- In this video, learn how to make Chef Nicole McLaughlin’s traditional Scotch eggs, a boiled egg wrapped in sausage, breaded, and deep-fried. Serve this fun and interesting dish on a bed of lettuce with sliced tomatoes and mustard for garnish. They can be served as an appetizer, snack, side, or light meal with a fresh side salad. If you want to get the messy work done ahead of time, prepare them one day in advance and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

It's Nicole, I click no matter what she's making.
For sure!!!☺️❤️
Me too!!!
Samsies!❤
I love that recipe and what Ì loved more was that kick and jump afterwards. That was awesome 😂 I can tell that you were proud asf with yourself for doing such a great job, which you did. Very nice
Oh yeah 😎. Oven? What? 200°F, 300°F, 400°F ??
I had to click on the recipe link. The oven is set for 350, and the fryer for 375.
Those look AMAZING! I've never had one, but now I want to eat them everyday!
Our family recently tried Scotch Eggs at an Irish Pub in Colorado. They were so yummy I became curious about how to make them. Just came across this video 😊 looks like you nailed it! I so want to try them for our family 😋 Thanks for the fun video 😊
Nicole you are the best. That looks amazing. At first it looked like to much sausage but it wasn't.
Way to go girl. You nailed it to the wall.
You should try them with a Dijon hollandaise sauce. They are Amazing, the acidity cuts through the fatty sausage and mixes with the runny yolk to make an even richer sauce.
Not sure which drooled first, the egg or my mouth?? They look incredible!! Thank you for this recipe🥰😎🥰
Yummy! I think I’m gonna have to try these for the first time!🤤🙏❤️
In my 43 years growing up in England eating hundreds if not thousands of these I have only ever had them home made once and never ever runny or hot.😮
The ones you buy at Fortnum and Mason are always slightly runny (and always delicious!💕They will heat them for you too)
I love watching her cook
Love making these.....they are so delicious ❤
You knocked it out of the park on your first try!! I think if you put the sausage on parchment paper, it could be easier to work with but I worry about removing the shells from soft boiled eggs. Anyway, you have convinced me and Jimmy Dean to give it a try! Thanks for another great video and a different egg dish for breakfast, lunch or dinner! 😘
Looks amazing. Going to make them this weekend.
I watched it twice number one because I want to master this number two because you were so excited
Those look good. Thanks for sharing.
Ha, Nicole is adorable and now I have to try this recipe! I think i can actually pull this off thank you for sharing this.
Looks absolutely delicious 😋
LOVE IT!,
Hi from the UK. You nailed it! 😁
You nailed it❤
I use to love mom making these with potato pancakes.
Gotta try this. I first saw these at a Renaissance faire and wondered how they were made. They served it with some mustard sauce.
You knocked it out of the Ballgame!!! Woowoo😮😂❤
RIP Ewen "Big Keith" McIntosh, the guy who made scotch eggs more iconic than never.
Haha you nailed it and hung it up!!!!lol looks delicious!!!
These always intimidated me too much to try. Ain't gonna lie. I'll try to brave it. One day. Lol
It's a year later, did you do it?
With chease!!🎉🎉🎉
I’m 61 years old from Australia and I have never heard of scotch eggs until today. November 2023 And they look very nice.
Why have I never seen them in Australia?
Very nice 👍🙂
Love scotch eggs
❤❤❤❤ good
I had heard of Scotch eggs but never knew what they were. This is AMAZING. Great job and many thanks to Nicole. 👍⬆☑ ZERO THANKS to post-production for the ill-advised music bed that serves no purpose other than to annoy. 👎👇⬇⤵
What temperature do you put on the inside of the stove for ten mins?
yup
Awesome pub food, great to see something a bit different & they look delicious (& like little footballs at the start yikes!)
Your recipe’s are amazing! I love them. I share them with my family and friends.
A couple of little tips from a Brit!
If you put cling film (Saran Wrap) on the board, you can use another piece on top of the sausage and roll it out. Take the top one off once it's flat. place the egg in the middle and use the cling film covering the board to form the ball of sausage around the egg, it's a lot easier. Wet hands will also help with this stage.
If you are using hard boiled egg especially, you can refrigerate the scotch egg for a short time to firm up the sausage before coating.
Fun facts: The scotch egg was invented in 1738 by Fortnum & Mason as an travel snack for people travelling to and from their London store. Fortnum & Mason are still trading, selling food hampers and other foodie items.
During the Suffragette protests in 1911 (the campaign for the rights of women in the UK to vote), the windows of F&M were smashed by protesters. When the ladies in question were released from Holloway prison, the store gave the protesters hampers!
That happy dance
2 questions, what kind of sausage? breakfast or sweet italian? And what temp should I bake them on for 10 minutes? Thank you I’m excited to make them!
- breakfast sausage
- 350F for 10 minutes
How to peel soft boiled eggs?
How long if I want them jammy, but not runny?
6 minutes!
What is the temp of your oven suppose to be?
I had to click on the recipe link to find the answer. The oven is set for 350!
Yummy 😋,#lifefusion69 alway stay connected 😊.
What temp on oven
350. You can find it if you click on the recipe link.
1:53. Eggs-terior. I see what you did there.
I thought that Scotch Eggs was something like Balouts with the birds still in the egg...
Undercooked egg?
I want to marry this woman.
Wow nothing makes a meal like explosive diarrhea from under cooked food. Just an FYI never eat Jammy eggs unless you're trying to get salmonella poisoning.
You paired a salad with a scotch egg?... the disrespect...
You pair a scotch egg with a Caledonia's Best, a Tennants Lager, maybe an Irn Bru even and some chips.
Raw egg yolk 🤮
