Used to do this route but from Sheffield to Newquay for our family holidays on the overnight summer specials BR run. We did it from 1990 to 1997 and I loved the journey and always stood at a door with my head out the window at Tamar Bridge☺️ we used to leave Sheffield about midnight and get into Newquay about 07:30 Saturday morning. There used to be about 6 HST trains come into and leave Newquay every Saturday with a fresh batch of holiday makers.
