lack power...you don't deserve to be a warrior!", has GOTTA be his most savage line since Alpha 3's "You are permanently crippled! Accept your defeat!!")
“It’s too big 😫”
@@DragoonMSI know for a fact you have experience with writing stuff like this (send me some)
The Shun Goku Satsu in Street Fighter 6 looks absolutetly incredible however my favorite version of it will always be the 3rd Strike Shun Goku Satsu. The image of Akuma engulfed in flames is just so raw.
It does, but I just really feel the cut from the down strike to the backshot is kinda awkward looking
Nah, it aint raw.
It's crispy
Third Strike's Raging Demon is the Best of them all ^^
I was one of the few people who didn't find the Shun Goku Satsu awesome.
It was a cool looking Super but nothing wild
That is until I saw the Shun Goku Satsu in 2nd Impact and....
GOLLY!
I was like 🤯
3:46 Akuma!
He can really move!
Akuma!
He's got an aaattituuude!
Akuma!
He's the strongest thing aliiive!
He's the strongest thing aliiieeiiive!
HE'S THE STRONGEST THING ALIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!
Lol I know where you got this from when you were singing it it was from the Sonic Saturday a.m. show from the 90s cartoon DIC Corporation oh man the memories Good Times 😆
Gotta love the Sonic SatAM reference!!
👏 👏 👏 👏 well done 👍
Ryu: "I HATE THAT DEMON!"
Fun fact: Kara cancel is japanese slang for empty cancel, because you cancel into a move while touching air. I guess empty cancel doesn't sound cool though...
The demon flip barrel roll had me laughing 😂
I agree that Third Strike Akuma is the best mechanically, but SF4 Akuma will always hold a special place in my heart.
I miss Oni and his Air Raging Demon everyday...
I miss the back jump air hadoken with no cost 😭
Idk,I mean sf3 Akuma isn't top tier,he's A tier to high B tier where as Akuma in SF4 he's considered a top 10 character,so mechanically id say SF4 's is superior
After all of these legacies, all the tutorials, all the playthroughs, just listening to Max talk about the games he loves, hates, or feels so-so about is incredibly entertaining. He's so genuine with his joy or displeasure, and it's always great to listen to someone talk about things they are interested in and are excited about. We just need a history of fighting games with narration and commentary by Max. He'll be the Richard Attenborough of fighting games.
We kinda get a tease of the Kongou-kokuretsu-zan in Street Fighter ZERO2 in Ryu's ending - if you pay close attention, you'll see a particular frame where Gouki whacks the ground to sink his island, leaving Ryu sopping wet in the ocean all alone with the thoughts of a hidden power that Gouki mentioned.
1:40 "I play street fighter for the plot"
I remember an old comment that said:
"When Elena loses, everyone wins"
😆😏
1:39 goddamn
Man i can't wait to get Elena in sf6
GYATTT
" Finish her ! " .. " F*cktality ! "😜
Legendary. Backshot.
So that is why Akuma is friends with Elena 😏😆
I really liked the Raging Sunflower design. There were limitations to how good the design was going to look in that engine, but it's the stepping stone that brought us our modern-day hermit berserker.
tbh all they needed to make it less goofy was to just pull the topknot back a few inches instead of directly on top. Glad to see they fixed it in 6.
1:39 Oh, Boy... 😅
Elena have to return in SF6 🥰
The Tiny Desk Akuma in the background is a nice touch.
When Akuma kos the opponent with the Raging Demon, his heaven kanji glows on fire
Despite the fact I first became aware of Akuma around the MvC2 days, as a Tekken guy, the version that immediately comes to mind for me when I think about him is Tekken 7. Akuma was a top tier menace for the *entirety* of that game.
Akuma is the only character I've seen where they remained top 1 and never lost the top 3 spot ONCE in the entire game's life span, even with years and years of updates and patches
@@21Handguns I wouldn't say Akuma was ever top 1, especially not when Leroy or Fahk launched, but he was probably never out of the top 6. Akuma was one of, if not the, most adjusted characters in the game and I can't think of one meaningful nerf he ever got.
@@melvinshine9841 bait used to be believable
In this timeline, Akuma just Shin-Shoruken'd the Titanic before they sent that submersimble down there!
Its a little bit sad that Shin Akuma in 2nd impact wasn't that big of a deal because his intro from Akuma into Shin Akuma is just gorgeous
Is SF3 Akuma the best version of the character? Possibly. Is Killing Moon from 3rd Strike the best theme for Akuma in the franchise? Yes, absolute perfection, no notes, program it in to a brain chip so it can never leave my brain.
Akuma vs Gill
The debate begins
I could be talking out my ass cause it's been a while but iirc Akuma did one shot Gill with demon, although he resurrected shortly after, so ultimately it depends on the rules of the match I'd say. In a fight to the death? If we call the match the moment someone dies, regardless of if Gill revives, Akuma wins; if the death is only counted when one stays dead, Gill probably wins by attrition unless akuma can fight forever in which case it's an eternal draw. In any scenario that doesn't involve someone getting off'd, probably Akuma.
Akuma already settled that debate tho
Akuma did kill him,the issue is Gill was able to resurrect, but Akuma did canonically beat Gill so this argument is dumb
What you should be arguing is Akuma vs Oro,as they were evenly matched and stopped fighting because they both would've destroyed each other.
Man the 2nd Impact UI is just so much better looking
Some of the music is better too. Ryu and Ken’s themes in particular stand out compared to 3rd Strike.
2nd Impact has better UI, Stages and Music
3rd Strike has better gameplay
I remember when SF3 was first being advertised and they were showing off the revamped art style. It was a huge step forward, so much more detail and fluidity, animations looked amazing. As far as the 2D versions go, these might be the best.
Akuma in street fighter 3… so much fun, this is the game that usually comes to mind when thinking of this character. ❤
3:12 some Earth Worm Jim crow vibes there 😂😂😂
Loving watching through this Akuma legacy. Great stuff. Keep it up!
So good! Such great stuff Max... really brings me back.
What I love about him is how each of his endings foreshadowed a new move you could use in the next game
Akuma: Destroys mountain and ship
Akuma now: Destroys Statue after casually DP'ing a child.
It’s funny about the history of SF3 and the struggle it had to go through before it became the fun loving icon that it was always meant to be thanks in part to legendary fighting gamers like Maximilian dood and his friends from Yovideogames, Justin Wong, and gaming info from Matt McMuscles.
3:00
I know how that feels when I was younger, Max lol.
This video format Is so good man, Is so fun to watch i love it
I didn't know who JR Rodriguez was until his FT10 against gootecks about a decade ago. Man never stopped playing 3S.
Some artist in some weird forum will have a field day after hearing "Akuma Legendary Backshots"
Funny - I always thought that Akuma's 3rd strike KKZ was a reference to Geese Howards deadly rave super from the SNK games.
I thought that Akuma's _Kongou Kokuretsuzan_ was modeled/inspired by Geese Howard's Raging Storm....
I love how many of Akuma's endings are just him smashing random things.
I love how Akuma just gets bored and starts destroying random shit just cause
….:why Elena losing picture got her face down, ass up like that lol
Devs knew what they were doing
Flemon in spanish is a big amount of viral mocus , so enjoy your fries with that dip
That divekick from 2nd Impact is cursed. It's a natural option select where you can also parry because of the down input.
Very fair move imo.
Oh sf3, what a game, the memori- 1:40 GYYYAAATT
the 2nd impact logo in the intro is sooooo crisp its beautiful
SF3 2nd Impact is my favorite out of the three SF3s believe it or not. I just have more fun playing it compared to 3rd Strike. I remember having the Double Impact disc for Dreamcast and fighting the Akuma/Shin Akuma secret fight was mad hype once you got to it! Maaaan, good times.
6:07 legendary
8:35 Being a 3s Gouki main , i appreciate you for giving the Demon his flowers Max
For my ps4 which gamepad is best for sf? Power a fusion or hori octa ?
I was playing Street fighter 3 in the collection when it came out. Thought I got pretty good at it and went online with it.... I think I was consistently getting beaten in about 10 or 20 seconds. Good times! Great game.
I'm just now noticing that max has Akuma's kanji behind him
When I think of Akuma, I think of Alpha 2 Akuma for a few reasons. First was due to this being the first "official" version of Akuma who was entirely selectable without codes or hacks or anything. Second was establishing his rivalry with Gen as masters of assassination and their fight. But third was because of Akuma's ending musical themes and HIS OWN CREDITS SCREEN ENDING. It was the ONLY time that any one character in Street Fighter history had their own credits ending; NOT EVEN RYU OR KEN HAD THAT!!!! That has to speak volumes of how important Akuma was to the Street Fighter universe in Alpha 2.
OFF TOPIC QUESTION FOR Y'ALL: Do you think Street Fighter X Tekken would work with the updated designs of Tekken 8 and the new graphic design of Street Fighter 6 if they were to try that cross over again today?
I think that Tekken 8's style could work pretty well (since if this game was made they'd absolutely reuse everything they could to save on devtime), even for the Capcom characters as I feel SF6 went away from the cartoony style of 5, so I'd say people are more ready to accept SF chars that borrow Tekken's aesthetique these days.
One of Akuma's new moves in this game reminds me of Geese Howard's Raging Storm
Alpha 2 Akuma is my 'go to for initial reference
Hey max..... what was the purpose of Dirty Beret advert in Darkstalkers???
The CvSNK Shin Akuma doing the fighting pose with the red/purple flames surrounding him is the best. 👍
Wait, so the tatsu spliting boat ending is foreshadowing akuma ultra 2 in sf4?
Flemon Dip Jr. cameo at 7:05
Also shin Akuma theme in second impact is amazing
Akuma's KKZ was also done for Akuma's StreetFighter V Critical Art.
But the SF6 version looks so damn good.
I never see anyone do that shockwave move in 3rd Strike. I always forget he can even do it.
fleemon dip lol such a cool move but broken as hell too
The KKZ is my favorite Akuma move. It's just so cool!
The uppercut blocked by Urien at the 8:50 mark reminded me of a Johnny Cage nut punch
The move he shows on 3rd strike ending is called "Tenshou Kaireki Jin" If not mistaken. It looks like ultra version of his Tatsumaki
I half wish that Akuma in SF6 didn't have a Drive Gauge - akin to his form in SF3
Sf6 is so drive gauge focused (to it's detriment) that it would lead to Akuma being in his worst spot ever if he didn't have the gauge
@@sladevalen2120or best, if he has drive equivalents/meterless moves that beat drive
@@sladevalen2120 you can fix that by overtuning everything else lol
You could make his teleport work like a slightly weaker (but costless) drive rush
Plus, no drive gauge means no burnout either :)
@@sladevalen2120 it's like how Gill in sf5 didn't have crush counter . It just instantly made him low tier
KKZ is one of the few ways in 3rd strike to guarantee a round win on a knockdown, since the first hit is unparryable. unless of course you're fighting another akuma, in which case he's got a teleport that's invincible on startup. he can escape aegis mixups with this teleport as well.
Speaking of Raging Demons: I had this setup with it back when I played SvC on the psx where I hard knockdown my opponent and then air fireball, into a demon... fun times, doing it on the CPUs.
In the Japanese dub of SF6, the Haiku that Akuma recites while performing his raging demon even makes a reference to the time he destroyed a mountain. I believe it's the first verse of the haiku
Yes. So powerful
@PIKACHUAKUMA One of the best Akuma players I've ever seen.
akuma doing his geese impression with this move
Oh shit! We got both 2nd Impact & 3rd Strike @ my arcade!
Funny thing is... I never did that move all that much in 3S. It looks amazing, but now I see it's a great punish for a whiffed air move.
Cap vs snk 2’s kkz is the best looking one imo. So cool!
When I think of Akuma, I think of Dan. But on the opposite side of the same joke.
Nice to see that Vergil's move Hell on Earth in DMCV was actually a homage to Akuma
I feel like the KKZ lore was put in there so I wouldn't comment on it... but here we are anyway :D. Great vid!
Shout outs to the "Shin Akuma"-fied version of Sean, Ura-Sean in the 4rd Strike mod.
Getting my hair straightened for a cosplay
The only thing bad about Third Strike is they changed the hit sounds from this to some crap weak sound.
The move akuma used to break the ship in 3s ending became his ultra in sf4
Legendary backshots
id love to see a new 3RD strike like SF game but with the full SF roster
that would be siiiick
As a tiny little baby guy, SF5 is the first Akuma (albeit the nostalgia one) that comes to mind for me. I will never forget the feeling of actually seeing what was happening in the Raging Demon for the first time.
The KKZ in this game is my favorite non raging demon super if all time. It is so sweet, I wish it was more of a thing in 6
when I think of akuma I definitely think of this game since this is the akuma that kicked my ass the most, I had more difficulty fighting akuma than gill
@5:50 the editor was like "PAUSE".
Why did Akuma broke a mountain?
Because he can
I too am an Akuma backshot enthusiast
11:46 I'll be honest...I've never seen this Akuma KKZ Attack in 3rd Strike 😮
My brain automatically goes to Alpha/Zero 2 Akuma. Most people had like 5-10 games for a console and that was one I spent countless hours playing on my Saturn.
MAX❗️ WHAT’S IN THE BOX⁉️
Yoo 3rd strike was my fav especially when you get the dip switches you was able to cancel everything and you were able to cancel a super art with a super art it was nuts akuma tatsu super art into air super art hadoken oh man 🔥
Akuma is so sick in 3rd
4:45 3rd Strike
Born in 98. So i dont have a dog in the race. However my first real knowing if Akuma was 3rd strike. Clips, wins, tourny wins. Like 3rdstrike when i was a kid was what people nutted over talking about akuma. Then Oni happened and Ive wanted him back ever since. Imo akuma was the first real one to make players bring 2 sets of mental stscks. He didnt get ex moves because he was the blueprint for the rest of the cast. Just a theory tho.
That "mountain" he destroys looks like Uluru lol
Just casually destroying a mountain.
You forgot to mention the invincibility frames of the kkz
Shame that you didn't mention Shin Akuma is sitting unfinished in the files of 3rd Strike along with a completed "blood moon" version of his stage, Kousyu Street.
What about the legendary "Sheng Long" from the EGM April fools days. Had everybody trying to find him.
just remembered akuma's misogi from svc (i think)
My favorite version of akuma is cyber akuma in marvel vs Capcom ,bro is BUSTED!
