How To Grow Lemon Tree From Seed (0-3 Years Updates) • How To Grow A Lemon Tr...
I've grown a lemon tree from seed before. Like in three or four years it produced. Unfortunately, shortly after frost killed it. It regrew a year later. I did not expect that. Currently, it is doing well, and is flowering.
I think a lemon tree update and more detailed care guide would be helpful.
Relax
Yes please make another video on how to take care of lemon tree and have you ever seen lemon and how long will it take to see lemon
Did they ever produce lemons?
My lemon fruit is 1 year old and it’s like bigger than this. It will produce fruit in 2 year or 3 and every year it will grow bigger and produce more fruits. GIVE THEM SUNLIGHT!
From seeds it takes years, need grafting
Takes round 4-5 years
I started the lemon seedlings. The leaves are looking wilty. What do i do? Please make another video on how to care for them please.
Now I think I know why my lemon plant is not doing so great. Thank you. Would like to hear more about nurturing lemon trees, winter care in cold climates etc
Right??? The way someone else told me was to leave as is right out of the lemon nd to soak for an hour then stick in a bag for a week😡 I wasted a week of waiting for nothing
I was told these trees grown from seed will never fruit, is this true?
Also I would love to know how you take care of your trees
Have they produced any lemons?
My 2 y/O trees are much bigger than that even after pruning a few times. You need a grow light for the winter months so they can mature throughout the year. I started my trees in peat but then transplanted to half and half like you're using after the first year. The gravel also isn't necessary unless you're using them to weigh down the pots (the sand takes care of that too).
Mine, which I started in February under a grow light, is only about 6 inches tall today. This is after I left it outside on the sunny side of the house all summer. I have it in regular potting soil. Should I make the soil half sand-half potting soil?
I was searching thru your channel for more content on lemon/fruit trees, and it lead me back here. This video was wonderful but I would love more information on how to care for the tree and how to protect it from the seasons! 🖤🥰 your doing a great job with your content and I hope you have a great day!
Hi & I’ve got lots of questions. First, thank you for the superb way presenting this video and it’s info about planting the lemon tree seeds.
My questions:
Does this need specific type of soil and fertilizer to grow its to its best tree?
How long do these trees take before bearing fruit?
Does the grower need to do anything specific to help the trees grow fruit?
What is best way to manage pests & fungus?
If fungus appears on fruit, is the fruit safe to eat?
Thank you for taking time to help with my questions. Excited to start lemons this year and more excited to see if they’ll bear fruit!
Looking forward to your help.
Hey Lyn, what a lovely comment with a lot of great questions.
First of all, if you buy a good potting mix for veggies you should be fine, the trees take about 5-15 years to bear fruit.
When the lemon tree starts to flower, just use a fine brush or cotton tip and touch each flower with the tip (if you grow it indoors) - If it is outside, the wind and bees will do this for you!
The lemon tree I have, havent been infected by any serious pests or fungus. I usually just water when the surface of the potting mix or soil is dry. But if you want to get rid of insects there is a lot of producs out there to help you out in case you get into trouble.
If fungus appear on fruit I would not eat it, when fungus start to form, there is usually spores that goes into the fruit that you cant see.
I hope it helped with some of your questions, just get started you wont regret it! :D
Hi, i would know what kind of fertilizer i can give them and more especialy a DIY fertilizer, i don't like using the market solutions that are maybe toxic. Thanks for the video :)
Your lemon trees are so cute!! I also love you have the older ones side by side with the younger ones to show progression.
I want to grow a lemon tree in my house because I live in Montana and our growing season is way too short.
Have any tips for me?
What time of soil is best for lemon? I trying to grow indoor. Pls could you tell me exact what type of brand of soil .
I just this over the summer. 10 seeds got 8 trees. I'm in nyc n its getting cold? When should I bring them in? Will they bare fruit? How do I keep them alive thru the winter?
at what stage should i put the lemon tree into the ground to begin its life in the ground? anybody know, please tell me. thank you so much!
Well it's been three years since ths video was published at the time of this post comment in the video she showed two year old saplings so five years later and still no updates apparently the lemon trees failed to produce lemons.
Plants from seeds take years to produce, need grafting
It wont grow lemons much like reusing an avacado seed to grow a tree.
I have had my lemon tree for almost 4 years it’s over 5 feet tall and the leaves smell like lemon but no lemons yet. ☹️
have they produced flowers and fruit?
what are the different things again for the soil, also where can i get them??
Yes please I should like to fine out how to keep lemon tree in the winder please.
Can you please tell us what was the temperature in your room?
Lovely video thank you for sharing i'm in u.k. and trying to grow a lemon tree from seed its about 8 inches high at moment

Have you made another video on how to keep them alive in the winter? Also, have you gotten an lemons on any of them yet? Thanks
Yes please, if you haven’t already will you make a video on lemon tree care? This video was so helpful, thank you!
so you transplanted to larger pots at some point
Did it start fruiting yet?
Would love more videos on this
When do they bare fruit?
Where the lemons
Did it ever fruit?
Awesome. Have some lemons here. Plan to do this and see if I can get a plant going.
That’s wonderful. Keep me updated on your progress.
Awesome! Got seeds on my counter, I’m gonna try it asap!!
Wonderful 👏 it’s so much fun 🤗
After the planting how many years will take to the produce fruits?
Thanks!
I’ve been wanting to grow a lemon tree from something more specific: a seed from the lemon that Olive Garden includes with their drinks.
A lot of you are asking how to care for the plant. I live in Florida, have raised 12 foot tall grapefruit trees in back yard, we just put either Job's or Miracle Gro plant spikes around the tree once a year, near the drip line. If you have a tiny new tree, just use common sense, and use just a little bit of fertilizer, make sure it is CITRUS FERTILIZER, read the label.

Hi , I enjoyed your video 👍 I am just going to start growing a few lemon trees . Could u help me on how to take care of my lemon trees ? I live in Alaska . I do have a green house van sunroom thst is closed off for the winter to grow fruit veg herbs . Thank u so much 😊
Hello and good afternoon! Thank you for the detailed care guide. If you don't mind, how are your lemon plants doing now?
Great video. Also please could you update whether you got any lemons growing from them? Thanks
I have seedlings ready to replant but not sure where to keep them in winter. At the moment they are on my kitchen window with plenty of light and it's still warm. Have you any advice. Thank you.
My sisterz lemon tree is about 4 feet tall. Never been trained in any way. How far down can she safely cut and not kill the tree. I would like to plant(propagate) the cut taken from the top.
Do lemon trees will bear fruit in tropical places like Philippines?
Yes they like tropical places as long as their roots can drain.
@@urbanchickadoodle6004 thanks a lot!
Are they getting direct sun? How much light and how for optimal growing?
I have 2 advices:
-Peel the fruit and stick in into your mouth, jew lightly and spit out the seeds: faster
- don't dry and peel seeds, because it's not needed
Great video thanks a bunch for filming, yes, I would definitely like to know how to properly take care of them? Also, how long is it before it starts to reproduce lemons?
Mine, which I started in February under a grow light, is only about 6 inches tall today. This is after I left it outside on the sunny side of the house all summer. I have it in regular potting soil. Should I make the soil half sand-half potting soil? The pot isn’t big enough for the gravel. Also, how often does it like water? I’ve been keeping the soil moist.
Good video!
Glad you enjoyed it. Have a wonderful day.
I did not peel the outer layer off. I just put them in a damp sandwich bag in a paper towel and four of them germinated. So there’s not really a need to peel the outer layer off.
Would like to know how to care for seedling lemon 🍋 tree during winter months. Im just starting to seed my seeds. Thank you for taking the time to make the original video above! 😊😊😊
What if I put it in greenhouse on 35°C ? Is it better to stay in the house? How lemon withstands high degree's and dry air which can partially dry out earth?
My tree is 1 1/2 years old and it is twice the size as your 3 yr old. No fruit yet. Curious to see if it will produce fruit from a store bought lemon.
Thank you for the great video! I read some of the comments and someone says it takes 5-15 years to produce fruit. Is that true? That's a while! 🙂 I would love more information about how to take care of it, if you have the time. Thank you, again!
Once you put thembin a pot,did you leave them outside or inside?
I STARTED GROWING MY TREES ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO JUST HAVE THEM IN POTTING SOIL BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THEY DON'TWANT TO GROW THEY ARE ABOUT 2" SHOULD I TRAND PLANT THEM
Same this is what has happened to mine
There’s a lot of factors that could be involved. What season are you in? Is it sunny where you’re at? Did you use fertilizer for them? Did you watch the video because it talks about the soil citrus likes. they like more than just potting soil. They like well draining soil.
@@urbanchickadoodle6004 thanks @Urban Chickadoodle I’ll get to work on them things
I've just done a video on lemon trees too!Urban Chickadoodle is exactly right with the soil requirements! Plus.. they tend to slow down after germinating and getting their first few leaves. Make sure to give them plenty of sunlight and resist the urge to over water them ❤
Loved this video! ❤
thats exactly what happend to mine! they are'nt growing anymore! also my saplings are 2 month old but they are just 1"'
Al I did was put the seeds in some potting soil and they grew, been had 7 years but no fruit. Tree I healthy.
Have your older lemon trees produced fruit yet? Thank you for your good video.
Thank you for your great video and great information as well. I am planning to plant kaffir lime seed soon. I will also try to plant some lemon seed. Would love to see another video on how to take care the lemon tree.
Hi from Australia. :) another video sounds great! :)
Great video have any of your seedlings plants 🪴 bear fruit yet
Is this true bc google says that non organic lemon seeds rarley germinate
We're you able to make video on how to care for lemon trees in winter?
Did she ever make the video explaining how to tend to them?
Where do I put the planted seeds upon putting them in soil do they need direct sun?
How often do you water the seeds after you put them in the potted diet?
Hi I liked ur videos plz can I see ur video on 2 look after the trees in winter ty
Thank you for sharing I'm going to try this
Do the lemon seeds in the paper towels need light?
Great concept! How often do you water them? How often are you changing the pots? How soon before they grow lemons?
If they’re in the house you only water them about once a week. If they’re outside it’s usually twice a week. You wait until their soil is completely dry before watering them. I usually change their pots about once a year. When they’re little sometimes twice a year. It all depends on how fast they grow. Lemon trees start to get lemons when they’re three years old. It’s usually around December.
I would love to see a video on how to care for lemon trees
Yes I want to see in that second video
Ty so much! Really good!!
Wow fabulous video.....did you ever get lemons from them? My uncle keeps telling me I won’t get lemons from them if I grow from seed.
Takes years but you will
I always wash my pots.
Put the rit in the bayg
With all of that rock you added, wouldn't that hinder the soil from draining properly?
Rocks in the bottom of any house hold plant gives plants room for water to drain before root rot starts and allso creats room for the roots to get oxygen
They take soo long to germinate.
But I love watching it progress.
Valerie Sanchez: It's funny that you said, "They take too long to germinate" I'm an A.D. D. type person and had to change my perceptive. I'm 70 yrs old in a couple months, but I still plant stuff I'll never get to see grow to where I can eat the fruit, Reason why I do it is to give the next generation of people beautiful fruit trees they can enjoy. . I say; why not? If anything, watch it grow.......M.C.
Thank you!
The seeds that I tried to germinate started growing mold. What am I doing wrong?
I mix a little peroxide with water and mist it with that. Hope this helps
Nice video Thanks for sharing. 🍋🍋🍋
Thank You for stopping by.
Good video!
Love these thank you 🌱🍃💚🤘🏼🎸🌿
You are very welcome
Wow! Did not know one had to get rid of the seed cover. Thank you!
i just planted them as they are, but my next project is to do exactly what you shared.....Thumbs up!
DO THEY EVERY FLOWER AND PRODUCE OR HAVE THEY BE MONSANITIZED? Monsanto forces us to rely on them
Mine grew spikes….. i wonder why
You planted a demon, not lemon. Common mistake
First
Yay!
nice video
Thank You 🙏
