I've seen exactly 2 clips of this season of Masterchef, and Thea has cried about failing in both of them.
Who else HATES Thea, getting the judges to constantly fall into her pity party and cry her way up. Can’t cry every time life gets rough and unpredictable.

A scotch egg with soft boiled egg is incredible. The textures from the crisp coating, the seasoning sausage meat and the running yoke are what dreams are made of.
Softer eggs does not make a Scotch egg bad.

@@yosoyconsuela They are *traditionally* cooked all the way through. However, modern tastes prefer a jammy, possibly runny, yolk. For example, Fortnum and Mason in London cook theirs with a runny yolk, and that's honestly how I prefer them. I guess the judges needed an agreed upon rubric and decided to go with traditional?

It's funny when the judges say that the eggs are "undercook". For Gordon Ramsay all those eggs would be overcooked, the yolk of a scotch egg is supposed to be runny and silky.

Why do the chefs want the eggs to be bone dry? I don't know anything about Scotch Eggs, but I feel like they would probably taste a lot better if the yolk was runny or at least creamy
It's the way the dish is. But if the yolk is a very bright yellow, almost starting to whiten, it will be pasty and nice. If you cook too long, it will be a darker yellow and it will be dry and crumbly.
It’s because these “chefs” have no idea how a proper scotch egg should be made. Hard boiled centre is fine for Tesco’s and Sainsbury’s but a cookery show should never ask for that.
